We feel so grateful working with @karenxcheng the past months on her first VR film in the Metaverse! Having the chance to help bring her vision in VR is an incredible honor. Karen and her incredible team work so hard on every single creative project. This horrifying #360 #tinyplanet photo is part of the apartment buildings that got obliterated by the Russian bombing. Last night on March 21, 2022, Russian bombs obliterated Kyiv Retroville shopping mall - at least eight people were dead and 6 apartment complexes got destroyed. One of the apartments belongs to @virtualmediag Nickolay Omelchenko wife's sister. This is the reality for people in Kyiv, Ukraine today. Kyiv Maps @kyivmaps team, led by Nickolay, took these horrifying 360 photos among others. According to Nickolay, before they fly, they need to get permission from the military police. Then they need to pass post controls. When flying, they need to turn off GPS and fly with no internet connection (phone under airplane mode) as Russians use aero scope from DJI and send missiles to the spot where the drone took off. It happened a few times according to Nickolay. Guess what this is… 🚀 💣 This is a #tinyplanet #360photo Inside the Nuclear Reactor #3, Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Ukraine, 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Kyiv. Reactor No.3 still has active graphite and is considered extremely dangerous if any missile hits it. Reactor No. 4 was the reactor of the #chernobyl disaster in 1986, and the power plant is now within a large restricted area known as the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. The #chernobylexclusionzone was the site of fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces during the recent #battleofchernobyl on 24 February 2022, as part of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russian forces captured the plant the same day. It was reported that artillery shelling hit radioactive waste storage locations and an increase in radioactivity was observed. But lucky, there had been no casualties nor destruction at the industrial site or remaining nuclear reactors. This is ACTIVE wars around Nuclear! We merely avoid another Nuclear Disaster like Chernobyl and this is NOT the end of it. In the early hours of 4 March, the Zaporizhzhia plant in southeastern Ukraine became the first ACTIVE operating civil nuclear power plant to come under armed attack. Fighting between forces overnight resulted in a projectile hitting a training building within the site of the six-unit plant! For your information, #ukraine has 15 operable #nuclear reactors at four plants that generate about half of its electricity. THE WAR IS ONGOING, THE RISK REMAINS HIGH. Nuclear disaster, if unfortunately happened deal to the active war, will affect the whole of Europe, the whole world and the whole humanity. It will impact the global environment, and destroy Mother Nature. It will affect your life no matter where you are located in the world. This is serious!
