Yuko Shimizu’s illustration, Mass, was published in PLANSPONSOR Magazine on April 2017. It was awarded from the Society of Illustrators in 2018. This interesting illustration depicts a musician is playing different wind instruments. The bells of the wind instruments are arranged in some circular patterns and protrude like some exquisite mustard colored flowers. Also there are many blue birds that surround the musician and the pipes. Furthermore, bright colors and rough texture make a vivid composition and bring a innocent feeling. Overall, the smooth lines and variety of shapes of each pattern create a movement that leads the eye to the focal area.
