Now THIS is a real keto caveman club frosty hit when you are too lazy to sit and make keto ice cream or god knows whatever other frozen deserts you need time for.  The whole shebang takes me about 2 minutes to make.
SORRY, but I left out one important ingredient from the photo.  I large egg for consistency.  Here’s exactly what you need and what you have to do:
1. Tell yourself you are making a “malted” and not a thick shake, because the consistency is closer to a rich delicious malted (a little more “liquidy” than a shake).
2. Dump the ingredients into a good blender (I use a Ninja but any blender will do, as long as it comes with an electric plug or is battery operated so you don’t wear out your hands):
-- half cup of heavy whipping cream
-- 3 large hits (heaping tablespoons) of Swerve sugar replacement -- this is the powdered version, not the granule version, unless you enjoy drinking sand, and then by all means use granules.  I prefer powdery texture.  This product is apparently a huge keto staple product because it amounts to ZERO net carbs because the main ingredient is Erythritol which doesn’t impact blood sugars
--- 1 large egg - yolk and all - except the shell.  Honestly, I’ll bet the shell has some good vitamins and I will experiment next time by tossing in the entire egg ith shell and all to report my findings.  For now, the egg ads a good “consistency” to the malt.
---  A handful of macadamia nuts - these are very keto friendly and a good source of protein
--- you can give it a small hit of Vanilla extract (half teaspoon) if you like (it is not pictured in the photo because I didn’t use it today)
--- Two heaping tablespoons of Hershey's dark chocolate cocoa powder
--- top it off with a large cup of water and large cup of ice.
Blend, drink, and as you are consuming it, tell yourself that if this was a McDonald’s thick shake, you would probably be one pound heavier tomorrow because of all the other crap you know that shake would probably lead you to eat.
But because you have decided instead to indulge in the Keto Caveman Club’s hack chocolate malted, you are a Keto Warrior!  And that scale is likely to be down anywhere from .5 of a pound tomorrow to maybe even 1-2 pounds, depending on whether or not you get off your tuchas and do something else besides eating - something I’m usually a bit challenged with myself!!
Anyway, enjoy the snack and let me know what you think.  Follow me @ keto caveman club

Now this is looking an awful lot like celery to me which is never gonna approach what a bagel meant to my tastebuds lol, but to each his own.  I am about to test drive a bagel product made by “Thin Slim Foods”   you can google them or find them on Amazon.  I think I reported on the honey bread I had ordered from them.  The bread was ZERO carb and very “passable” --- what I mean by passable is that it really did taste like sandwich bread in an actual sandwich.  Their products are hit and miss based on other reviews.   The bread was good, the brownies were bad, the cookies were good.   But I’m waiting on an order of the bread (my 3rd order) and first order of bagels.  And if it’s good, THAT is what I will have when I’m missing my huge carb bagel.  I will report my further findings.   Follow me @ keto caveman club

The antioxidants are fantastic -, especially for men.   But it does depend on hat kind of program your on.  I believe one cup has about 15 grams of sugar and for me, that sugar is a gateway to artificial sugars.  Not to mention it can throw you out of ketosis if you’re on a low carb diet like me.  And of course, if they are really sweet, you need the discipline to eat just a handful.  I give those of you able to do that a lot of credit!  follow me @ keto caveman club

Eggs have to be the most versatile of all foods - keto and non-keto alike!
It just so happens to be one of the basic staples for those of us on keto, but when you think about it, you can have eggs “out in front” with no disguise, or buried in the background as an ingredient.
There are about ten different ways you can eat them.  If I didn’t know any better and you told me that my favorite  - scrambled eggs - were a completely different food than hard-boiled eggs, I would believe it.  Is there food more versatile than the common egg?

Real Foods or Keto-Fake Substitutes?
I am finding on my Keto-journey that it’s much more satisfying to stick with real foods, than it is to try to substitute “fake versions” of real food.  These are the best examples I can give you.  Shrimp and pizza.  You can eat as much shrimp as you like, and if you’re a seafood eater you know you won’t be disappointed.  I’ve made keto-friendly shrimp salad, shrimp parmigiana and even shrimp marsala (with mushrooms) and it’s always satisfying and tasty and never disappointing.
But the lure of having “real pizza” always leads to to finding keto-friendly recipes that always disappoint.  I’ve had cauliflower pizza - at least 5 different versions (and what I pain in the ass to prepare!)  and I’ve tried using almond flour (less time consuming and less messy but equally disappointing ) and nothing comes close to real pizza.  And everyone that offers up a recipe will say, “you know if you’re looking for real pizza, you’re gonna be disappointed!”
So why be disappointed?  Just avoid it in the first place and go with real food!
I have a few exceptions though, that I’ll be blogging about - fake foods that are passable - mostly because they aren’t the main ingredient in the meal --- there’s a great bread that I found - zero carb bread --- it is definitely passable and gives you a way to enjoy sandwiches.

I agree 100% with this.  I’m about 55 now, but there were two points in my life - the 1st when I was in my 20′s and the second when I was in my 30′s where I used intermittent fasting (without knowing what it was called) to get really lean.  I was big on pizza ---
I know it’s crazy, but I did 3 slices of wheat pizza in the afternoon, and a piece of fruit at night and that was it till the next day.  It was a crazy pizza diet and it worked.
I wouldn’t do it again today, but I do use a moderate form of intermittent fasting along with keto. I will usually skip that breakfast meal (I believe its extremely overrated by the breakfast cereal companies) and have a hearty keto-friendly lunch around 12 pm.  I’m having a keto dinner around 6 pm and keto snack around 10 pm. But by morning when I weigh-in, I’m seeing a drop of anywhere from .5 pound to 1 pound.  I know they say be under 50 carbs for ketosis, but I’m a big guy, and even at 50 carbs I’m losing weight.  You have to know yourself.

I know I’m going to take a lot of crap for this one, but I drink an awful lot of diet soda on my Keto plan.  I know I should be drinking water - this is one of those really tough things it’s been hard for me to give up.  I still crave that sweetness when I drink.  And of course this is zero carbs.  I guess there really is a “clean” keto and a “dirty” keto.  The kind of keto I’m rockin’ is a little bit of both.  I’d love to hear if there are any others that share my dirty little secret.  If so, do you plan to wean off the diet soda? Or do you fully embrace it as part of your keto plan? Follow me at keto caveman club and let me know.

My advice if you’re a compulsive overeater and trying to do keto, exercise caution with fruits --- even berries --- YES they are heathy, YES they are relatively low carb, BUT they DO have natural sugar, and for some of us that is a deal breaker because sugar just makes us crazy.  You have to know yourself - know whether or not something sets you off.  Maybe one day I’ll be able to eat a nice healthy dose of berries but for right now it’s off the radar for me.  Follow me @ keto caveman club

If only - if only -- I had the willpower to eat just 1 Oreo!! lol.  To each his own.  Because I know in my heart I lack that kind of “discipline” I’m best to avoid those things with artificial sugar and even the natural sugars - it just makes me crazy.  Substituting fat for sugar - also sounds crazy - but that’s the Keto way - and for whatever reason, it works for most people that do it -- including me.  Follow me at keto caveman club

OK, I’m so glad you mentioned the almond flour.  I’m big on it as a quick substitute for cauliflower which can start to get under your skin after a while.  The whole cauliflower pizza thing is a huge disappointment for me --- and I’d rather just avoid it and eat something that genuinely tastes great, rather than trying to fool myself.   Now I’ve made pizza with almond flower --- it was much faster than the cauliflower pizza because you don’t have to go through the whole process of squeezing out the water.  But it still was a little disappointing.
I'm hoping your recipe for fried chicken (with almond flower) is as good as it looks ---- one thing it has over on the pizza, is that the CHICKEN is the main recipe - not the almond flour.  I’m going to add this one to my recipe plans and give you my review after I try it out.  Thanks! Guys THIS SHIT WAS AMAZING.
Homemade chicken nuggets and instead of breadcrumbs I used a mixture of almond flour and grated parmesan. Then I pan fried them in a little bit of olive oil.
Hooolyyy shitttt
Meals like this make me love my low carb diet so much.
I also made a dipping sauce out of mayo, ketchup, onion powder, garlic powder, and extra black pepper.
I’m so satisfied. I ate the whole damn thing.

Fruit is probably the one thing I really miss most (besides real New York pizza and bagels) with being on a low carb Keto diet.  I do eat avocados though.  But most of the other fruits - even though I realize some have enormous health benefits --- the natural sugar in them just sets me off (putting aside the issue of the carbs) - for me, they are like gateway drugs that set me off on an eating compulsion rage - so for now - most are off-limits. Eventually I hope to re-introduce them to my diet.  I shedded about 50 pounds on Keto but still have another 50 to go.  I did the first 50 in about 6 months.  Follow me @ keto caveman club

This soup looks amazing.  I’m surprised to see no cheese in the recipe. I’m going to give it a try.  The only thing that concerns me here (as I’ve said before) is that you have to have the discipline not to eat the whole thing -- which appears to be 8 servings --- unless you just use much smaller amounts of th ingredients - that’s my biggest weakness on any program.  Please follow me @ keto caveman club

Dov this is an amazing accomplishment! When I see pictures like this it’s a huge motivator and does wonders for my own belief system.  Not sure how you did it.  For me, it’s been a continuous journey of trial and failure until I found the keto lifestyle  I don’t say its for everyone.  But for me, its go big or go hungry. Honestly, I guess mileage varies depending on where you live.  Here in Florida Keto is so popular you’d swear every other person was on it or is going on it - very little judgment.  Even restaurants are keto-friendly - my local burger places are happy to make you burgers with a lettuce wrap instead of bread.
It’s like everything else, these same people that will judge you for Keto, are likely to judge you for other things as well.  You have to just tune them out. The only one we can really control is the one staring back at you in the mirror.
I also experienced many of the positive effects of Keto, even with all the negative publicity that still bubbles up about it.  First, I lost a significant amount of weight that lowered my bad cholesterol and blood pressure; second I felt much better because I could move again - getting up out of a chair no longer required me to count down from 3 lol; I started looking better and its given me the confidence to start working out in a local gym;  the terrible dryness in my throat when I slept is no longer a part of my life - thankfully; even better - I used to get terrible acid indigestion and bile at night.  Bile is way worse than antacid.  Tums does NOT work for bile! The list could go on and on.
I’m thankful just to find something that works that way I work.  I’m still a work in progress.  You can see from my pictures posted on keto caveman club I lot about fifty pounds, slipped up a little but back on program now.
So, just some thoughts I’ve been having about fat-shaming and how others react to how you eat.
So, recently, my husband and I decided to try out Keto. (Which, very briefly, is when you cut carbs to a very very low level so your metabolism switches over to using fatty acids instead of glucose. It’s a pretty odd diet that has some specific benefits. Not for everyone, but useful for some) Its basically cured my migraines; I havent had a single one since I started. Its helped my energy levels. And yes, I’ve been losing some weight as well.
And so far, everyone I know in real life has been very supportive if I explain to them why I cant have a cookie in the breakroom, or why ordering lunch at a resteraunt is taking me so long (gotta check those net carbs online!!)
But I’m also on the Keto subreddit right now. And people tell these awful stories all the time about friends, family, coworkers, even fucking waiters, being rude or judgemental when their keto comes up. Fights with famil over their diet. Having to lie to waiters about having a food allergy or they get scoffed at for asking about the nutritional info or ingredients. Most of these folks also started with a lot more weight to lose than me (I started at right about 200lbs, closer to 190 now after about a month. A lot of these folks with the worst experiences talk about starting at close to or over 300)
Now, I don’t think I’m just magically lucky in my coworkers and waitstaff. I would wager that this comes down to the extreme hostility that people throw at EVERYTHING fat people do. This mentality that if you “ let yourself ” get that heavy, everything you try must be bad.
Look, I’m chubby. I have some weight I can stand lose, sure. It’s not really a health issue for me at the moment, but losing a little weight and working out more is helping me get into better shape for backpacking and hiking. If you saw me on the street, you might think “plump” but not obese. And when I say “oh, no croutons in my salad please, I can’t eat them.” Or “no thanks, I can’t have the sugar right now” people smile and maybe apologize. Very nice. Very polite. If I havent told them about the keto, maybe they assume I have a gluten allergy or I’m diabetic or its a health thing. No one’s ever been mean about it.
But these folks who do have more weight to lose, who are working really hard to meet their personal goals, tell these stories of people giving them hell over it. Because when you’re fat, you can’t do anything right, everything is on the table to critisism, nothing is ever good enough. It’s awful. And its an obvious difference that even I experience, and I’m no magazine model. THIS is “thin privilege”. Once you can be labeled “obese” society has decided that you’re fair game for any level of rudeness.
So, a general reminder: dont be an asshole, especially about other peoples food, weight, or diet. You aren’t their doctor. Don’t be a dick.

I do like this message a whole lot.  Whether it’s keto or any other program, it all starts from “within” - meaning, we have to love ourselves; we have to forgive ourselves; we have to be willing to give ourselves a clean slate to start over.  Many times I started “over and over” but I don’t hold a grudge against myself anymore.  For me, the only thing that has worked is keto.  It lets me eat big. Even fatty foods that satiate. And I have to say when I started to shed pounds, I did start to feel better about myself.  Follow my journey and start yours with me! keto caveman club

This is a very tough challenge and I wonder if I could ever last the four weeks.  And if I did, what happens after that? The thing I like about Keto is that there are legitimate “cheat” meals and snacks that will leave you feeling “guilty” without buyer’s remorse - meaning - you haven’t really “cheated” at all.  Follow me at keto caveman club and see what it did for me.
