5 and 9 for the artist asks!
Artist asks!
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
I think it's more or less a 1:1 to be honest, I don't really draw for myself or my own characters but I really want to change that in 2024!
9. What are your file name conventions
Surprisingly normal actually - I start off with exactly what the file is and then tack on numbers at the back as I make increasingly more iterations (e.g. hussar > hussar 1 > hussar 2 etc)
And then sometimes I do shit like this:

on the first day of christmas my true love gave to me-
There were many Roscreans that sought power. They pledged their lives to old and dead kings, chasing after the shadows of the past. But Thorkell the Axe, mightiest of all of Roscrea, cared little for fate, for prophecy, for history. Were they not the empty words of long-dead men? Some say that he conquered all of Roscrea - not in the name of a rotting corpse, but for himself and his own desires. Few remember Thorkell's name, and none dare to speak of his deeds. They say he vanished, leaving behind mountains of treasure somewhere on Roscrea. On cold nights, one can still hear his thundering steps booming over the mountains and across the seas.

Having a lot of thoughts and feelings about the "Shadowheart is Ketheric's daughter" headcanon tonight:
Shadowheart, while in service of Selûne as a cleric, was lost, her body never found. The years that followed were not kind to Ketheric: he turned away from the Moonmaiden and sought consolation in the Lady of Loss and the Lord of Bones - after all, they had already taken everything from him, what's one more piece of his body and soul?
In the present day, Shadowheart has no recollection of her life before she came into the service of Shar. What she does know is that the mysterious artefact she has in her possession is important somehow, and all the signs point her towards Moonrise Towers, and so she follows.
What she does not expect however, is her memory and life to slowly return to her, insistent and persistent just like the wound in her hand.
Least of all return to the home she was raised in.
Ketheric grieved for a daughter whom he thought was dead, and for a man who had everything in the world, all he could do was to build an empty tomb in the family mausoleum in her name.
And yet there she is before his very own eyes: Jenevelle Thorm.
Shar is a cruel mistress: she warped and shaped each of them for her own devices, and now she turns blood against blood, reuniting father and daughter again after a sundering orchestrated by her own hand. The Lady of Loss gives nothing and demands everything from her servants, and on this day she asks for a fight to the death.
Ketheric may have sold himself piece by piece to Shar and Myrkul, but he will not sell a single hair on his daughter's head to anyone for anything. If his gods were to strike him down where he stood, let it happen while he protects his daughter.
"For the land to heal, Ketheric Thorm must die."
Perhaps the Moonmaiden would be merciful. He prays that she will be.

Thinking about how in the final battle if you choose to side with the Emperor, his abilities are just "normal" Illithid Powers, and doesn't even have all of them. He has a grand total of seven mind flayer-related abilities including Fly and Tentacle Whip, and none of the passives to boot.
Orpheus on the other hand, has sixteen (including Fly and Tentacle Whip), with seven mind flayer passives on top of that, and also has Permanent Mind Sanctuary.
Some more interesting details and some notes and my thoughts below the cut:

I could chalk the "The Emperor is not hosting a mind flayer parasite" part down to just a simple dev oversight or just NPC coding (companions who aren't infected, like Halsin and Jaheira also get the same text when you pull up the Illithid Powers menu on them) - but I'll get back to this later when we get to Orpheus.
The Emperor doesn't gain frankly...anything after you give him the Netherstones and let him assimilate Orpheus, not even Permanent Mind Sanctuary. What he does have however, is his staff, which has some really interesting flavourtext:
Ceremorphosis eradicates great swathes of the consciousness that came before... but not everything. Touching the staff, a fragment of the Emperor's memory slithers into your brain - you see sea waves foaming into spume, and feel the explorer's exultant joy. Then the image is gone, like so much silken night under a cut-shade sun.
Okay, let's move on to Orpheus now.

This is where it gives me pause - "Orpheus has undergone a magical transformation" - it makes me think that "The Emperor is not hosting a mind flayer parasite" might be intentional on Larian's part and not an oversight at all. But then again, it might just be a case of game mechanics, since the Emperor technically doesn't consume the Supreme Tadpole in the game, and the Permanent Mind Sanctuary effect could be directly tied to the consumption of the tadpole (if the player character chooses to become a mind flayer, they also get Permanent Mind Sanctuary, same as Orpheus)
I'm inclined to believe that "The Emperor is not hosting a mind flayer parasite" is nothing more than a dev oversight, as much as I love the alternate, unlikely theory that he somehow maintained control over the parasite that turned him and suppressed part of his mind flayer nature, and the staff is the last concrete tie he has to the physical world, something that is truly his own, and can't be wrested away from him unless he dies - he can't let go of his love of the sea and the joy it brings him.
