Antwan: Spring Forward is tonight? Horrible. Who even came up with it?
Keys: Benjamin Franklin
Antwan: Benjamin Franklin?!?! 100 dollar Franklin?
Keys: Um, yes.
Antwan: Why would anyone put him on a 100 after he come up with this?

Lol I told my sister about Ket(y)wan and she took a minute to think about who they were (she's seen it once last year) and she goes "the guy who looks like Bernard from Megamind and the boss" so then I had to look up Bernard, because I was confusing him with Titan and yeah I can see it.
Tumblr media
Now I just need an animated guy who looks like Antwan

Rules: write the last line from a WIP and tag as many people as there are words in the line. Make a new post!
Thank you to @whimsicalmeerkat for tagging me! I’ve added quite a bit more to this little ficlet since the last sentence I shared for one of these :D
Then Antwan threads his fingers through Keys’ hair, tilting his head up to kiss at his neck in a way that makes the world disappear and it’s hard to think about anything but the mark he seems determined to leave there.
Yeah so apparently the more indulgent the fic, the longer the sentences get. There is no way I can tag that many people. I’m gonna tag people that I’ve already tagged, I’m sure. No pressure to play along if you don’t want to! @pterawaters @urisarang @withmyteeth @himbosteeb @moonlit-imagines and anyone else who wants to play along ^-^

The Fight
So I mentioned that Keys and Antwan get into horrible fight in this post. And I figured I'd expand on it. First off I need to explain my take on them. I've kind of mention it in the Mouser post, but only in passing.
You need to know how i intrupt the ship thou so check that out too
This comes into play during the fight. (and good grief this got long, so its going under read more)
What where they fighting about? Well the fact that Antwan used Free Life as the base for Free City. It goes like this:
Keys finds out about Free Life (idk how yet) and it understandably livid
Storms up to Antwan's office, demands answers.
Antwan shoots back that he owns the game, to which Keys yells that the game is only part of the problem.
Keys stars spouting off all the other things he holds against Antwan. The fact that he lied to Keys about it. That he made Keys feel like he could create anything worthwhile. He destroyed his friendship with Millie. He used Keys feelings for him to manipulate Keys, etc etc.
(It should be noted that most of these aren't 100% correct Keys could have chosen not to cut Millie off, or met with her on the down low. Antwan tried to convince Keys Free Life being a bust didn't mean he should give up coding. Manipulation was hardly ever on Antwan mind when he was with Keys)
Antwan gets angry and yells back. He calls him out on the hypocrisy, of meeting with Millie, that Free Life would have left them even worse off and tells him there isn't anything they can do any the code.
Keys storms out of the building and tries to call Millie, who is conveniently doesn't pick up.
Keys feels even more abandoned and goes home.
He sulks for a few days, trying to call Millie, but she never picks up, and she's not at her apartment. This makes Keys' mental state worse and he spends several more days depressed and anxious at home.
Meanwhile Antwan is being an absolute terror. Fairing poeple left and right, throwing fits when they take him seriously and don't show up, screaming when they do show back up, sitting at Keys' desk glaring at everyone, and just making life extra hard.
Keys drags himself to the studio after about two weeks, still unsure if he's even allowed him, or if he still works there. But he's determined to get his stuff.
Antwan is at his desk, and it ends with them arguing again. And Antwan drags Keys to his office to keep it private.
Which is good because it ends in an official firing and break up.
Keys grabs the essentials from his desk and leaves. Antwan hides in his office.
Keys has started looking at laws. He can't bring himself to call a lawyer, and he hates himself for it. So instead he just learns as much as he can.
(please note I know very little about these types of laws and am 100% making crap up for story's sake)
He's not terribly surprised to learn if he and Millie did take Antwan to court they have little chance of winning 100%.
They'd get royalties or if Antwan is feeling incredibly generous, some say in the game's use but not much else.
This ticks him off again, because it's more reinforcement that Antwan cares more about money than anything else.
And Keys decides that if nothing else, he deserves closure. He didn't get it with his game, he didn't get it with Millie, he wants it with Antwan.
So he goes to see him.
Antwan, who Stanton wrestled home because he was literally wrecking the office, is shocked into silence and stillness
Keys starts to rant about how dumb it was of Antwan to hide the code. Unnecessary it really was. How awful it was of him to toy with Keys. And then he demands answers.
And Antwan is just stares. Because Keys is in his house, after he was sure he'd never see him again
Obvs they make up. (I'll make a link a post about it later)
They don't get back together right away. They take it slow
Or well try to
It takes like three months for them to officially try again and another to get back into he flow

How I interpret Ket(y)wan
So first thought when I was introduced to this ship was it had to be a 'i can fix him' ship, or one that ends in tragedy. And I while those are good takes, I came up with a third one I think is really interesting that I try to stick to. It boils down to Keys and Antwan spilting the character growth.
Let's start with Antwan .
Being with Keys has mellowed him a little. He's less likely to fire you, and he tries to be more patience.
Most days he treats his employees like they're flawed human, and not prefect machines.
BUT Antwan is still Antwan.
He's still cocky, and sneaky, possessive, has a fierce temper, and uses others to get what he wants. Am I making sense?
Okay so moving on to Keys. The relationship grows him into a person more renaissance of the Keys we see towards the end of the movie.
He still loves coding, he's still wants life to be fair. He's still anxious and shy.
But being with Antwan has given him more confidence, and taught him how to be a little more selfish.
He knows he's a good and fun person to be around. He knows he's a brilliant at coding.
He knows he's got worth, and that helps him stand up for himself and what he wants.
..... So yeah. That's the mindset I go into Ket(y)wan with unless I know the author has a different take. Just felt the need to put it out there for some reason.

Headcanon:
Steve always teased Keys with the whole 'Antwan aka their sugar daddy' thing and Antwan would only encourage Steve
Steve was sitting on the couch, Max and Dustin cuddled up with him, when Antwan and Keys came back from the mall.
Keys held practically thousands of bags in his arms, Antwan holding several as well. The younger twin was absolutely glowing, so Steve suspected it had been a successful trip.
“Hey Keys,” he hummed cheerfully, a small teasing smirk appearing. “Hey, Keys’s sugar daddy.”
Keys groaned loudly on their way to his bedroom, and Steve could practically see the way their eyes were rolling. “He’s not my sugar daddy, he’s just my boyfriend!”
Antwan and Steve shared a grin. “Oh. I am totally his sugar daddy,” the older man grinned before following Keys to the bedroom.
“I hate men,” Max mumbled, her head buried in her brother’s shoulder.
