Mikado Ryuuamine : That’s dangerous. Knives. Izaya Orihara: This knife is to keep him in check. His violence is much more dangerous. If I can protect myself from major injuries with just this one knife, don’t you think it’s useful? Mikado Ryuuamine : I……guess so……

Izaya Orihara: It’s pretty rare to get a call from you that you want to see me. Did something happen? Mikado Ryuugamine: Actually……in earnest, I wanted some advice. Izaya: From me? What’s with this, being on ceremony? Mikado Ryuugamine: yes. In order to face the underground of Ikebukuro, I’ve recently been thinking: That I can’t keep going on like how things are right now. That……I have to get stronger. Izaya Orihara: ……Hmm. And? Mikado Ryuugamine: And so what I mean by advice……I thought you could teach me how to throw a knife. Izaya Orihara: (What kind of turn is this!?) Mikado Ryuugamine: You can get the better of Shizuo-san with your knife throwing, right? I think if I can throw a knife I could change the world! Headcanon that Izaya & Mikado stay up all night on Mikado's school night in the chat talking to eachother & then Izaya realises it's like 2Am & he caps locks at Mikado to goto bed.

omgomgomgomg YES this probably has happened in canon!! i mean just look at when they talk on the phone in vol 5, Mikado doesn’t even sleep that night!

They can talk for hours about everything and anything under the sun, and totally lose track of time. Izaya probably gives up on multi-tasking for work, too, and just devotes the rest of the night to talking to him. People come in and out of the chatroom but they keep a steady chat going on PM and there’s never any awkward silences~until Mikado falls asleep on the keyboard lol
