here is 21yo Daniel Radcliffe on a 2010 episode of QI at the exact moment he's being told that "muggle" used to be American slang for a person who smokes weed
today I was waiting for someone in my parked car and overheard a guy on a nearby porch say to someone on the sidewalk (I presume a neighbor) "oh that's Eric, he's our housemaid, he practices hockey" and then a few minutes later a dude with a thick beard came out of the house wearing one orange sock and one black sock and started stickhandling what appeared to be a tiny bouncy ball in the driveway. some days this world just chooses joy
doing some weekend woodworking out on the porch, sawing and hammering and so forth, and then two of my neighbors on either side started using power tools within a few minutes of each other, and while I'm sure we were all just independently inspired to work on our own projects it sure did feel like I started a howl
I have been trolling your bookmarks on Ao3 for Winterhawk content and I want to say thank you for introducing me to the fic I just started reading. I’m one chapter in and just holy hell is it good.
glad you found something you liked! fyi my favorite fics are bookmarked on my fandom Pinboard—if I'd anticipated this phenomenon of people using AO3 bookmarks as recs, I might not have set up my systems this way XD
even as a small child I understood in a very general sense that the nipple torture scene in The Princess Bride was kinky, but only in retrospect am I seeing the formative impact the whole "as you wish" dynamic had on me. the eye contact in that one scene where she tells him to get her the pitcher that's already within her reach? Westley was a thirsty lil bottom-ass bitch all I'm sayin
do you ever think about how if you dive into the ocean and go deeper and deeper you will pass through layers of darker and darker blue until everything is black and cold and the pressure will be so intense that it will kill you without protection but if you keep going you will find little glowing specks of light, and if you go up into the sky and go higher and higher you will pass through layers of darker and darker blue until everything is black and cold and the pressure will be so intense that it will kill you without protection but if you keep going you will find little glowing specks of light
imagine having taste mainstream enough that you just rely on the fandom zeitgeist to dictate your reading choices. imagine WANTING to screen out all the weird offbeat experimental fic that doesn't get kudos. fuckin wild
Another AO3 thing I’m curious about, how do yall decide if something is good enough to read? Usually I follow a rule of 1 kudos for every 10 hits. One because it’s easy math and two it’s yet to fail me. Thoughts? Do you just go for it and pray it’s good?
