In most languages, the Colored Pencils boss in Paper Mario: The Origami King has a somewhat lengthy name he introduces himself with. In the English version, it is "Jean-Pierre Colored Pencils the 12th".
The French translation, however, goes one step beyond the other versions and gives him an absurdly lengthy name that also forms an acronym if the individual names are taken as initials. The name is "Côme Raoul Aimé Yves Oscar Nicolas Siméon de Couleur", where the first seven names spell out "C. R. A. Y. O. N. S. de Couleur", French for "colored pencils".

history of the microwave minimum button presses category
for those that aren't aware, the Microwave MinimuM button presses category (commonly called mmm presses) is the category of microwaverunning that requires the cooking to be finished with the least amount of button presses possible. 1min% is the most commonly run subcategory, although 30sec% and 99:99% subcategories have also been recently developed. i'll mostly be talking about 1min% though, which aims to cook the food for precisely one minute.
the first run in this category was done by a runner named Markrowaver on june 29th, 2025, who completed his run in only 5 button presses, taking the 0, 1, 0, 0, [Start] route. it was overall a very impressive run with very few mistakes, but he believed there was still room for optimization.
this record remained unbroken for over four months. Markrowaver kept doing runs over this time, but he was unable to come even close to beating his original record. he became more and more certain that the sequence he used could not be optimized any further. but that all changed when a new runner named Hot_pocket50 entered the scene. he soon discovered a new strat that he called "the starting 0 skip." basically, by using Markrowaver's original strategy, but omitting the first zero and going directly into pressing the 1, he found out that you could save an entire button press, and on november 1st, 2025, he was able to obtain the new world record of just 4 presses.
(music change, start playing sad music)
Markrowaver had never felt so defeated. he couldn't believe that someone so young and so new to the microwaverunning scene could best him so easily. he privated his twitter and was never seen in the community again.
(slow cross fade, give the audience time to absorb that highly emotional moment)
for over a year, Hot_pocket50 remained the mmm presses champion. after all, there were no unnecessary presses in his run, so it seemed to be mechanically impossible to use any less.
but that all changed on january 20th, 2026...
...
(sudden dramatic zoom-in on a microwave)
...
this is the +30sec tech.
previously thought to only be viable in 30sec% runs, the +30sec tech was first used in a 1min% on january 5th, 2026 by a runner named Beepi234, who had only been doing runs to beat their own pb (peanut butter). there, it was used in a unique 3, 0, [Start], +30sec, [Start] route, which wasn't even close to beating the current record, but would form the basis for the record-breaking run two weeks later. there, by sheer accident, Beepi pressed the following sequence: +30sec, +30sec, [Start].
...
and it worked.
none of the other runners believed it, but after being reviewed under careful scrutiny, even having the validity of the microwave itself called into question, the moderators of microwaverun dot com verified the 3-press run. after this, there were attempts from various runners of a 6, 0, [Start] route, but none of them could do any better than tying Beepi's original record. Beepi234 was now the undisputed champion of microwaverunning, and no one could challenge their record.
(fade to black)
...
...
except for themselves.
as a runner who previously only aimed to beat their own pb, it only makes sense that Beepi would continue their attempts. but with the current ruleset, how would a sub-3-press 1min% run?
and the answer
was
...
pizza.
this is where it starts to get interesting.
around the time that Beepi's 3-press run was submitted, microwaveminers had discovered a completely unused button in the microwave's system: the [Pizza] button. (literally, this button has never seen use), but this button was actually very easily accessible through the microwave's face by using an advanced exploit called "moving your hand upward." what did it do, you ask?
it instantly set the microwave to exactly 1:00.
and it was about to be the key to Beepi's sub-3-press run.
now, even if the [Pizza] button had been discovered sooner, it is highly unlikely that it ever would have seen used outside of TAS runs. the exploit required to access it is highly precise, and just a few centimeters can be the difference between successfully pressing it and having to reset.
but that didn't stop Beepi.
once again, by complete accident, while microwaving normally on stream on February 14th, 2026, Beepi pressed the [Pizza] button while attempting to press the 2 button, and before they realized their "mistake," pressed the [Start] button. even though luck made it happen, it was considered still a valid run. no one thereafter had ever even attempted the "moving your hand upward" exploit in a serious run, and so Beepi remained as the holder of the mmm presses 1min% record with only two presses.
(fade to black again)
...
...
...
...
(everyone thinks it's over and has gone home)
...
...
...
...
...
...
(it seems like a pretty satisfying ending to me)
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...for less than a week.
no one thought it possible to beat 2-presses, but on February 19th, 2026, the impossible was done.
...
and the doer
...
was none other than Markrowaver.
i lied at the beginning so i could have this dramatic moment later.
after what was thought to be a permanent hiatus from the microwaverunning community, Markrowaver returned with a truly unbeatable run: a run with just a 1 button press. he decided to rethink his original mindset, not to become jealous of other runners, but to learn from their successes.
here's how he did it.
after carefully studying Beepi234's record-holding run, he learned how to replicate it at a fairly consistent rate. this was good, but he would not be able to do any better than tie with them, unless he made some kind of unbelievable development.
and that's exactly what he did.
by pressing the [Pizza] button, and not releasing it, he only performed half of a button press (a button press actually has three parts to it: when the button is pressed, when the button is held, and when the button is released. and together, this forms one complete button press). while holding down the [Pizza] button, he simultaneously began holding down the [Start] button, performing another half-press. together these add up to exactly 1 single button press.
the downside of this method, aside from being highly technical, is that the runner is unable to release these buttons, lest they add additional press-parts. as a result of this, Markrowaver has been unable to do any further microwaveruns, or really anything for that matter, without forfeiting the run. the upside of this method is that no one has attempted to beat his record, and he remains the world-record holder to this very day.
...
there is one single way that this run could be bested, and that is a run with 0 button presses. but is it even possible?
potentially.
if one were to bash their microwave really hard with a hammer, it is technically possible that they could trigger it for exactly one minute, but to this day, no one, not even Beepi, has been that willing to risk leaving their run up to that much RNG. moreover, if an attempt at this method were to fail, the runner would have a bashed microwave.
...
...
...
...
...
...
and that's exactly what i have.
THIS is the history of the microwave minimum button presses category thanks for watching PLAY THE LOFI OUTRO

Hey man imma be real I have NO clue how to set up anything PS2 related but you can probably find the game on Vimm's Lair or something. As for actually playing it, try finding a guide for setting up PCSX2? I think that's the main emulator people use for PS2. OH wait you said for android, Aethersx2 is on the play store, that's all I know.

In Japanese, they don’t say “moon,” they say “tsuki,” which literally translates to “moon,” and I think that’s how language works.
