You know it's sad that Sumi would never have been able to protect Miyo, no matter if she had lived. She was just a pawn in the power game. At that time women did not have decision-making power so the moment Shinichi would have discovered Miyo's gift he would have used her as a tool to gain power and prestige. And Sumi would have been discarded. It's so sad that her mother’s act of protection backfired and Miyo suffered so much but thankfully at the end she was able to escape that hell. I like to think that Sumi story was so tragic that before dying she prayed to God so Miyo could find a way to be happy and safe someday. And in a way to honor Sumi's sacrifice, God decided to send Kiyoka.

My Happy Marriage
I found this anime by accident; I hadn't watched anime for a while because I was busy with university things. but because I had finally finished my thesis one day I decided to look for some anime that I liked and slowly go back to watching anime as regularly as I did before, so one day I started watching recommendations on YouTube and the trailer for my Happy Marriage appeared, I clearly remember that I found it interesting and promising. The historical arranged marriage trope is one of my favorites in fiction works, however, I didn’t think it will be good because these types of stories tend to have a lot of miscommunications, immaturity and unhealthy relationships.
However, My Happy Marriage surprises me, it was so good that after finishing the show I had to find the novels an read them. The story is so beautiful, a true romance. The author really knows how to write a gorgeous love story without many of the common tropes like continuous miscommunication or love triangles.  My favorite part is that it demonstrates how a relationship based in love and trust slowly progresses. I had never watched another anime that managed to do this so well, not even my favorite romance anime. This story is a Jewell, so if you like romance stories you SHOULD watch this. And if you loved the anime, you MUST read the novels, they are so beautifully written and add more depth to the characters.
It became my favorite romance anime so far.

2022–23 Japan Figure Skating Championships Women's SP Favorite Dresses (in my opinion).
Since I was searching for inspiration for a fic, I ended watching some figure skating competitions and writing this ranking.
1. Rika Kihira → The Fire Within by Jennifer Thomas: the combination between red and dark blue looked amazing. The gloves give elegance to the outfit, and the dress paired with the thighs look perfect. This is my favorite costume because it matches beautifully the program. it’s made me think in red petals flying on the wind.
Tumblr media
2. Ikura Kushida → Red Violin by Ikuko Kawai (based on Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo): that’s how a red dress should look like, vibrant, alive, and powerful.
Tumblr media
3. Miyabi Oba → Send in The Clowns (from Musical “A Little Night Music”) by Stephen Sondheim: while I usually don’t like white dresses, I liked this one because of the yellow parts, they bring a nice touch to a simple dress.
Tumblr media
4. Marin Honda → Assassin’s Tango by John Powell: this is probably one of the most beautiful black dresses that I have watched in figure skating, it has personality, sexiness, exuberance, and sharpness. It’s suited the program very well.
Tumblr media
5. Rino Matsuike → Papa Can You Hear Me? by Barbra Streisand: pastel colors are not my thing, however this dress looked soft, and sweet like a caress. the combination of soft pink and purple fading into white bring a sense of relaxation and calm.
Tumblr media
6. Ami Nakai → I Got Rhythm by George Gershwin: the neon barbie pink dress looked funny and playfull, perfect for a junior skater. I think this dress matches the skater style really well, the first thing I notice about Ami is how happy she looked during her program and her dress shows this with its color and style.
Tumblr media
7. Hina Takeno → Music from “SAYURI”: Becoming a Geisha, Going to School by John Williams: not my favorite but looked nice.
Tumblr media
8. Rion Sumiyoshi → White Flowers Take Their Bath by Meredi: I liked the blue and white combination, not the style of the dress.
Tumblr media
9. Yo Takagi → Sous le ciel de Paris, Milord by Édith Piaf: I liked the indigo color mostly. I think it has presence.

I know that Celestino was trying to give Phichit a sort of pep talk during the Cup of China by telling him not to worry about Yuuri because he's not used to being the one to beat but it still rubs me the wrong way. I know that Yuuri has trouble with anxiety but he's capable of so much and it just makes me feel like everyone's underestimating him. I guess that's part of the show too but it doesn't make me happy because Yuuri is absolutely incredible and I just wish everyone else would see that.
oof same anon, but the thing that has always annoyed me most about that scene is that Yuuri was Celestino’s student, and Celestino knows that he and Phichit are good friends. It just always left a bad taste in my mouth. Like, maybe try and give your students more sensitive pep-talks without trashtalking other competitors? Especially when the one you’re talking badly about is your former student? There are way better and healthier ways to motivate your students. That really wasn’t it, Celestino. (sdlfjghlksdfhgkl I’m still quite salty about this little scene)
But on the issue of everyone underestimating Yuuri, here are two fantastic metas: [x] and [x] (which say everything I could ever try to say on that issue)
