I’m always obsessed with oyster shells (and it doesn’t hurt that oysters are delicious too!) . So I made a little love letter to their form for the @greenpoint_art_circle group show on the theme of Marine City . The opening reception is tonight, March 12 from 6-10pm, including art projection and musical performances . The show will be on view through April 3 . ✨big art news✨ 2022 is looking up: it’s barely February and I’m already preparing for a solo show…! I’m really excited to share colorful, ambiguously-maplike watercolors through the month of March. ✨big art news:✨ If you can get yourself to New York—(specifically Manhattan)(specifically West 20th between 7th and 8th)— you can now see NINE of my imaginary map drawings, including brand new and never-before-shown pieces, live and in person!! It’s been so long and I’m really excited 🎉 . “Mindscapes” is a two-person exhibition integrating the work of Emily Garfield and Kelly Olshan. Both artists create places that do not exist; topographical maps, abstract puzzles and impossible staircases interweave throughout the exhibition. . Working with @kellyolshanfineart was a dream (we’re already talking about future collaborations!) and you have to go see this in person to experience how the works play off and inform each other. The process was more intimate and personal than any multi-person show I’ve worked on, and the result is clearly fantastic. .
