maybe i wasnt specific enough for my intro post, maybe a little too vague about it, the politics one wasnt the one i was worried about keeping "private"

my main worry is my association with others who engage in non-medical (or perhaps even non-religious) drug and alcohol reference/usage and mature content, "private" or not. thats more my own personal preference than anything else, and i really do not feel comfortable with that stuff. my preference for those kinds of things is not up for debate, and i can see how that might be upsetting knowing that those particular issues are extremely common nowadays, but again, it is my preference and who i choose to associate with. you may call it "privileged", it might very well be, but it is my choice who i choose to befriend, much like how you have your own choices in who you choose to build friendships with.

if anything, thank you for pointing that out for me in my intro post! despite the rudeness, which is easily forgiven, it gave me something to speak about in my preferences, and i hope it clarifies my personal choices more!

when i claim to be an "owner" of my pet, i dont mean that i own its life or anything, i call myself its "owner" because i own the responsibility of taking care of it.

my cat, litten, is registered under my name, and i am listed as her owner, but i dont own her in the sense that i own an object, i own the responsibility of her needs and wants.

my cat is no lesser a life than mine or my fiancé's, and i take care of her just as i would myself or my fiancé. she has her own free will to the same extent i have mine.

Anyone else hate how in a lot of languages, we call ourselves our pets' "owners"?

Or say that our pet belongs to us?

I know that's just how the language works, but it sounds so possessive, I really don't like it-

It's not like the animal is an object that I place in my room, or that the animal is a lifeform that is beneath me and that I get to call my own

im so happy i found out my place! the validation i have received from both finding out for myself and learning that there are others like me out there is very special to me! seeing so many others who i relate to is not something ive ever really experienced but once with my fiancé, but now that i can see it and know its there, i feel a lot better

it genuinely feels like it has improved my mental state by a lot (theres other contributing factors to that too though), and im happy for that ^•^
