Kassidy's Korner enjoyed Mardi Gras 2k15! We spent the morning on Jackson & Willow St. in Uptown New Orleans, where my mother grew up, and we definitely enjoyed the Zulu parade, the first and longest running all black Krewe of Mardi Gras !

Family Feud! 

Hot this week has been the Muva of all Rose Bud's, Amber Rose, this past weekend not only being shaded by Khole Kardashian, but by Kanye West who left her with a frenzy of hashtags #30showers then again by soon to be ex husband, and babies father Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose has yet again given the internet something to talk about. While Wiz through a 2nd birthday bash for their son the only thing that seems to be missing in all the pictures is son, Sebastian. Why might you add? Well that is unknown but we do know that Wiz was extremely unhappy and took to twitter to voice his opinions and frustrations:

not to tear anyone down but to show our similar struggles and not just what the media portrays.

ive never voiced my true unhappiness out of fear of the person I was with and what she would do to make me more unhappy of anyone knew

I know a lot of people have that same fear and I'm just like you.

we need to talk to each more and empower each other to peruse our own happiness because the illusion is strong.

im even at a point where I feel I have no other options and i just need some help.

very greatful for my amazing support system right now. especially my mom and dad. this is tough for them too.

they raised me normal and want the same for my son without the evil that fame brings.

downloading positive vibes. let's all smile at the same time.

standing up for all fathers who need, deserve, or can't find help.

as a man, and a dad you'll feel like " I got this". but who got us?

it's sad because there are real people who go through real things and could use social media as a tool to help shed some light.

Amber not allowing Sebastian may go hand and hand with Wiz and his mother initially shading her on twitter, but do you think it was okay for her to not allow him to spend his birthday with his father? While we do know Wiz and Amber have been feuding for sometime now over the custody of their son, we hope these two can work it out!

After attending a class with a boy who said he'd prefer a rich white girl who was drama free and would give him all the money he wanted. I thought this couldn't be true! All dudes can't possibly think like this, but as the rest of the gentleman in the class said their amens and applauded agreeing that they would indeed prefer a white girl over a black my feelings were in many ways hurt as a black guy attending an HBCU argued with me so assuring in his conclusion why white girls were better than black girls. Following this, I ran into a few other guys who bashed the "average" black female stating that we were not ethnic enough. I was immediately shocked and stunned how could I not be ethnic enough? I love BET. I watch Martin all day. I attend an HBCU. My mother is black. My family is black. My birth certificate states that I am black, and the melanin in this skin I'm looking at damn sure isn't white. Is it because I'd preferred Brazilian hair over my natural roots or the fact that I didn't care too much for organic fruit and cared too much about my appearance wanting to wear make up mini skirts with red bottoms. Instead of my boyfriends button down shirt and some hiking boots. I was in fact lost. I didn't understand how a guy could be out protesting for black rights but at the same time neglect me as a black women for not wanting to be the Ethnic Nubian Queen he'd longed for. I am in queen in fact, I know this, but if I knew it would come down to a certain dress code to be one I would've prepared myself better. I then went on to think, since I am not good enough for the guy who'd prefer a white girl or the guy who said I wasn't ethnic enough for him I must only be good for the aspiring hip hop or known rap artist. Would I be okay then? If I just knew I could only attract the guy who went for the glitz and glam? But what if that was neither the guy I could attract or wanted to attract me. This thought left me stuck for sometime how I understand there are indeed men who would prefer a white girl over a black girl but I am not even good enough for the empowered black man either!? I merrily went into a state of hate for them because I was unsure how you could go out in the world protest for civil rights, boycott against movies such as Gods of Egypt but in the same breath humiliate me as a black women because I was not ethic enough!  This was unheard of for me and was the biggest contradiction I'd had ever seen if I'd seen one! I then understood why a black women could oppress herself. A guy could really sit and argue with you about why a white women is better than a black women but as soon as I make the statement, "You Have A Black Mother", then that's a different story. Then on another note a guy who protest against categorizing blacks categorize [you]. #FoodForThought

Unity within the community. As more stories unfold on the killing of an unarmed teen, Michael Brown, supporters from all over the world have festered no matter the race, age, or color. Two in particular mothers who've constantly been in the media in order to help Lesley McSpadden, mother of Michael Brown, were Valerie Bell, mother of Sean Bell an unarmed black male killed hours before his wedding, and Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin mother of another unarmed slain black male killed on his way home for a convenience store. Throughout everything as sad as it is to see three mothers grow so close for such tragic events, it brings closure to show they are not alone. Though many of us may not have lost loved ones due to situations such as this, at any given time it can be any one of us. Value life, learn to grow, and love to live instead of living to love.

Today we say Rest In Peace to Robin Williams, one of the most influential actors for children movies. Found dead in his California home at age 63, this Oscar winning actor's cause of death was said to be suicide. Still waiting on further details as to what caused him to want to commit suicide, we are shocked that in the midst of all things going on in the media, this definitely put the cherry on top of it all. RIP Mr. Robin Williams, you will truly be missed.

The girl who stirred up the media when she aired out Jay-Z for cheating on Beyonce is back yet again! Yes, side chick Liv is back, and this time she has released a song entitle "Sorry Mrs. Carter." At first I figured this was a typical stunt just to create drama and a minor fan base, but now I am 100% convinced Liv is trying to create a career off allegation she put out saying, Jay-Z was seeing her the same time he was with Bey. This girl, for a lack of better terms, should definitely cope with the fact that she will only be a sideline. As bad as she wants a career, the song is not good, and next time I want her to make sure she gets her editor to proofread the video before releasing anything. You can't make a diss track to Mrs. Carter and not be able to spell. I pray this chick Liv and Solange never run into each other on an elevator, and with that being said we simply ask @YesLivCan to move on with life

In between Joc airing out Karlie the Cougar, Benzino taking this "Ghetto Love" to an entirely different level by getting Althea's body tattooed on his rib, and Mimi finding out Nikko is married yet still believing he's the only man by her side, this seasoned definitely way too much for me. Outside of all this I'm happy Erica, Momma Dee, and Eric's mother are finally burying the hatchet and fixing their relationship. That is a big step after all the madness. On another note, Ms. Karlie Red is yet again single but lately in the media it seems like she's been the cougar of choice for some rappers such as: Chris Brown and Chief Keef. I believe Karlie should have stayed with Benzino, maybe if she did we'd be seeing her at the Bridal shop instead of Althea. Last but no least, because I chose to save this piece for last, Benzino is making a BIG mistake... I mean no prenuptial agreement. So, I'm a tad bit speechless and taken back but... @LilKimTheQueenBee released her "***Flawless" Remix today. Yes, I am and always will be a Lil Kim fan, but for someone who's tired of the public trying to do this comparison between her and Nicki she gives the media a lot of ammunition to do so. I think it's pretty clear now that Nicki has gotten certain aspects of her style from Kim but don't you think that should've been something Lil Kim embraced other than constantly putting out diss tracks towards this Hip Hop/Pop star? Let's not forget when Nicki and Lil Kim did a collab on Gucci Mane's "Freaky Girl" track off Nicki's "Sucka Free "mixtape and they killed it!! I think these two need to work it out and on both ends Kim let's dead the Nicki diss tracks and Nicki at the least if she's not trying to mend something just let the entire situation go, because it's getting pretty old. But on another note, @LilKimTheQueenBee did crash twitmusic so maybe this track is making more noise than we thought.

Wow! Stevie Ryan is going at Kim K and shockingly Kim K actually clapped back! I don't know about you all, but I've been seeing a big difference in this Particular Kardashian lately. First she storms out of the Vienna Ball after Blackface incident and now she's going back at Stevie Ryan. GOOD FOR HER! Now, we're not sure how all this twitter beef came about but we do know Kim Kardashian wasn't having it when Stevie Ryan went to say a Kardashian "hurt her career." But c'mon now, can we please let the Ray J sex tape go.. I mean she's married and has a beautiful little girl. At the ESPY's(Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) held in Los Angeles, Drake and Brian McKnight serenaded the audience with their parody song "Side Pieces". While they made this song in humor and laughter, it seems like social media and many Drake fans took a twisted turn and said a hit was made! While many celebrities in the audience such as; Lil Wayne, Christina Milian, and Blake Grffin laughed that this was actually performed some social media users fell in love with the song immediately!

Police Brutality!? Staten Island resident, Eric Garner, who is a 6-foot-3, 350-pound man with asthma expired Thursday after being put into a chokehold by New York Police Department Officers. After being approached for allegedly selling loose cigarettes, he was taken down by four officers, one in which put Mr. Garner in a Chokehold.

Not only is a chokehold is a violation of NYPD police, a witness caught the entire hoopla on tape! This also seems to be this was not the first time Mr. Garner was confronted by this same police officer, in the video he states,

"Every time you see me, you wanna mess with me! I’m tired of it. It stops today! I’m done. No, what you grabbing me for? everybody said I ain't do nothing. Everybody standing here!They told you I didn’t do nothing. I did not sell nothing. Because every time you see me, you wanna harass me and stop me, talking about I’m selling cigarettes. I’m minding my business, officer. I’m minding my business. Please just, leave me alone. I told you the last time. Please just leave me alone."

While still listening to the video the a witness went on to say

"Once again police beating up on people. All he did was break up a fight, and this what happens for breaking up a fight. This Sh-t is crazy."

Later Mr. Garner went on to say he could not breath where where hew as continuously jumped on a choked. Should police involved be tried with murder? Or will the justice system prevail once again by turning a blind eye to the situation and say Mr. Garner resisted arrest? Either way a good deed turned into the life lost of a father, a friend, a husband, and a son.
