February 2nd of 2021, our teacher leaves us a task to read the ppt and also to update our daily blog. The lesson she leaves us was about “Developing Efficient Learning”. It tackled about the brain, brain power, its capabilities, parts, and theories. The brain has always been a fascinating body part. Its delicate, gel-like organ but is considered the most powerful part of the body. Brain power is the ability to think. There are 3 part of the brain ;The Forebrain, Midbrain and Hindbrain. The Forebrain is considered as the biggest part of the brain and it consist of cerebrum, limbic system and cerebral cortex. This part generally controls speech, reasoning, learning, emotional control and memory. The Midbrain part is between the forebrain and the hindbrain. This part is responsible for eye movements and auditory information. And last The Hindbrain is the lower part, comprising the cerebellum, pons and medulla oblongata. There are 4 Lobes of the brain; The Frontal, Parietal, Temporal and Occipital. The Frontal is responsible for the higher level like problem solving, learning and organizing and it also regulates attention, memory and mobility. In the Parietal region integrates sensory data like touch, pain, pressure, and temperature. The Temporal can be found near each ear. It process auditory signals and information. The Occipital can be found at the lower back part of the cortex. It’s Job to visual information like colors, movements and visual stimuli.

2nd of January of 2021, for today’s lesson we tackled about “Encountering Stress As A Part Of Adolescence”. As an adolescent I personally encounter this kind problem where I’m stress about school demands, frustrations and negative thoughts and feelings running around my mind. According to Selye that stress “is a non-specific response of the body to any demand. It is your body’s reaction to certain pressure or challenge or situation whether physical, mental  or emotional. This stimulus that triggers the body to respond is called a stressor.” Both your good and bad experience can create stress and it depend on the stressor and the response of your body either positive or negative. Also there are 3 kind of stress. Acute stress or the most common and short term only. Episodic Acute Stress is a persistent acute stress. And lastly The Chronic Stress, the most damaging type with long-term effects. Adolescence is a period that is marked for many challenges so no wonder that we can really encounter stress as you try to face or cope difficulties. Stress can really affect our health specially our physical health but there are strategies to manage our stress like time management, talk it out to someone, laugh, rest, exercise, have a positive mental attitude and lastly meditate.

Daily Blog #4
Its Saturday 30th of January of 2021; Our teacher leave us a task to read the power point and it tackled about “Dealing with the Challenges of Adolescence Stage. It talks about the challenges that we will face during adolescence stage and how can we manage it. Adolescence is a stage that actually prepares us for adulthood. It is an exciting period but also happen to be a frightening one. As a teenager I can really relate to this topic because of the things happening to us as we transcend from childhood to adulthood. Being in this stage is important because we’re like being trained to face the challenges along the way and be “Initiative”. In adolescence stage there are issues to face too like physical concerns, eating disorders, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, peer pressure, parents and autonomy, relationships, academic concerns and career options and lastly their morality. In order to avoid or face this kind of issues or problems we need advice from our elders or we better need a good communication from others. Being an adolescent is not easy, we face hardships and challenges as we transcend along to being adult but because of that we grow.

29th of January of 2021, we do the usual every 9 am in the morning we pray and we headed straight to our lesson. Today we tackled about “Entering the phase of middle and late adolescence”. This topic is very relatable to us because we are already entered this kind of phase of life. As we transcend from childhood to adulthood there are changes that we already or yet to experience like physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development. According to our teacher adolescence is divided into three stages the early, middle and late adolescence and each development stage in adolescence is characterized by different milestones in the physical, cognitive and socio-emotional domain. There are 4 important principles of development that we need to apply or imply to ourselves as we develop from childhood to adulthood and these are sequential, individualized, gradual and holistic. And lastly we need to know our own identity as we progress in life and we need to accept, adopt and manage this changes

Daily Blog #2
January 28, 2021. We Started our day with a prayer lead by our teacher Ma’am Psyche J. Bahinting, then she group us into several groups for our Performance task. After the grouping of students she started her lessons as well but before proceeding to her actual lesson she ask us a question about a quote by Jay Woodman and we manage to answer that too. Her lesson was all about “Being Mindful With The Self”, it’s about being conscious or aware of ourselves. For example you cannot be fully effective unless you are aware of your yourself. And lastly we discuss about the “Integration of Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviors”. This topic was all about the connection of this three (thoughts, feelings & behaviors) of how is it really affected us a whole. Just like the Theory of Dualism in philosophy that speaks of the independence between the functioning of the mind and body. to simply put this, if we have a thought about something then it triggers our feelings and based on those feeling we engage in our behaviors which in can impact the situation whether if its positive or negative.

Daily Blog #1
Today January 27, 2021, was our first day of our subject Personal Development along with our teacher Ma’am Psyche J. Bahinting. For me she was quite a  fastidious person because she shows great attention to every detail she said. She introduces herself straight forward and proceed to our lesson for this day. I was quite pump up because of our lesson. The lesson was all about “Getting to Know One’s Self” and I enjoy it throughout the lesson. To be honest I was quite nervous because she suddenly calls a student to answer a question and also I am not mentally ready for that because my attention was all over the other side of the screen so I panicked a little a so I listen to all the details she said. Although I cannot remember all that she said but I think I know the gist of the lesson.. I think today’s event was quite fast because of the sudden activity and she also wanted us to make our own tumblr account for our daily blog after every class so we can post our thoughts and experience after class and that’s good.
