- BATH TIME !!! - an Arrietty adventure

Okay I think we need an explanation for that one. This is Arrietty. In a hooman’s bathtube. Riding a walnut shell. While trying to escape a very angry yellow plastic duck.

For the little story I was talking about that whole Arrietty in a tiny walnut shell boat idea with a very good friend of mine, we both got super excited about it, so I basically was super serious about it...but ended up being lazy and just painted blots LOL. End of the story.

- Kyo’s true form - (concept art)

This is spoilery asf but i’ve been watching Fruits Basket 2019 and I don’t really get the design idea behind cat boi’s “true form”, it kinda looks like a super frog that is a bit cute to me because...have you seen ET the extra terrestrial.

So that one basically is a four eyed orange cat with an extra long tongue. Probably runs on four paws. Definitely a huge improvement from the original concept rriiiigHT **coughing** Tho it kinda looks like Kyo i think --- **extra coughing**

Will probably keep the concept for other uses i guess PS : don’t think that i’m belittling the original concept, it’s very hard to design good monsters. Maybe a bulky black with orange scales panther, with very scary yellow eyes and god speed, would be a more “elegant” design idk...i havent read the manga idk what kind of feel they were going for

I really wanted to be serious about that one but it kinda looks like a very bad trip. Might just give up on digital art for some time and get back to the comfy paper and mechanical pencil way of life lol. Not to rant again but sometimes i’m quite happy i never had that weird idea to pursue art studies because oh god i’d be a disgrace to the art community **snorts**. (close enough i don’t wonder if i’m not already a disgrace to the arcana fanbase **LOUDER SNORTING SOUNDS**) Btw i wish i could have that fancy ballroom costume of his, not to dance obviously but just to lay around like a lazy bum on the couch and hope to feel pretty haha

As said in title, not my OC not my story lol. I’ve been watching Boro redraw that pic for like the 999 times it’s really gotten under my skin. Ended up looking very experimental. And I feel like we need some explanations so here we go. From what i understood original idea is victorian pregnant lady feeding her spooky kids with fresh meat. But idk I just feel like in their past lives they were normal kids, probably from a poor family of a single mother, starving for food for sure...but you know when you’re a mom you don’t only feed your kids food, you also ought to feed them love. And in Boro’s series I really feel like the black widow is always staring up, she absolutely doesn’t make eye contact with any of her kids, like she’s alive, absolutely stunning, but stripped of any maternal love. And maybe that’s why they look so spooky and inhuman. Maybe it’s a curse, who knows. But lemme tell you this plotwist. There’s that one kid who’s born a little bit different and who *remembered* the love. So he’s just here aiming for her mom’s heart instead of being obsessed by the food. And that kid will break the curse (or eat his mom’s heart, SECOND PLOTWIST OOF) Okay now that I ruined AAAbSooolutely all the spookiness of the original character, i’m gonna comment the kids faces from up to bottom and left to right : one and two are *obsessed* with the meat, def are lowtiers in the game of breaking the curse, three did in his pants and is sorry, four is mad because he’s so far from dinner, five is godtier and is gonna break the curse, he probably has a hardcore oedipian complex too, six is a total meme. Shy Shy Shy

A redraw of a character I made a long long loooong time ago for some chara design contest. Literally 8 years ago i think. Some people may recognize where it comes from.  Oh because i really feel like talking i have a little story about the original design. She had small padlocks on her socks, the two weird yellow things you see on the drawing above (bird eye view is hard oK). I was kind of disappointed they didn’t keep those in the final design because 14yo me thought it was one fashion accessory she sewed herself to her socks because it was supposed to lock the door to her heart so her feelings would be protected from any harm. 14yo me was emo asf.

You know Nadia's here for the fashion but Asra...he totally came for the fancy drinks.

Btw I drew them very simple looking clothes because my mind is absolutely void of all fashion sense but I have a feeling that Asra would wear quite basic confortable clothes made of natural fabrics like cotton or linen, but always with that one or two hand made accessories that just *pop* to yours eyes, while Nadia would have that unique refined fashion sense that I cannot even imagine because my mind is not powerful enough lol

The Masquerade - The Arcana

Lot lot lot of things to say about that one ---

First I have no idea how the arcana’s main character looks like. They give me more of a feminine vibe, but really i don’t think i thought so much about it while playing the game. Also their masquerade costume, we don’t get so much info on that either, especially how the mask looks. The only detail description they give us i think is that it seems it was crafted by dear Asra and that he added nice touches of color around the eyes. I just assumed it had something to do with the Fool. I also added some rainbow colors around the eyes, because i think they say MC has a very peculiar kind of magic, which is of many colored compared to...lets’ say Asra who’s purple (and look it matches his masquerade clothes...i think i’m on something lol). And tbh it also reminded me of the Pride flag...and LGBT rights seem like something really important to the developpers.  Second dude i spent like 3h or more making that arcana palace inspired background. So if anyone’s interested please PM me and i’ll post the file on a separate post. (or edit that one idk...i just got no idea how to post good quality pics on tumblr so meh)

Third I know that --- classically --- ballroom pictures are drawn with the characters having very sultry and passionated expressions on their faces haha...but you know what strikes me the most about Asra’s character is that...unflappable kid happiness (optimism ?) in the most terrible times. I just couldn’t picture them with serious ass expressions...and well I guess it’s very much okay to be foolishly happy like that. 

PS : i forgot to say thanks for the crazy amount of notes my cheap Asra portrait got, it was very unexpected but i’m really glad so many people enjoyed it, i’m always glad to bring something nice in the life of someone haha
