I still don't understand why Sophia is with Ashlyn. Does she not realize that she was being lied to? Have some self-respect, girl. Why are you with someone who has lied to you from the very beginning? And when that person eventually lies to/about you then what??

On the article she explained that Ashlyn gave her support on a bad moment and something changed. It's a beautiful story and all, but she is forgetting that: homegirl doesn't know what her beau told her ex-wife, cause again, look at how the whole soccer world, INCLUDING the sport journalism, is against Ashlyn (as a side note, Sophia's article destroyed pretty much all the remaining sympathy they had in sports press.)

Honestly? I think she trully believes on whatever the story Ashlyn told her and she believes it so much, that she is ready to cut people out for trying to warn her. From what I heard from a source, it was why she unfollowed Merritt and it's probably why she is avoiding talking about soccer. When a person is in love and believes this blindly in the other, there's nothing anyone can do about it, there's nothing you can say that will change their mind unless they see it for themselves, so the only thing you can do is just support the person and hopes for the best, that's for them realize they are being lied to.

Why are you with someone who has lied to you from the very beginning? And when that person eventually lies to/about you then what??

I have a personal theory for this based on Sophia's interviews/podcasts and on some articles/books I read about teen tv shows and for my therapy over the years that what Sophia is doing is mostly compensating the time she has lost by connecting a job into other and the 3 years on quarantine we had plus the nearly death experience she had last june plus the sexuality euphoria (it's the happiness you have when you finally finds out you are queer, you finally can be open about it and experience this aspect of your life) and she is so connected with Ashlyn introducing that freedom to her and giving her the support she wasn't having from Grant or any of her friends that she can't imagine that she has been lied to, cause that person is so important to her that she can't risk losing her.

It's why she is so adamantly defending Ashlyn, even though it's becoming very clear she was leading Sophia on on that divorce's story. She doesn't want to questioning herself again, even though Ali was speaking the truth when she said she knew about the divorce through though press and it's impossible to 90% of the soccer world saying Ashlyn lied to Ali about the divorce cause her plan was to Ali know about when she was cited in court (which is a fairly common legal procedure when you don't want to deal with your ex.). Sophia simply chose to ignore the red flags, just like she did Grant, just like she did with JSL and CMM.

She will only realize what is going on when it happens to her the same thing that it happens to Ali (When Ashlyn finds support in other person and keeps lying to her). Until them, she will create excuses for Ashlyn's behavior to herself and blame the woso fandom or Ashlyn's haters, like she did in her article. It's why, as a fan, I already accepted whatever will happen and I am just enjoying watching as a movie. Pretty that's the same her closer friends and family are doing.

Everyone is trying to make someone into villain or a victim with the Ash/Ali/Sophia situation and I think much like life, it isn’t that simple. I think Ali seems like an amazing teammate/friend/mother. She’s driven, funny and clearly a very hard worker.

Ash seems like she is a really good partner. Moved to Germany, moved to DC, helped Ali get back on the USWNT, waited to get married until Ali was ready to be public, moved to NY when I think she would have preferred to retire in Florida.

My theory (which could be wildly incorrect) is that Ash wanted to be put first with Ali and had really struggled with the move to NY after not making the Olympic team and her grandparents passing and injuries, etc. and Ali was focused on being the captain of the team and this was her last season. Maybe she thought she could fix it after the season.

I honestly can empathize with both of them. You can call Ash selfish for wanting to be put first or you could call Ali selfish for asking Ash to wait until she was ready to announce their separation. In the end, we are all selfish and none of that makes either of them bad people.

It's why i keeping saying that putting my bias toward Ashlyn aside, she was right in wanting to leave Ali, Ali was right to wanting her last dance, especially with her dad in the conditions he was, and that Sophia was right to leave Grant cause it was very clear since April 2023 that he was more interested in other stuff than being married with her and start a family. But people overall wanted to force Ashlyn to accept her only value was as Ali's glorified nanny and accepting all Ali wanted without questioning cause Ashlyn has become an insufferable person over the years and this is the only way she is tolerable. But all these women are more than that and more than just their relationship.

I, too, don't think that Sophia and Ashlyn are going to last because if someone could treat their long-term relationship with such disrespect, then chances are they're not going to treat their new partner with any respect either. How long do you think until Sophia starts posting pictures of them together?

Man, the biggest proof of this is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. When the news broke out, everyone ignored that Brad cheated on Jen Aniston really quick cause it was Angelina Jolie in the other hand and Jen was trashed for not wanting to have kids and focusing in her career. To the causal audience/general public, this was an outrageous act for a woman cause he was the pinnacle of masculinity and all straight girls wanted him. Flashforward to 2016 when they divorce news broke out and we find out Brad is a terrible partner, he did dometic violence with her and their kids and he was having an affair with one of his employees when she was treating for breast cancer (the disease that killed her mom).

I am not saying this will happen with Ashlyn and Sophia. What I want to say with this is that this relationship starts with them looking for emotional support in other people outside regular known circle of friends, they are acting the same way they both do in their past relationships, so all indicates that their relationship has a high probability of ending the same way their respective marriages ended. As I stated before, there's nothing yet that shows me anything different (Sophia even did an article to say how amazing Grant was to a magazine, to explain how they fall in love...)

How long do you think until Sophia starts posting pictures of them together?

I am betting today or tomorrow for the WHCA. The cat is already out of the bag, she already told everyone how awesome her new beau is and how in love she is. So, she is free to post it (and they are going to be trashed for it)

I don't really believe that Sophia/Ashlyn cheated but if they did, do you honestly think that they would admit it? People were mad when their relationship became public and it looks like that Sophia interview sort of backfired because people are now even angrier.

Honestly? They wouldn't, especially cause Sophia dragged Chad's face in the asphalt for years for cheating on her.

No offense, I love her to the bones, like most of my female rpg' characters have her as faceclaim, but I laughed my ass off over people reaction to this article (my fave comment so far it was one calling Ashlyn of 'Jojo Siwa in her 40s'), cause this was clearly her putting herself on fire to defend Ashlyn from woso fandom and put a good light on her girlfriend to the casual audience, but it ended with causual audience praising her for coming out and trashing AH using the same arguments from the woso fandom.

It was why I said weeks ago that the stunt they pulled in award season wasn't going to work and neither any other attempted to launch Ashlyn to the casual audience/general public, causual audience is not interested on the truth, they want gossip and to see celebrity's blood, and woso fandom is giving that to them. They rather believe that Ashlyn is a cheater and Sophia is being fooled by the "mean mischievous butch" than see that Krashlyn marriage was already dead since 2022 and that Sophia married Grant mostly to check a box in the heteronormative list, and that it was a matter of time for both couples to split. There's just two ways to clean this mess and it's very clear that they are not willing to go there to do it, so the best we can do is enjoy the ride and watch it crash and burn.

Brace yourselves, cause today is WHCA, and there's going to be a lot of blood in social media cause Sophia will be there and Ashlyn probably will tag along. I'm most curious to see how it's going to affect their social media and internet impressions. And once again I have to praise Sophia for knowing how to play this PR game, cause the Article came out on a very good timing, it's why I keep saying that Ashlyn has to pray for this relationship to work or to end in good terms, cause depending on how this ends, she will get 1000x more hate than what she is getting right now.
