Your mind disintegrates
You’ve lost control
Of your bodily functions
You cling to the wreckage
You’re living with dementia
Advanced dementia
Your ego’s shattered
Let it go
You’re accidentally Zen
A thread survives, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 thread
Your core being
You breathe, it answers
Follow the guide
Follow your breath
Let go for a while
Float a while
In the ocean of life everlasting
And forget the forgetting

Free theme with blue/purple links
I use the Colinear theme. It’s fine but for one thing. Links are blue but visited links are black, and so invisible. Is there a free theme with blue links and purple visited links?

Blog News: 'Tw*t' removed

Blog News (a new feature!)
August 2023
Some linked posts, new and not so new
From Muslim killer Modi to Iraq war criminal Blair to all-round disaster Brexit in several complicated moves
I’ve removed all instances of ‘tw*t’ as an insult from my blog, soothfairy. It’s not as obvious, but it’s the same as the c-word. I realised (too late) men saying ‘tw*t’ as an insult is wrong.…

Shock: Musk says something sensible / Book cover: Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson
100 years ago the UK Social Credit movement said technology could mean leisure if the state paid a ‘dividend’ to all.
As Elon Musk said to (useless) UK PM Rishi Sunak at a November 20123 conference, AI means no one will need to work if they get a universal high income (not a universal basic income).
At, say, £20k for…

Posts: Hindutva in Leicester, the Iraq war, Brexit...
I’ve written a post about Hindu-supremacist involvement in last year’s Leicester riots:
The riots: Hindutva in Leicester?
During the Leicester riots, a self-important stirrer had muddied the water. He’d been exposed as an Islamist. But could the reporter who exposed him be trusted after what the Hutton report said about him?
The reporter was Andrew Gillingham, the BBC journalist who exposed the…

What did Philip K Dick think of Blade Runner?
What did Philip K Dick think of Blade Runner?
Dystopia: future Los Angeles | Warner Bros
Genius sci-fi writer Philip K Dick died (aged 53, from two strokes) shortly before the superb movie Blade Runner (adapted from Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) was released.
Shamefully, Dick wasn’t even consulted for the movie, but in 1981 he got hold of a screenplay and wrote a (typically generous) piece about it. This excerpt also gives his…

Mirror, mirror - the narcissistic universe
Mirror, mirror – the narcissistic universe
Narcissus – looking good! | Paintitng by John William Waterhouse
The impossibility of DNA needs explaining. The only explanation is meaning. If the 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 is to create conscious beings (us) to reflect universal consciousness, that makes us mirrors, and the universe narcissistic. (Like former US president Donald ‘Chump’ Trump and UK PM Boris ‘Bonzo’ Johnson.)

Whatever happened to Black Lives Matter?
Whatever happened to Black Lives Matter?
Protesters, Washington DC, USA, 6 June 2020 | Photo: Kevin Dietsch / UPI / AlamyIn 2020, Black Lives Matter was big. Huge. Then it kind of faded. What was it? Was it a slogan, a protest movement, an organisation – or what? And what happened to it?
The Black Lives Matter movement was begun by a small group of radical black feminists in 2013 after the aquittal of a neighbourhood watch coordinator…

Identity politics, that hot potato
Identity politics, that hot potato
Hare comes a snowflake! | photo: Anest / istockphoto
Consider the hot potato of identity politics. Originally French, then mainly American, now exported back to Europe, it’s where people of a particular ethnicity or other identifying factor (sometimes rudely called snowflakes) develop a political agenda based on their identity.
Some advocates of identity politics take an intersectional approach,…

A brief history of the UK’s brutal colonisation of Ireland, and its troubled aftermath
A brief history of the UK’s brutal colonisation of Ireland, and its troubled aftermath
Centuries of military incursions ended with the 17th-century conquest of Ireland by Protestant mass murderer Oliver Cromwell. Ireland became a British colony, and in 1800 became part of the newly named United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
After several horrific famines and brutally suppressed rebellions, in 1921 Ireland was partitioned.
The main part of Ireland gained independence and…
