Hi. I haven't been writing headcanons for a long time, but now I have some ideas in my head that I've been trying to refine for a long time. At the moment, I'm working on some fanfiction for which I need inspiration, and in order for me to have it, I decided to revive my small column with headcanons on The Arcana.

Quaestor Valdemar x Pontifex Vulgora headcanons

I am more than sure that Vulgora occupies the "main" position in this relationship. They initiate many key moments, starting with dates and ending with kisses with other more intimate things. But this is not because Valdemar are passive or they are not interested in this relationship. More about this in the next paragraph.

Valdemar is not the kind of being who is well or even moderately versed in romance and in building a loving relationship with anyone. They are not passive, but they are also not inclined to take the first steps too often, however, if Valdemar still decide to take the initiative, then this exceeds all expectations, at least in relation to those with whom they are close. And this place in their heart in this case is occupied only by Vulgora. For their sake, Valdemar is more than capable of learning to understand the essence of building a romantic relationship, but it still won't look the way people do it. Valdemar have their own language of love, which they learn to show towards Vulgora, learning more and more about it.

However, Vulgora is also loved in its own way. And that's what makes these two look like each other. Both are immortal beings, whose age is either approaching a thousand, or has long crossed this boundary. But to be more precise, in my head Vulgora is younger than Valdemar, but not by much, to call it an impressive age difference.

Valdemar is by no means a passive partner in this relationship, despite having less initiative. With the development of these relationships, their dominant personality side is quite capable of revealing itself in some moments. It's not as fervent and passionate as Vulgora's, but more harsh and cold-blooded, but since Valdemar knows the measure and knows how to try on this quality when it's appropriate, it drives the younger demon crazy.

And the first thing Valdemar does after one of the nights together is hear something like this from Vulgora in the early morning: "DAMN IT, WHY DID YOU HIDE IT BEFORE?! IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!"

Vulgora is definitely the defender in this relationship most of the time, and Valdemar are the ones who are protected. Vulgora are ready to literally gut with their bare hands anyone who dares to look at Valdemar the wrong way or leave a comment. For the latter, by the way, Vulgora will not hesitate to rip out this unfortunate person's tongue.

However, when it comes to really serious things, rather than simple showdowns with people, Valdemar stands up. Their defense techniques are more subtle and sophisticated. And this is applied only in the most extreme cases. They know that Vulgora will fight to the last for the chance to protect both themselves and their partner, so Valdemar will not take away this chance from them if there is no real danger on the horizon, because of which Vulgora can theoretically suffer due to their own inattention or overconfidence. Valdemar will simply turn a creature that dared to cause trouble for Vulgora into a pile of dismembered minced meat and a mug of blood.

Of course, there are a lot of rumors about the relationship between these two at court, because neither Valdemar nor Vulgora see any point in following universal rules and declaring each other partners in front of everyone. This becomes obvious over time and no one in the couple tries to hide it, just as they advertise it. They just most often appear together at common events or somewhere else, sometimes holding hands and showing signs of attention towards each other. However, Vulgora is more prone to publicity than Valdemar and at the first time of a love relationship, they do not hesitate to yell at someone who will allow themselves to stare at Valdemar. It would be something like, "WHERE ARE YOU LOOKING, YOU MISERABLE PEASANT?! TURN YOUR EYES AWAY, IT'S MINE!"

Valdemar, as a rule, react very calmly to the manifestation of Vulgora's possessive nature and accept it without trying to change them. They are more than satisfied with this, because they still have no goal to build a close relationship with someone else.

Among other things, Valdemar is not at all worried about the physical manifestations of affection on the part of Vulgora. These are, of course, love bites, and everywhere, wherever their sharp greedy teeth can reach. Despite the fact that Valdemar's body is always hidden under clothes, Vulgora find a way to mark them so that absolutely everyone can see it. For example, hickeys on the cheeks, sometimes very bright.

In bed, Valdemar often puts power in the hands of Vulgora, allowing them to act in the main role. But it's not that simple. Valdemar can take the role of a hidden leader, allowing Vulgora to think that they are in charge of the process. They just like to see their beloved red beetle having fun in full.

Valdemar, taking a position "from below", can easily turn Vulgora into a trembling puddle of tenderness, just by telling them the right words. And they know how to get to the very heart of Vulgora. It works flawlessly.

That's all for today. But I know for sure that I will soon write the second part of the headcanons with this amazing couple. I just need to formulate the rest of my thoughts on this topic. And I do not exclude that I will even write headcanons related to NSFW in more detail. If that happens, it will be my favorite part.

In my head Valdemar have a forked snake tongue. To some extent, I attribute to them a very clear resemblance to reptiles and they remind me a lot of a lizard or a snake. Hi! I saw your answer for that ask on MC pouring their wine on Valerius. I'd like to propose if MC started just crying instead. No, not because Valerius embarrassed them. Because they were wearing such pretty clothes and they know the wine stain will be so hard to get out, and they just feel so sorry that Nadia went to such lengths to get them nice clothes and now they're ruined. ;-;

Hmm, good question. As a connoisseur of expensive and high-quality clothes, I already feel this annoyance that an MC would feel.

I am sure that events would have unfolded in favor of the MC in any case: Countess Nadia would have apologized for the repulsive behavior of Consul Valerius and would have taken responsibility to order new clothes for the MC again, promising that it would be much better than the previous one, which Valerius spoiled with wine. Of course, the Consul will not remain without a remark and a serious conversation from Nadia, since this is unacceptable behavior towards the guests of the palace.

Consul Valerius may have expected such an outcome because of his actions, but he is still annoyed that the Countess is so supportive of the MC. To deny the upcoming serious conversation, which is likely to affect the reputation, does not make sense for Valerius, since it was purely his idea, respectively, to be responsible for it only to him. Seeing the traces of MC Valerius utters an apology through his teeth, knowing in his heart that he overdid it and it's too much.

I don’t know if you’re still doing arcana HCs but if you are, how do you think the courtiers would react if MC was a demon and dragged into the Lucio plot by the devil? Like they had to pretend to help the main 6 and act as a kinda double agent/wolf in sheep’s clothing, you know? Would the be protective and against the idea of MC getting involved or would they be all in?

Thank you very much, I'm fine. I still write different things on Arcana, it's just that there was a period in my life recently when I couldn't do it, but now I'm coming back.

It's worth starting with the fact that the courtiers are mostly busy exclusively with their deals with the Devil, they are unlikely to pay much attention to the MC, who decided to join these ranks, but a more or less loyal relationship between them is still quite possible.

Valdemar, most likely, would have treated this phenomenon with classic indifference. They seem to be interested, but they don't seem to be interested enough to have long conversations with MC and be interested in them. Valdemar always has their own job, so I doubt they would devote much time to MC. And yet, the desire to conduct an experiment on them and maybe open them up to learn more about the nature of MC will periodically haunt Valdemar, no more.

Valerius also took it rather coldly. After all, among the other courtiers, he is the only human, despite the fact that he is connected with transactions. I think Valerius would have started to stay even further away from MS and keep an even greater distance from them than before. The consul basically does not care, the most important thing is that the MC in his new appearance and with new strength is not closer to him than the distance of an outstretched arm.

With the Pontifex Vulgora, the situation is a little more complicated. They are no longer so hostile towards MS and are not eager to smash their skulls against the wall and turn their brains into porridge, but you should not expect friendliness from them either. Vulgora are passionate about battles and other similar things, so they could pay attention to the MC if they share Vulgora's interests. But this is not a guarantee.

Praetor Vlastomil looks with disbelief at the "updated" MC, which have significantly changed in his opinion. He does not have negative feelings for MC, but treats him like any newcomer to the squad: with caution. I have included in the canon the fact that Vlastomil is one of those courtiers who is afraid of the Devil, so he will refuse to interact closely with the MC, but nevertheless, he will show a little more respect.

The Volta procurator, even if she is not a person herself, is surprised by the transformation of the MC, which really turned out to be extremely unexpected. She sees a completely different creature in front of her, which remotely and only in details resembles MC, and this partly misleads her. It cannot be said that Volta is scared, she remains one of the few who still treats MC well.

You know that one scene in game where valrius spills his drink on MC on purpose? How do you think the other courtiers and Nadia would react if MC got up without saying a word and proceeded to pour their own drink right on valirius head and leaned in real close and said “oops”? I saw a scene like this in a show and thought it was the most badass thing ever xx

As a well-bred ruler of the state, she is extremely amazed. Even more: she's in shock. Moreover, it is unclear why exactly she is more in shock – from Valerius' antics or because of the way the MC answered him.

The surprised Countess runs up to MC and Valerius, wondering what happened, who first started this whole nightmare and for what purpose it was set up. Of course, the question is: "who started it first?" rhetorical. She squints irritably at the blushing Valerius, who clearly did not expect that this act would be noticed.

Nadia reprimands the culprit first: "Consul, I did not expect this from you, your behavior is unacceptable and from this day on I forbid you to appear in rooms where others gather with a glass of wine" – even such a harmless remark can hurt Valerius' self-confidence.

After talking to the adviser, she slowly turns to the MC and already addresses them, with the same stern expression on her face. Yes, the Countess is strict, but very fair and wants everyone to get what they deserve. "MC, I understand that you are angry at Valerius because of this terrible act, but try not to do it again. This is not worthy of any reaction. Now let me deal with your stain on your clothes."

As a result, Valerius, hurt by pride, goes to wash his hair and grumbles, and Nadia leaves MC next to her to discuss what happened. She intends to have this conversation with both MC and Valerius when he gets himself in order.

"MC, I am very ashamed of my adviser, I apologize for his antics. I'll talk to him and try to make sure he doesn't try to embarrass you anymore."

Nadia will definitely make Valerius apologize to MC. And the MC will also be obliged to apologize for what he did: she doesn't want people around her to conflict or hate each other.

When the MC takes and pours wine on Valerius' head, the reaction still appears: they laugh softly, hissing into their fists, squinting their eyes. It's almost impossible to see or hear.

Since their face is hidden by a medical mask, it is difficult to determine: is Valdemar funny or are they just snorting contemptuously? Oh, no, it's really something like a laugh. They haven't had this much fun in a long time.

At the end of this meeting, they will not say anything to MC or Valerius, but they will remember this case for a long time.

Valdemar could not resist and nevertheless inserted their remark: "Valerius, you should not have taken this fatal step. Your pride is wounded," and then spreads into a wide toothy smile that can be seen even through the mask.

In their opinion, this is a good way to put the arrogant Valerius in his place, so they have nothing against it.

Pontifex Vulgora

Get ready. Their laughter will shake the whole room, and Valerius' rage will become uncontrollable, because "no one dares to laugh at the supreme consul!". But Vulgora clearly doesn't care.

"FUCK, VALERIUS, NOW YOUR HEAD LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE ALREADY HAD YOUR SKULL CRUSHED!"

They catch judgmental glances at themselves, but they don't care at all. They laugh uncontrollably, flavoring their laughter with prickly and witty comments. Finally, this reception has become less boring.

Vulgora does not care about the condemnatory views and comments of everyone present. In a fit of emotion, they can hit something in a hurry and it will definitely suffer.

For example, it can be a vase. And it will be noisy until the Pontifex releases them and they come to their senses, or until the Countess calms them down.

But even after that, they will remember this situation for a long time and make rude jokes on this topic.

Vulgora are even proud that they did not miss this reception and saw the spectacle while being at the forefront.

Preator Vlastomil

Looks at the spectacle with a bit of surprise. Not that what was happening was important to him, because all this time he was busy looking at the worms that he carried in the folds of his clothes and woke up only when he heard Valerius's indignant scream.

"What's going on here?! You are scaring my children!" – he is outraged, for the most part, not by what the MC did, but by the fact that because of Valerius, who began to resent loudly, his worms hid back in the folds of his clothes and now refuse to come out again.

When he sees Valerius doused with wine, he is not thrilled. Now there is a smell of this drink around, because of which his worms will definitely not crawl out now.

However, he is still watching this scene. After all, what else does Vlastomil like besides worms? That's right, gossip. Fresh gossip. Therefore, he discards indignation and collects material for gossip related to Valerius. This is a great reason to put him in front of everyone in an unfavorable light.

Do not be surprised if in a few days the whole palace will be talking about it. Vlastomil, of course, if he is suspected, will say that he has nothing to do with it, but since he is the only most avid gossip here, you should not believe him.

Procurator Volta

How do you think the courtiers would react to an MC that they have a very old relationship with? Like they knew each other as children and have been married forever ect. (Sense the four demons are older then humans can be, MC is probably a demon too or at least has something that gives them immortality too). Honestly I just love the idea of them having an MC that they’ve been with for ages to such a point where they have a perfect understanding of each other. Xx

Oh, there is something to think about here, this is a very interesting request.

Quaestor Valdemar

It is much easier for them to understand someone who is with them not for a few days / weeks / months, but those who have been around for more than a few years. Several decades, most likely. New relationships, intrigues and other things that many mortals love are not for them.

Valdemar doesn't like new acquaintances. It is more pleasant for them to be near those whom they have known long enough to be free in their behavior and the manifestation of emotions and feelings. They do not open up to those they have known for a short time, so contrary to all expectations, these relations with the MC will not fade, but on the contrary: it gets better and better.

They love it when the partner knows everything about them, and they know everything about the partner. If he and MC spend eternity together, it means nothing but absolute acceptance of each other in all aspects.

That is why Questor is very sensitive to the MC, who knows all their weaknesses and peculiarities and expects the same in return. But for the most part, their love is almost unconditional. Valdemar doesn't expect too much. It's just important for them to be understood and accepted.

Their feelings do not fade away. Generally. But they only get stronger every year. Valdemar are very attached to MC, with whom they will spend an infinitely long time.

They are glad that they no longer have to try to understand MC, because now they know everything about them, down to the smallest details. Valdemar are even proud of this, as they are sure that no one but them knows MC so well.

And MC should be proud that they know everything about their partner to the end. Seriously, Valdemar is completely open to them in every sense. They have never revealed themselves to anyone before and will not reveal themselves from the most unexpected sides. It's really worth a lot.

In this relationship, there is complete harmony without embellishment. Partners value each other because they are the only support for each other in this changing world.

Refined romance does not disappear from these relationships. Valdemar often wants to please MC, so you can expect pleasant surprises from them.

Pontifex Vulgora

If they have met their love, then they are sure without a doubt that this is for the end. They love fervently, passionately and hotly, these feelings are like fire, and the years are the oil that ignite these feelings.

This is the kind of relationship where one partner will protect the other even at the cost of the most important. Vulgora is ready to sacrifice even himself so that the MC remains safe, sometimes the Pontifex can do this to their detriment.

Thanks to these relationships, they have found their haven in the sense that now there are those next to them to whom they can return when they are tired or need support, without being afraid to openly ask for it. Vulgora were afraid to be weak in front of MC for a long time, but they had to explain one simple thing: since they will spend eternity together, weaknesses cannot be hidden in front of those you love.

In the end, the Pontifex agrees with this, albeit not immediately. It's a little hard for them to trust MC with their problems just because they don't want to be weak or pathetic, not because they don't believe MC. They just want to be the strong side of the relationship, the fortress and the main support.

Relations with them are developing continuously. If MC seems to know absolutely everything about Vulgora, then they are mistaken: if at the beginning of a relationship they may seem rude but reliable, then after a while their other side opens up: passionate, sensual and protective.

MC should be proud of the fact that only they have access to tenderness from this creature. Vulgora also really want tenderness, even if it doesn't look like it at all from the outside.

Since Vulgora have chosen their love, other personalities will cease to exist for them. This is one of the most reliable partners who, under any circumstances, remains on the side of the MC and is ready to do anything for them.

Consul Valerius

It is difficult for him to come to terms with the fact that his life will not end, as well as the life of the MC.

The most important reason why Valerius was afraid to enter into a relationship with a person: his partner will die one day, and he will remain forever young, will suffer and get into a miserable existence after the loss of love. That's why he tried not to get attached to anyone.

At first he thought he was mortal, but the dealings with the Hierophant changed his mind. Valerius didn't age, didn't get poisoned, and didn't die when he should have. And when an MC with exactly the same "problem" appears before him, he does not believe his eyes.

It was then that he gave free rein to his feelings, because there could be no better option for him than to spend this eternity next to those whose century is as long as his.

It symbolizes common understanding, mutual help and support. MC and Valerius make a very harmonious tandem.

Consul swore to be near the MC. And he has never failed yet.

The pace of development of relations is smooth, slow, it lasts for decades. It looks like a romance that, according to MC and Valerius, lasts only a few weeks, but in fact many years have passed.

Valerius is incredulous. But he learns to open up to MC and soon absolutely trusts them with everything: feelings, thoughts, secrets about himself. They are enough to look at this person from a different angle.

He's afraid of being abandoned. He is afraid to be left alone in this infinity, to lose his love, so MC often talks to him on this topic.

On the other hand, he and MC find a lot of advantages in the eternal life they will spend together. For example, they can afford to try absolutely all kinds of wines in the world, learn many new languages together, read to each other the best books that will appear over time.

Procurator Volta

She needs those who will share this fate with her. Therefore, she protects the MC as if it were a fragile vase, and not an immortal being.

Volta is just afraid of losing MC, because they are the only ones who can understand her. She doesn't know if it's good or bad to be immortal, but she doesn't want to be lonely.

Despite immortality, MC and Volta live the same day. They take the maximum from these relationships and everyday life, without thinking about the future. Volta is too direct and it is not typical for her to think about it.

Looking at her, MC learns to look for the meaning of life in the little things. Even in this eternal life.

Volta rarely raises topics about joint plans for eternal life, she just likes to dream about what she and MC will do, where they will go and what they will try. She's just enjoying herself.

She often thanks MC for being together. If it wasn't for MC, Volta would really be insanely lonely, no one would understand and support her, so she will do everything for MC to bring happiness.

Like the rest of the courtiers, she is probably much older than MC, but despite this, Volta does not understand so much in life, or tries not to think about it. She sees happiness in simple things, such as eating or socializing with MC.

Even after many years, her relationship with MC remains light and gentle, without losing its former playfulness and innocence. Volta does not cease to sincerely love MC and gets attached more and more every day.

Preator Vlastomil

Despite his senile appearance, he believes in endless love if both partners are doomed to eternal life.

It's one of those things that warms his heart. Every time he looks at MC and spends time with them, Vlastomil realizes that if it weren't for them, his life would be more monotonous.

It is for this reason that MC values more than anything else in the world and worries about them. Yes, even about his worms, he ceases to worry as much as about MC and relationships.

Together with him, the MC observes how epochs change, how the old is replaced by the new, how new people appear and rejoices that he is not contemplating all this alone.

His love is always cozy, almost parental, and the relationship is stable and sensual. Vlastomil does not like to rush, he prefers serenity, especially if you have absolutely all the time in this world. Then there is no point in rushing, and even more so.

His life with MC is very measured and smooth. Vlastomil knows that he has all the possibilities with MC, but he is in no hurry to use it: it is more important for him to just spend time near the MC. Read books together or walk in the garden, which does not stop blooming even after hundreds of years.

Vlastomil remembers all the most important events, his memory in this regard can be envied.

Yes, he really remembers the wedding, the first kiss, and even the smallest cute moments with MC. This is extremely important for him.

Quaestor Valdemar

They have seen a lot of scars in their existence, starting with insignificant and small size and ending with large, conspicuous ones, so they react to MC scars quite calmly. But this does not mean that the Questor ignores it.

Without any hesitation, Valdemar casually approach the MC and ask: "Do you mind if we go to my dungeon after work?". If they see fear on the MC's face, they will immediately warn that they will not do anything, but only look at something and ask a few questions. At the same time, during the conversation, they will constantly cast interested glances at these scars.

MC does not need much time to guess what is the matter. Valdemar does not hide that it's about these scars. They would not like to hear a refusal, so they gently convince that today a visit to their basement is an extremely important procedure.
