i'm itching to start a dark au marauders first war era site - set when the marauders and co. would be in their mid 25's instead of their late teens/early twenties. although i don't have a set plot in mind yet. [suggestions are welcome!] i'd just like to see that generation played a little older than they usually are.

Is it possible to get information on the graphics and see the canon list before you open? That way we can get some information prepped for when the site opens? xD

TOOOOOOOOODAY. i don’t want to give an exact time as i’m still fixing a few bits up and i know that i’ll have missed something so i’m checking over and over to see it’s all there. i’m thinking we’re looking in the 2-3 hour range. so my suggestion is to prepare yourself for emotional trauma by watching deathly hallows part 2.

The Plot

‘War’. It embedded itself in Wizarding Society like a cancer. Once Grindelwald was gone there was talk of peace; too much bad had been done and too much damage to both sides. The world needed healing: a new moral society, with justice at its foundations. In the early 1970s a new order was being nurtured: one with a far more insidious agenda.

Lord Voldemort began quietly; earning trust and followers and rising with something many wouldn’t associate with him now: hope. Hope that the wizarding world would want to change. Hope that they could work together to build a better world. Hope that those who had endured anarchy and chaos would learn to bend the knee to true power. But they resisted.

The Ministry were the caretakers of a young population, the first generation to be raised in a time of peace in decades, and they would not have war. Sanctions against criminals were made harsher, laws were passed, protection was stepped up, but they were intent only on smoothing over the troubles. With flimsy authority, the Ministry didn’t have the power to reach into the heart of this rebellion and tear the rot out from the core.

Dumbledore was the first to stand up to the authorities and tell them action had to be taken, but it was a message that fell on deaf ears. The Wizengamot leant over their dusty desks and asked Dumbledore if he wanted to return to those dark days; was he just a soldier who had lost his way now he had no opponent? He would have the Ministry drag the world to war because he didn’t know how to live now. He wanted a fight. He wanted suffering. But there was no cause. There would be no civil war.

The disappearance of muggleborns in the night were the acts of lunatics and criminals; never a sole group of Death Eaters. The Daily Prophet would go to great lengths to cover up any idea of organised rebellion: these were dangerous men and women, acting on their own. But their victims knew. The muggleborn population learned to stay in and be as wary of the Ministry as they were of the Death Eaters. Speak out against either and you were arrested or dead.

The Order of the Phoenix was founded when it was decided that enough was enough: the fight would be taken into the hands of vigilantes, as the state wouldn’t act. And when the first member of the Order of the Phoenix was arrested the Prophet called them ‘terrorist’; against the Ministry’s agenda; dangerous. There was a war, but it was relegated to the shadows.

In 1981 no prophecy as to the destruction of the Dark Lord was made. Instead England continued on a path of destruction the Ministry were to blind to see. There would be one order here: the law, and everyone was subject to it, Death Eater and Order alike. Power resided with the law; with the Ministry; with those strong enough to wield it. But the world is at crisis point. There is no war but the cells of Azkaban overflow with bodies. There is no war but it isn’t safe to leave your house. There is no war but there is no justice. There is no war but there is no end.

Voldemort has been allowed to infiltrate the Ministry and swing the pendulum in his favour. As the Order of the Phoenix fight back in 1984, they are told it will get darkest before the dawn.

It is pleasant, indeed, while the summer lasts, With the mild peasant’s song. But now I feel the north wind’s blast, The thunderous weather strong. Alas, alas this night seems so long I despair and cry; For here, without the summer’s sun, All must wilt and die.
