Carrie White (Sissy Spacek) is a lonely teenage girl with a hellish life. Her mother Margaret is deeply religious and abuses and controls her. At school, shes hated and bullied by her classmates. She also has the power of telekinesis and learns how to use it on her enemies...
I love this film. I cant think of a character in any film you feel worse for than Carrie White. Sissy Spacek is just amazing in this role. Seeing her get her revenge is both tragic and incredibly satisfying.
Good supporting cast featuring John Travolta, Piper Laurie, Nancy Allen and the great P.J Soles.
Incredible direction from Brian DePalma. I love the way the entire prom scene is filmed its brilliant. Carrie was the first film adapted from a Stephen King novel, the movie changed the ending which has said he prefers to the ending in his book.
One of my favourite movies.

Laura Dern is crazy good as Ruth, a homeless drug addict who would get her life together, if only she could stop huffing glue!
After Ruth is jailed and finds out shes pregnant again, she finds herself caught in the middle of an escalating war between Pro-choice and Pro-life activists...
Great 90's dark comedy. Laura Dern absolutely crushes this, she so funny. The scene where she gets in the shouting match with the guy at the traffic lights completely broke me. Inventine jokes, good cast and a great ending. Good stuff.

John Matrix is the best of the best. A retired army commando happily living in seclusion with his daughter Jenny. His old team are killed and then his daughter is abducted by old enemies who want to force him to assasinate a president to get her back. But John has other plans..
Such a fun movie. Great over the top 80's action film. Schwarzenegger totally buff? Its peak Arnold, hes obliterating the competition and dazzling them with intelligent one liners. One of my favourite films growing up.
I love all the villains in this. Bennett is laughably ridiculous looking and his dialogue is so funny. Vernon Wells described his look as "Freddie Mercury on steroids". David Patrick Kelly is hilarious as one of his goons, hes great in everything.

PROBLEMISTA- 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Alejandro is an immigrant from El Salvador who loses his job and is forced to take a job as the assistant to an eccentric artist who pushes everyone's buttons.
Loved some of the special effects, art design and general creative way this was filmed. Also found Julio Torres likable in the lead role. The Tilda Swinton character i just found annoying rather than funny.

BIO-DOME- 1996 ⭐️⭐️
Yikes!
Two lazy bozos get trapped in a scientic experiment that isolates them from society for a year. These two fellas particularly Pauly Shore was insanely, obnoxiously and relentlessly unamusing.
The film does have good 90s vibes and a good supporting cast which is what made me interested in the film, but the two main guys are absolutely awful. Great soundtrack though.

THE IDEA OF YOU- 2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Solene is a single mum in her 40's who takes her daughter to Coachella for a meet and greet with the boy band August Moon. After a chance meeting she begins an unexpected romance with one of the boys, Hayes Campbell.
A mostly winning romance with some good chemistry between the leads and some fun moments. A little too long, they got back together and broke up too much and it lost its impact, this should have been 90 minutes for sure.

Stylish, very pleasing prequel to The Omen. Pretty damn spooky! A few really good jump scares and gross moments. The hand coming out the pussy was obnoxious, really gave me the wiggins. I love films set in Italy.

Ok this was fun. Great cast. Enjoyable story and concept. Buckets of blood. Light hearted vampire film with plenty of thrills and gore. Melissa Barrera continues to crush, shes a star.

GOON- 2011 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Doug Glatt is a simple minded bouncer with a heart of gold. He goes to an ice hockey game with his friend and gets in a brawl with one of the pro players and knocks him out cold. The manager of the Halifax Highlanders recruits him to be a Goon, an ice hockey player who fights to protect his team. Doug is a natural and soon wins the hearts of the fans with his brilliant brawling. The Highlanders start to improve and go to the playoffs which puts him on a collision course with Ross Rhea, the toughest goon in all of Ice Hockey....
Absolutely love this film. So underated its crazy. Its an uplifting and action packed sports film which also happens to be sweet and hilarious.
Seann William Scott is great as Doug the Thug, such a likable guy, one of his best roles.
Liev Schrieber is fantastic as Ross Rhea, an interestingly written final boss that isnt at all the one dimentional character youd find in most films like this. The build to the fight between them is excellent, i like the diner scene. The fight itself is bloody and gripping.
Bunch of funny guys on the team. "We're playing divorced guys" "Two rules man, dont touch my percocets, and do you have any fucking percocets man?" Good stuff.
Alison Pill is great as Doug's love interest Eva, real good chemistry between them.
Another great part of the film is the Laflamme and Doug storyline. Them going from enemies to friends is such a pleasure to watch, always puts a smile on my face.
Goon has real heart and is endlessly rewatchable.
One of my favourite movies.

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is a retired boogeyman devestated by the passing of his beloved wife. She leaves him a surprise dog which gives his life new meaning. A group of thugs break into his house, steal his car and kill the dog. He arms himself to the teeth and goes on a warpath...
One of my favourite action movies ever. So many insane fight sequences, Reeves is the man. Such an easy film to rewatch, a real comfort watch.

CIVIL WAR- 2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In the future, the United States are torn apart by a bloody civil war which rages out of control.
A group of photographers/journalists drive to the White House to try to get an interview with the President before he is killed....
Very enjoyable and cleverly made film. Some really tense scenes especially the Jesse Plemons one, cool sunglasses. Kirsten Dunst is great in literally everything. Good war movie.

THIS IS THE END- 2013 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jay Baruchel always stays with his best friend Chef Rogen when he stays in L.A. Rogen convinces him to go to a party at James Francos house, he goes begrudgingly as he doesnt like anyone there. During the party, the apocalypse happens and the surviving actors try to work out why they didnt get to go to heaven, and contend with the demons that now run the streets....
Great comedy film. I love the premise. Michael Cera's absolutely hilarious. Pretentious Jonah Hill is gold. Love Danny McBride basically being Kenny Powers. Lots of good stuff going on. Dont like the second half nearly as much as the first but overall a great watch.

DR GIGGLES- 1992 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A deranged serial killer/whack doctor escapes from a mental institution and goes on a killing spree. He takes a liking to Jennifer, a teenage girl with a big heart (that he wants).
Ok i expected this to be absolutely awful, which it was. But it was also strangely watchable. Fun early 90s vibes and the slasher format worked well. The dr was trash i couldnt stand his fucking ass but was occasionally so dumb youd chuckle a bit. Mark this up as a guilty pleasure. Nice to see my man Glenn Quinn, Rest in Peace.

I enjoy this sequel, i like the setting, i like the action, i like the Bill Paxton.
Danny Glover agreed to be in this film because "he knew of few films where a black man fought a supernatural being".

NEVER BACK DOWN- 2008 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Never give up. Never back down.
Jake is left with major anger issues after his dad dies in a car wreck. He moves to a new school and quickly falls for Baja (a lady). He goes to a party she invites him to only to be beaten down in front of the whole school by martial arts bully Ryan McCarthy. After the humiliating defeat, Jake starts training in MMA under the tutilage of his new mentor Mr Miyagi, i mean Jean Roqua. He gets bigger and better, but is he good enough to beat Ryan at the beatdown?
Fucking love this film. Unfairly slated. Sure its cliche filled and insanely predictable, but who cares? I certainly dont. Never Back Down is action packed and a total blast, love all the fight scenes and great training montages that get you pumped up. Enjoyable characters and cast. Djimon Hounsou great in the mentor role. Cam Gigandet is an underated villain, between this and Twilight his legacy is eternal. This film has a great feel good factor for me and gives me big nostalgia. Love it.
One of my favourite movies.
