AND idk if i made that clear enough, but the sentimental/spiritual/abstract/intangible/less corporal high oxy provides u is better if you’re opioid-naive. but ofc some ppl will still like morphine better, personal taste just be like that.
maybe oxy is better because the “body load” u get with morphine is a bit more intense, and if ur opioid-naive it can be uncomfortably physical yk? while oxy isn’t as much. but god, if you’ve never done oxy: it is still Very physical.
and maybe morphine is better if ur receptors are fucked up because, well, the opposite. but also, very importantly, we suspect it might have something to do with the fact that oxycodone needs to be metabolized, it has active metabolites, oxymorphone, noroxycodone and noroxymorphone. meaning your liver has to break it down using 2 enzymes, but eh mostly cyp2d6. so yea we (me and my junkie friends — we’re studying this shit academically) also speculate our liver just doesn’t break it down like it used to. (that sounded funny sorry).
What do oxys feel like
if ur receptors are clean, u haven’t been using opioids for months, it’s the best feeling in the world imo, no other drug could compare. there isn’t so much euphoria, but there’s pleasure in a different way that i can’t explain.
my head gets a bit heavy, my mouth tastes like plastic for some reason, but i’m overcome with this very intense happiness like, the kind you haven’t felt since u were a young child. it feels so safe and warm and cozy, maybe even kinda “innocent” in that way. to me it’s the only drug that makes me feel like everything will be ok for real, and not just a temporary fix (like benzos feel for instance). and ofc it is temporary, it’s a drug, it passes, but still, when im high on it i feel like a baby still inside the womb, where nothing can get to me.
morphine has similarities, ofc, as do codeine, pethidine, and any other opioids. but i’m deadly allergic to codeine now (only became allergic after getting high on it several times, idk why!) so i haven’t used in a long time so i don’t remember how it feels that well, and i only used pethidine a couple of times cause it’s hard to find here (unfortunately, cause it’s much better than morphine imo). for those reasons, i only use oxy and morphine, and, despite being very similar (obviously, since they’re both opioids), there are some major differences you would notice if u tried both of them more than a couple of times:
- morphine is much more physical. for both drugs, the “pleasure” i described is accompanied by hot flashes, a tingling like butterflies in ur stomach, feeling ur body/limbs lighter/weightless (but your head heavier in a way that i can’t explain), etc., and it feels like a very light and pleasurable body load. for morphine, this “body load” is more accentuated.
- maybe because of that, morphine works better when your receptors are used to opioids, and the starter doses aren’t kicking in anymore. we don’t know why, exactly, but after you’ve been doing both drugs for months without taking some time to clean ur receptors, morphine just does the job better. like, yesterday i took 150 mg of morphine (A STARTER DOSE CANNOT BE OVER 60-90 MG) — an equivalent dose of oxy wouldn’t have had me feeling high the way i felt yesterday.
so why do i still advocate that oxy is so much better? it’s really hard to explain. if morphine is more physical, oxy is more… sentimental? spiritual? abstract? the high is less corporeal, it’s intangible, but it’s definitely there.

Saying that cannabis isn’t a drug further stigmatizes drug use. Cannabis is a drug, and that’s okay. When you say it’s just a plant or it’s just medicine, while both those statements are true, it is harmful in many ways. People who use drugs are not bad. Drugs are not bad. Stop stigmatizing drug use and start encouraging safe drug use.
