Yeah, I guess it’s true that Yanagi also got inserted into the actual friend group last and that was only after he was used as a romantic plot device to get Yuki moving her feet. I might need to reread some chapters just to see how much Yanagi participated in everyone’s antics. I’m just remembering how Miyamura slept over with all the other guys in the group and the whole period bit were without Yanagi.
But, he’s very well liked and from experience I can tell that’s how it is with all friend groups with a more reserved friend. We all tend to obsess over one person to make them feel more included and pretty soon it becomes real. It was really cute seeing everyone taking care of Yanagi and wanting to call him on a first name basis.
I also like how it pushed Miyamura into a more social role since he mostly played the same role Yanagi does now.
The way Yanagi kind of got inserted into the friend group, it feels like he has other closer friends. I know that isn’t the case since we only see him hanging out with the main cast, but doesn’t it seem that way because he’s so reserved? He even says he talks more impolitely with those he considers as friends.
