Update: sorry for vanishing

So, I disappeared from Tumblr entirely for the past two months, and I feel bad about letting my blog go suddenly inactive for so long with no warning.

I had mentioned my father’s cancer had come back in a more aggressive form. Turns out the chemotherapy treatments did not work this time. My father lost his battle with cancer on June 24th.

I disconnected from all social media because I didn’t want to talk about it. I still don’t know what to say. I spent the last two years of my life scheduling everything around dad’s needs, and now the center of my orbit is gone. It hurts and I feel a little lost. Mom and I are doing all right, but suddenly this house seems huge and empty.

I haven’t had the energy to do any art.

I threw myself into a new playthrough of Dragon Age Inquisition - as a mage romancing Cullen because I need a happily ever after with curly haired children and puppies - because I still haven’t played any of the DLC, and at least in Thedas I can fix things, kind of. Stalled out as usual at WEWH because I detest the monster that is that section of quest. I might just let the Empress get assassinated, breeze through it as fast as possible... because lets face it, all three of the ruling options are terrible people.

Found my little brother’s Animorphs book collection in a box and blew through those in a few days. When I can sit down and art again, I might have to give Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill a try, because aliens and nostalgia.

I’m also helping mom with the innumerable things that need doing; changing things over into her name, paring down vehicles, and surprisingly planning vacations. We’re going to take a 5 day holiday to go see the total solar eclipse in August and knock around somewhere other than this old house for a bit. We haven’t tackled clearing out dad’s closets yet. I don’t think either one of us are ready for it.

So yeah. I’m probably going to be a little spotty at best on updating for another month or so while I deal with things. If you need to get my attention send me a message- any tagged posts will probably get lost in my feed.

Once the price is confirmed, I’ll send you a deposit invoice and once at least half of the price is paid, I’ll start on a rough sketch for your approval. Anything below £40 is payment up front only.

Backgrounds will be relatively simple by default, if a more complicated one is wanted we can discuss prices. This applies to extra props and over-complicated outfits. 

Any fullbody pieces with complete background and full rendered coloring will be over £120 and the price will depend on the complexity of the drawing itself. Please discuss with me for pricing on these. 

If you want a more complex portrait such as this one the base price for those is £80. Please let me know which kind of portrait you’d prefer when ordering these.

My mother is retiring as a high school biology teacher this year. One of the ladies in the Science Department contacted me looking for pictures of mom throughout the years to use in a surprise slideshow thing they’re gonna show at her retirement party tomorrow. I couldn’t find anything from before the birth of my older brother... So I had to ask mom herself where the old photos were.

You guys are my cover. Mom happens to be a fraternal twin and I said I got into an argument about how closely fraternals resemble one another with people on the internet because the Ryder’s are twins, to have a reason to get kid pictures of mom and her sister. So uh yeah. Here’s my mom back when she was all tiny.

And no, I still don’t know which one she is. Well, I can tell which one’s my Uncle Gary.

When I read Sweet Little Lies fanfic, I had a lot of different emotions and, most importantly, inspiration. Especially in chapter 3, when Reyes did not want to let go of Siri, having a premonition of bad. I’m very grateful to @vorchagirl for her fanfics and the inspiration she gives me. What’s your basic…

Outfit: Jeans, shirt, hoodie. I’m primary caretaker for my father during the day.

Shoes to go are:  slip on sneakers.

Makeup: unless I’m going somewhere that requires heels, there will be no gunk on my face. Or I’ve gotten THAT bored (which only happens when the internet goes out.)

Coffee order: I generally don’t order coffee when I’m out - soda girl all the way. But at home, coffee gets heavily modified with creamer and sweetener.

Nighttime routine: tumblr / drawing or painting, wash face, brush teeth, set alarm, pass out in bed.
