The Filipino Language
In Philippines, we use the language Filipino the standardized form of Tagalog. In my home, it’s our mother tongue that’s why we are hardly express ourselves in English. According to the TFE Times that Tagalog is the fifth most spoken language in the United States, ranking higher than Vietnamese, Korean, German, Arabic and Russian. For me our language (Filipino) is one of the best languages that people can learn to show their appreciation and love to us Filipinos.
I am using this language every single day. If you want to know what are the words we usually say here are some
We use “po” and “opo” for polite conversations and mostly heard if you’re talking to an elderly as a form of respect. Example is “Ang ganda niyo po.”
Next is “maganda or ganda” means beautiful and “pogi or gwapo” means handsome. Example sentence is “Ang ganda ng mga bulaklak”, “Magandang Umaga”, “Ang pogi mo naman”, and “Ang gwapo mo pag nakangiti”.
And lastly I love you in Tagalog is “Mahal kita”.
There are literally words that are easy to remember and to learn. If you really want to have knowledge and love to our country, you can express it in such ways like speaking in Filipino language.
Although, there are some words that really comes from Spanish since we’re colonized for 333 years, it’s remarkable and lovely to hear.
I am so proud that I’m fluent in speaking it and I love that other countries will love and share the uniqueness and importance of it to our lives.
