I’m still in the camp of thinking that a graphic novel would be the best way for the story to be continued - dom mitchell has mentioned the idea a few times, and it would get around the issues of the cast being older & having moved on in their careers. the bbc has released novelisations/comics based around some of their shows before, so it’s possible that if they agreed to collaborate on it, then the licensing issues wouldn’t be an issue either. Plus i just think the story would work well in the graphic novel format, style-wise. But yeah, honestly i’m not expecting to get any more itf content. it’s been nearly 10years with nothing in the works, so 🤷🏻♀️
do you guys think we still have a chance at getting netflix to save in the flesh? y/n?

[wakes up in the middle of the night]
i am still very upset that BBC’s ‘In The Flesh’ by Dominic Mitchell got cancelled, it was truly a groundbreaking development in queer British media and the faint hope of it some day getting some form of conclusion is the only thing that lets me [falls asleep with sweet dreams]

In the flesh really went “here’s a show about zombies as a metaphor for gay ppl and the stigma against mental illness but the main character is actually gay and mentally ill” in fucking 2013 and we really didn’t appreciate it enough for that

There are so many messages from times when I was really struggling with my depression, from people I didn’t talk to much (if at all), checking in, flooding my asks with kindness and support, and I know how much that meant to 15-yr-old me to hear. I can have a full scale breakdown on my main/personal blog and not have anybody reach out, and it is so telling of what a wonderful community this fandom had - even at it’s peak, when things normally start to disintegrate. we all truly cared about each other.
I miss this blog. I miss this fandom actually. My heavy-investment in any fandom has kinda come to an end at this point, but I was just clearing through a bunch of old asks (remember when that was the only way we could communicate on here?? shit was wild) and you guys were all so lovely and kind and friendly. Even though I’m still active on my main blog, and have mutuals, and tumblr friends, my experience with ITF and the community that grew up around the show was so much more warm-hearted and positive. And that’s all down to you guys. So even though I don’t exactly post on here anymore, don’t think I’ve forgotten about you all. I’m never gonna delete this blog. It was such a happy phase of my life and I loved every minute of it. Thank you for that :)
