じょうじょうs Bizarre Adventure
okay, so there's this guy: 井 (い, (water)well). love him! Hit's include 藤井 (ふじい, Fujii), of course from 風さん (かぜ-さん, Kaze (name)/ wind), 市井 (しせい, street/town), but also 市井の人 (しせいのひと, townspeople), of course 井戸 (いど, water well (specifically)), and, funnily enough, 伊井 (イタリア, Italy), but wait. We need to talk about Kevin:
天井 (てんじょう, ceiling), and they are not alone... 円天井/ 円天井 (まるてんじょう, arched ceiling), 天井灯 (てんじょうとう, ceiling light), 釣り天井 (つりてんじょう, suspended ceiling) like OKAY, i get it ):
but... what about her?: 上 (うえ, over/ above), I know her from 上げる (あげる, raise)、上がる (あがる, rise) and our friends over at 上手 (じょうず, skilled)!!!!、屋上 (おくじょう, )、上等 (じょうとう, superior/ first-class) and LITERALLY 頂上 (ちょうじょう, top/ summit) or even 上昇限度 (じょうしょうげんど, ascending limit), but no, it's not even a difference in concrete vs. abstract bc we literally have these homegirls: ガラス天井 (ガラスてんじょう, glass ceiling), 天井知らず (てんじょうしらず, skyrocketing (prices)). What about 上!? ):
literally じょうじょうs Bizarre Adventure up in this bitch. love. regular kanji nonsense <3
I also remembered シーリングファン so I looked it up again. Color me pissed. <:

In Japanese, they don’t say “moon,” they say “tsuki,” which literally translates to “moon,” and I think that’s how language works.

in 'coolest people alive' news, キタニタツヤs new music video dropped after he had already released the song with a lyric video 2 weeks ago! As far as I can tell, the title is what you write at the end of an episode to mark the preview for the next one (which makes sense with the video, i guess, haha) but anyone please correct me if I'm wrong

just realized that the 外 (そと) in 外国(ガイコク) is the same as in 外巻込 (そとまきこみ) which was my favorite technique growing up doing judo (:

Thank you to the amazing Ambur (@tacoroach) for allowing me to use her cool interpretation of the Great Wave off Kanagawa (神奈川沖浪裏) by 葛飾 北斎 (Katsushika Hokusai) as an icon. I love it! Check out their other work!
