ENDEAVOR / ENJI

There was a contented hum from Enji when Hawks pressed against him. He pressed a hand on the back of his head to stroke the wild blond hair lazily, the other settling on Hawks’ back to hold him close and trace random patterns on his skin.

“Hey, little bird.” Enji spoke, nuzzling Hawks’ hair. “Slept well?”

It was nice, all of this. He was used to it by now, but it still felt kind of surreal at times, to think that anyone could love him like that, especially since they knew about his past.

He was grateful.

Hawks’ own voice left him in a hum of his own, maroon eyes flitting upwards to stare at Enji before closing again. He didn’t often sleep this well - especially when they had to sleep apart from each other, the nightmares came full blast then.

Opening his eyes once more, Hawks gave Enji a bright smile

While Hawks had needed some time to cope and come to terms with Enji’s past - especially because of his own - he did realize that the older man was trying his best to become a better person, and damned if Hawks wasn’t going to try and help him with that.

What will Hawks do if he finds out about what Enji did with his family? Will he be disappointed in his hero?

Wow I wake up to this, anon? I can’t believe-

Anyways, I don’t think he’d be disappointed, per se. More so… afraid? I don’t know how to explain it really but his trust in Enji would just completely shatter. It would be even worse if he found out from someone other than Enji.

And it’d be even worse if he told Enji about his past beforehand - which I’m not sure he’d actually do. He might tell Enji after the fact but obviously he’d need quite some time to get over the fact that he’s dating a man whom he thought was perfect in every way just to find out about Enji’s past.

Hawks would eventually forgive him, obviously, because he can see that Enji is trying to change and that’s more than his own parents ever did so Enji is still better than them in his eyes.
