uughhh, TOTALLY! 😭 i agree so much, i think i could go on for days about how badly they fumbled Moon's character in every book after her own. because gosh her book was actually perfect to me, she was such a complex and intriguing character to me, i wanted to explore her nuances and i love the way she thinks. boiling her down to basically a Bella Swan type of character makes me go insane.

however i feel it's mostly due to the love triangle as, within Arc 2, you have 2 dragons in love with her and the other 2 dragons with little to no interest in her so we really don't get to experience her.

[with that note, i feel as though Arc 2 had janky chemistry with one another hence why i have a lot of criticism about the characters.]

cant stop thinking about Turtle because oh heavens he's so so sad i love him, i wish everything good upon him.

i keep thinking about My Love, Mine All Mine about him because he really only felt useful and real when he had his gift, but oh my gosh. the. ending.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT ENDING THERE'S NO WAY, it singlehandedly made me hate Darkstalker, i dont care if he's a good character, he took the one thing away from Turtle. the whole book was so agonizing and so sad and just. oh my gosh. my heart is broken.

im struggling thru Book 10 rn bc Qibli is so annoying i really don't like him that much and everytime he says smth bad abt Turtle, i go crazy. 😭😭

no one talks abt it but Qibli is like? super self centered? idk, i might like him but it's hard.

i would destroy everything for Turtle tho.

because i actually really liked his character from everyone else's perspective, i feel like everyone really interpreted him well, but for some reason his own POV was hard to sit through? for me, i think it's because there was a lot of built expectations for how he should've been written, but i became disappointed if that makes sense.

for a guy with a really complex mind, he only thought about like 3 things during his book. im not saying there has to be a lot of detail to make a good character, but that was kind of the point of HIS character right?

when i first met the false dragonets, i actually really loved them bc they're all just sad kids yk? anyway, i loved Flame when i first met him and my heart was WRENCHED when he hugged Avalanche.

then when i saw his design in the graphic novel i fell inlove ALL over again.

EEEEE yes ! im so happy people are on board with this ship! i made some more doodles because im crazy haha.

i think Kinkajou would be kind of teasing towards him because he's so broody, but he really enjoys her company since she has a grasp of what it means to be her.

and Winter's whole dilemma is that he doesn't know who he is, so Kinkajou would definitely be a kind of anchor for that:

"you're Winter! duh!" [plus she's a rainwing, who shifts colours all the time; and to Winter, it's probably an amazing concept to be so many outfits, but still be the dragon she knows she is.]

so im a little insane about them AAHHH.

though im sure she'd be a little oblivious to him liking her since she's ecstatic about everything. [Qibli would know. he knows everything.]

i love Hailstorm, im only halfway through Book 7 but i would give everything for Hailstorm, the fact that he's such a....tragic character. like the torment of being an ENTIRELY different dragon. it would do numbers on her and i know it. this is existentialism incarnate. imagine being two people, but at the same time, only one. there are two sets of memories and feelings and.....man. i love you Hailstorm/Pyrite.

i was also thinking of Alex G's song Mary and how the lyrics are:

"i am real and you are not."

and i feel like that's how she feels about herself, but there's no bitterness despite how conflicted the feelings are because he doesn't hate himself. in fact i think she loves herself in both of its entireties.

so anyway Hailrite [Pyrstorm?] might be my new favorite character.
