sometimes i randomly think about the marvelous mrs. maisel and how, like, with joel maisel, the palladinos are finally getting to live all their giddiest christopher hayden daydreams of giving all the screentime in the world to a man who has this central weakness at his core that means he can never be a truly good partner for our heroine, and the myriad ways in which our heroine winds up back in his smoochy orbit anyway, apparently never able to escape the one significant romance of her youth even though she’s outgrown it to a staggering degree. the marvelous mrs. maisel is a damn PLAYGROUND where the palladinos can romp about in this dynamic for untold hours. luke is a woman now, after all – as was originally intended in the gilmore girls pilot – so there’s no WAY luke susie can get in the middle of christopher/lorelai joel/midge because who ever heard of such a thing!!!!! (not the palladinos, apparently.)

but, like, despite all that, a sizable chunk of fandom is just like, “whatevs @ joel and this whole mess, midge/susie for life”

and that really tickles me a whole bunch.

So I haven’t been that active in this fandom for a good long while, but all the lovely new content is pulling me back in. And so I’m working on a new fiiiiiccccc.

I haven’t written these two in forever, and trying to get back in their heads is proving harder than I thought BUT I am now 600 words in to what will hopefully be a 3-4,000 word story. Maybe. Hopefully. We’ll see.
