Not a headcanon but more of a set of questions! I’ve recently been cast as Rumpleteazer in a production of Cats and I was wondering what advice you’d give me with regards to what her relationships are with the other cats? I can’t decide whether Mungojerrie is her sibling or her mate and if he was her sibling who else do you think she would mate with? Do you think she would spend all her time with Mungo or be friends with the other cats too? And is she an adult or just one of the older kittens? I’m so sorry to ask so many questions but this is actually really important to me :’)

Congrats on being cast as Rumpelteazer! I’m sure you’ll do great! I hope you have fun in your part. (Because that is, afterall, what it’s all about isn’t it?)

Hmm, well, the relationships in show are completely up to you, your other cast members and your director. My advice would be to experiment with things, find out what works for you and every one else. Talk about it with your cast mates, have a big old conversation and throw ideas around. Keep it lose and open to change, don’t force anything and these sorts of things will develop. 

If you want my personal opinion on the matter, I see Mungo and Rumpel as fraternal twins, with Mungo being the classic “well I’m the oldest by like three minutes so I’m in charge” type.  I dig the idea of Skimble and Jenny being kind of parent figures for the rapscallions (though I haven’t decided what I like for biological parents). 

I figure that she’s a young adult (late teens or early twenties in human years) but hangs around with the kittens more because they’re more fun to be around. And I do see her spending a lot of time with her brother, as they manage the best mischief together. (whether or not she knows about the Macavity business is another matter)

I don’t really see her as mating with anyone, as she seems more the type to be into other things rather than settling down.

After Grittlebone escaped the ship Growltiger and his crew were sailing on, she was noticed by Macavity for her speed and agility in getting away, and her willingness to backstab Growltiger. She was soon recruited by Macavity, and that’s why she is mentioned along with Mungojerrie in “Macavity”.

Long Overdue Update

Hello all my lovely little kittens!

As you are no doubt aware if you’ve been following jellicleheadcanons for a while, I’ve taken a rather lengthy hiatus from this blog and haven’t been keeping up with it as well as I should have. My personal life has been rather all over the place busy and I haven’t had a lot of time to update and make the graphics. (I know I know, sounds like a familiar song, doesn’t it?) I’m very sorry for this! Thank you all for your incredible patience with me. Truly, I don’t deserve it. 

But onto the good news! Now that I’m on my summer break, I have more free time to get everything in order and will resume regular posting sometime in the next week or so. 

A small change of procedure! In order to make it easier on your mod, I’ve made a small change to submissions. I’ve decided that if you have submitted a headcanon to the blog, even if it’s not in the graphic format, I will post it as is. This way, it’s easier for me to keep up with all the submissions I get. Headcanons sent in the form of asks will still get a graphic made (though perhaps a touch simpler).

Hi I'm new to the cats fandom and have noticed people calling some of the girls queens and I don't know why could you please explain it to me

Hey there! Welcome to the fandom!

From what I understand, the term “queen” is used to refer to an unaltered female cat.  In other words, one who has not been spayed or “fixed”. Also used to refer to one that is pregnant/nursing.  Some people call spayed female cats “molly”. 

I assume the fandom collectively calls all the females “queens”  because it sounds more elegant and dignified than simply “female cats”.
