Jasper preferred the back roads of Frostford. They were less-travelled, known only to the locals and blessedly barren of the out-of-town dickheads who didn’t know how to drive. It was nearing dusk, the sun already beginning to kiss the horizon, orange hues merging with pinks, not a damn cloud in the sky.

It was the perfect time of day for a ride. So maybe Jasper got a little into it, lead foot getting a bit ahead of him, rounding corners with low leans that almost had him eating it. It was the thrill of it, really, the fresh fall air brisk and biting. It was freeing in a way not much in Frostford was – so of course it all came barreling to an end with the sound of sirens and flashing red and blue.

“Fuck,” Jasper cursed, putting on the brakes as he pulled over to the side of the dirt road, already working himself up, ready to play fast and loose with whatever asshole had pulled him over.

He’d just taken off his helmet when he heard the tell-tale crunch of boots against rubble. Jasper turned, sarcastic retort primed and ready, when he saw who it was. Son of a bitch, of course it was Jason, the bastard.

He cocked a brow, leaning forward, smirk already creeping at the corners of his mouth. “Well, I should’ve known there’s only one cop in town with the balls to pull me over,” he drawled. “This how you ask me to hang out now?”

Being in a small town and having no criminals around could get boring after a while, especially for someone like Jason, who craved constant stimulation and instant gratification. He’s always thought, if he wouldn’t have become a police officer, he would’ve had been a criminal probably. Of course that statement was reserved for close friends and his sibling Elliot, he wouldn’t admit that to others.

Patrolling around aimlessly, Jason’s lips curled into a smirk once he spotted his friend Jasper, he was probably the only person who could stomach him in this town, maybe even in this state. Also, he was probably the only person who would drive that fast. Of course, that gave Jason an idea. He turned on the sirens as he slowly approached Jasper, not rolling the windows until he opened the car’s door. His movements were terribly slow, he could only imagine the look on his friend’s face, which made his smirk wider. As you can easily tell, Jason loved fucking with his friends.

Bursting into a laughter at Jasper’s reaction, he put his hands on his pockets. “I got you there, didn’t I?” He said, still laughing. “Please.. Don’t insult our department like that.” Jason added with a nod. “Maybe. My shift is about to end and I don’t have any plans. I bet you don’t either.”

Though honestly,” he kept talking as Jason walked him off, “if you were less of a dick maybe you’d get punched in the face less.” He stopped once Jason read him his rights, humming softly on their walk out to his car. “Are you even on duty right now?”

“Since when telling the truth means being a dick?” He scoffed, refusing to take accountability for his actions. If you asked Jason, he was always in the right. “I am always on duty.”

WATCH A MOVIE? BONNIE HATES movies, but she forces herself to watch them due to her son. She beamed at him. ❛ Okay… ❜ With that, she handed him the control, so he could pick up a movie for both of them. She’s mentally hoping that her baby did not wake up. To enjoy the ‘adult’ moment by herself.

❛ Well, Jason, I’m a box full of surprises. ❜ She sat by his side, sipping her whiskey as she stared at him with the pair of blue-greyish hues, and feeling her heartbeats racing a little bit, for being unsure in what to do around of him.

❛ I’m a bourbon fan, actually. Followed by champagne and white wine. ❜ She crossed her legs, holding her glass, resting her back on the backrest from the sofa. Relieved to not watch out her son.

His brow raised at Bonnie’s reaction. “We don’t have to watch a movie.” He smirked, shrugging. He highly doubted Bonnie would enjoy the type of movies he enjoyed anyway. He shifted in the couch, slightly moving closer to her.

“I can tell.” The biggest surprise was her kid of course, and it certainly wasn’t a pleasant one but he knew better not to say that out loud.

“Bourbon? You are definitely full of surprises.” Champagne and wine were expected, most of the women he’s met liked them. Jason took a sip from his whiskey, shifting again, so he could face Bonnie better. “

The second he heard the yelling of his name, he could feel that something was wrong. But never in his wildest dreams had he expected Jason to find his notebook. And when he saw him hold it, the glass that had been resting in his hand smashed against the floor. Eyes went wide, breathing got more intense. Now this wasn’t exactly something he ever wanted to experience. He wanted to keep his feelings a secret. He didn’t want to scare someone away just because of something as normal as the matter of the heart. But he could see it in his eyes and that broke his heart. He didn’t even need to say anything, he just knew that this would end badly.

Walking up to him, he pulled the book away from his hands and held it against his hammering heart. “Why the fuck did you feel the right to look in my private notebook?” he asked. He didn’t want to show just how scared he was. No, he showed the other side. The angry side.

Jason felt silent, not because he didn’t know what to say, because he certainly did but he didn’t know how to say them, he needed to consider the facts; Teo was his co-worker, he had to face him every day, so he just couldn’t say whatever came to his mind. He breathed through his nose, not necessarily hiding his anger.

His question made him scoff, Jason couldn’t believe Teo’s nerve. “Are you fuckin’ serious?” Jason spat, throwing the notebook to the other side of the room. “I should be the one asking questions here. Why the fuck do you have these in your notebook?” Jason knew why, he wasn’t stupid but part of him was hoping for a reasonable explanation, an explanation he could get on board with.

But it wasn’t like Jason knew that. “Yeahhh. God forbid anyone in this town take accountability,” she agreed with a weary sigh. But she didn’t harp on about it, because unlike Jason, Hope wasn’t a whiner.

“Right? No one owns their shit.” As if he was in place to judge anyone. “Do you see the blonde over there?” Jason pointed the petite blonde girl with a baby with a judgmental look, shaking his head. “Her daughter grabbed me few months ago, that’s where I got the leash idea.”

Leo watched, waiting for Jason to do something about it. Of course it wasn’t exactly the reaction he figured, but it was enough. He shrugged. “Worth it.” Of course he wasn’t going to fight it. He was stupid, but not that stupid. Surely he’d be out by tomorrow morning as half the town was waiting for it. someone would bail him out. “I’m sure you know how to take care of a bruise. daily limits on Tylenol and whatnot.” If Jason was going to do his job, he may as well do his own.

“Yeah you can tell that again when you put your ass in cell.” The sheriff was probably make Jason drop the charges but until then, he was happy to have the upper hand. “This is not the first time I’ve been in a fight, I know what to do.” He rolled his eyes. “It’s the first time I got attacked for telling the fucking truth though, I gotta give you that.” Jason said before reading Leo his Miranda rights and handcuffed him.

“Frostford missed you too.” Despite his boring life in Frostford, Jason loved his life in it. “Of course I do.” He teased as he hugged her back, lingering a little. “I gotta hear those stories.” He was hoping for something juicy of course. “I am good. Working as a police officer now, I have my own place but still tight with my parents.” He shrugged. “How about you? You are the one with stories, you gotta tell.”

Leo didn’t know what came over her. He stood there looking at Jason while his blood started to boil. Did he have feelings for Lana? Real, true, feelings. He wasn’t sure. What they were doing was fun. There was no strings attached, at least coming from his side. He was having fun. If he could go around and sleep with whoever he wanted as a male, why the fuck couldn’t she? Now the story Jason told sounded like bullshit. Lana Rowe didn’t seem like the type who would do such a thing. Without realizing, his body was reacting to the harsh words and he found himself hitting the other. Taking a step back afterwards, he realized the repercussions of actually punching a police officer in the face. He figured while Dixie Drug may be open tomorrow, the pharmacy wouldn’t be.

No one was surprised about the punch, it was a long time coming, not from Leo of course but whole town knew it was about time someone was going to punch Jason one way or another, even himself wasn’t surprised. He loved pushing people’s buttons, he loved belittling them, humiliating them in public, so there was going to be a push back, there was no about about it. This wasn’t an idea situation by any means, not only he got punched, he was also got punched in front of his brother and his satanic girlfriend, then there was Lana and his co-worker Hope. The punch didn’t hurt him physically, he’s been in several physical altercations before. He might have not been the best fighter but Jason knew how to fuck with people and that’s exactly what he was going to do. After a moment of silence, he let out a mocking laugh, touching his cheek and glared at Leo. He was smirking, just like one of those obnoxious Marvel villains. “I hope you do know you just got assaulted a police officer and I have no other choice but arrest you for it.” His hands immediately went for handcuffs, still smiling despite the ache he was experiencing.

“Alexis Keller is young too and she ain’t having fun like the way this one does.” They were around same age but they were two polar opposites. “Please... “ He scoffed, clearly appalled by such an assumption. “I wouldn’t even spit on her even if she begged. Dude, you know shit about her. That little whore dated my brother for years, long ass relationship, some serious shit, then Elliot went to college and next thing he knew, she’s sleeping with her best friend.” Okay, this certainly wasn’t the real story, Lana slept with her best friend after she’d broken up with him but it was still an unforgivable mistake in Jason’s book. “Why the fuck are you defendin’ her? Unless --- ” Oh god, Jason thought. He shook his head in disbelief. “Have some fuckin’ standards, man.”

He was so nervous, he could actually hear the beating of his heart. It was starting to make his ears ring, maybe he should calm down and be more subtle? Turning his gaze towards Jason, he nodded and flashed him a soft smile. “Yeah, hold on” standing up, he made his way over to the kitchen to get Jason some of the beer he had left.

Once Teo left for the kitchen, Jason’s nosy ass couldn’t sit still and he started wandering around, he actually really enjoyed getting familiar with his friends’ houses, he’s always been, hence why he wanted to become an FBI agent back in time. Jason thought his nosiness could’ve been an asset, little he knew he actually worked harder than he could ever imagine. His plans didn’t go the way he wanted to of course, now he was stuck in this small town, trying to kill his boredom by creating chaos. A particular item grabbed his attention, it was a notebook, most likely a journal. And that just made Jason even more curious than he’s already was. Completely regarding the fact that this was an invasion of privacy, he grabbed it and started going through its pages, it was full of writings, Jason didn’t have time nor the patience to read them, so he kept going through until he’d spotted a drawing.

“What the fuck?” He said not-so-under his breath, mouth wide open. It was clearly his own drawing -- it was a good one he had to admit, still though it made him very uncomfortable. “TEO!” His loud was loud, still staring at the drawing.

Was it the best way to spend the time? Absolutely. Hearing the officer pick various ways as to how everyone would be arrested was by far his best idea yet. For the most part. “Is jaywalking really an issue? Do cops actually arrest people for that? Like, I guess you could get a ticket, but really?” He listened on, tilting his head a little as he moved onto Hope. He had just taken a sip of his cider when he pointed at Lana, choking on it before looking up at him. “Adultery? Come on,” he rolled his eyes.

“This is a small town, everythin’ is an issue.” Jaywalking wasn’t a big deal but Jason had been looking for a reason to arrest Charlie ever since she’s sassed him. His brow raised in confusion once he’d heard the noise Leo made, his shoulders shrugged. “She slept with the half of town, hell maybe the whole town, who knows? Adultery is an understatement at this point.”
