Rey wasn’t sure what he meant. “I didn’t learn to control anything until Snoke found me. I just knew it was too loud and that I had to leave, to have space so I could breath.” She told him simply. To her it wasn’t so much a need to control the force, as a need for peace and quiet. Which she supposed was close enough. “... That was another compliment, wasn’t it?” She asked, frowning, though it seemed more in relation to her own inability to catch onto simple things than at him.
“FN’s job is to protect me. From myself is he is required to.” She pointed out softly. “But I will speak with him. If I give him a direct order to remove the guards, he will remove them.” She told Ben gently. She knew it was bothering him. “It’s his job to be suspicious. He’s doing it very well, if I do say so myself.” She smiled at Ben brightly. “And would you rather he not be suspicious of everyone and me get hurt?” She pointed out. She’d been hurt before because FN and the rest of his guards were not there, because they weren’t allowed in the party. She’d been told that wasn’t happening ever again.
Rey shrugged. “I found a farmer on Tatooine, who liked strange desert plants. That’s where most of these came from. They had traveled to Jeddah before it was destroyed and collected seeds.” She motioned to the plant that was currently settling back into it’s quiet state in the force, though it did seem to leave a feeling of peace around it. “I paid for it and many of the other plants here. I thought it was worth while to have them around. There are plenty of seeds in storage as well, in case this one dies, or I find a planet I think would suit for my home.” She had yet to feel a connection to any planet in that way, really. Even Jakku felt foreign anymore.
Maybe she was just doomed to live in space the rest of her life.

Rey tilted her head to look at him as he said he admired her. “I only didn’t hear anything because I ran away.” She answered calmly, as if that was a simple thing to do. “Further away from Niima Station and everywhere else. You were there… the only living things were animals and plants…” She didn’t understand how knowing to go away from the loudness was strength. It made sense to a six year old girl to tired to care what happened to her next and promising herself she’d somehow survive. For family that didn’t even care if she existed. “It was always loud at Niima.” She added softly.
“… You are trusted by me, but that is a personal matter, and FN’s job is to worry about the non-personal. I’m certain you can understand why he might put a Solo under guard?” She asked rather pointedly. He wasn’t going to be able to avoid his heritage while here. She did seem annoyed however, in an undercurrent through the force. She was not pleased with FN’s decision, but she was aware of the reasoning. The plant Ben touched responded to the touch through the force, reaching out to touch him with it before settling. Rey came up beside him to look at it. “It’s from a place called Jeddah. It feels for threats with the force. it’s a strange plant. It’s flowers are purple.”
Ben shook his head, “Running from it and doing what you did is still admirable. You tried to keep yourself from losing control while you learned to handle the Force.” He knew she hated when people complimented her, especially when he did it, but that didn’t mean he was going to stop. He wanted her to get used to it. To know that she was amazing, and he thought so. She deserved to know she wasn’t whatever Snoke told her she was.
He fought back a sigh when she mentioned FN’s job. He knew what the Trooper’s job was, that didn’t mean he had to like it. He furrowed his brows and tilted his head to the side. “If I’m trusted by you…then he should trust your judgement enough to know that if you believe I’m not threat to you or personnel, then I’m not,” he shook his head. “I understand not trusting a Solo, but I’ve show I’m not my father…and I’m here now and no one has gotten hurt. You or otherwise..”
He looked at the flower as it moved toward him and touched the tips of his fingers, smiling a little. “Jeddah…” he trailed off, even saying the word seemed to make the Force inside of him and around him shudder. Ben’s smile was small as he reached out for the plant again, letting it feel that he wasn’t a danger. “I thought Jeddah was destroyed…how’d you find it?” he asked.

Rey smiled up at Ben as he looked down at her. He had a pretty smile. She wondered how often he did actually smile. “Spinebarrels saved my life. I couldn’t handle Niima Station… to loud, overwhelmingly loud.” She murmured softly. “The Hellhound Two was the perfect distance away and there was no need for a water vaporizer either.” She smiled thinking about it. Then it had been easy, compared to now. If she could speak to the child who’d found the AT-AT, the girl would be so confused by the older version of herself. Dressed in all black and in charge of the entire galaxy. Humble beginnings.
Rey glanced towards the door. “We are technically alone now.” She pointed out with a motion to the fact that at least inside the room they were alone. “Or are you hoping FN will be convinced to call off his guards?” She asked pointedly with half a smile. “Because it might take a bit for him to be convinced to do so.” She was used to the guards, honestly. Her gaze flicked to the other plants. “All of them, really. They all come from desert planets. They can survive in climates most other plant’s can’t and I find that… reasurring.”
Ben’s smile softened as she told him that the Spinebarrels had saved her, that they’d quieted things down for her. He couldn’t even imagine being alone while his Force powers got stronger. “I admire you, Rey,” he said, his voice quiet. “Your strength…I wouldn’t have been able to do what you did…survive on your own, have a handle on the Force enough to not hear everything all the time…You’re amazing, Rey..” He wondered if anyone had ever told her that, though he had a feeling no one had.
He glanced at the door and he furrowed his brows and nodded, “I absolutely want Finn to call off his guards, yes,” he said as he gave her a smile. When she brought up the plants again he took a small step back and let his eyes move over all of the flowers. “They’re beautiful,” he said again as he went over to another plant and gently touched the leaves.

Ben’s heart swelled behind his ribs when she spoke about the finding the flowers beautiful in the dust bowl that was Jakku. He smiled more as he watched her, tilting his head to the side. “I like that you found something that made your life a little more bearable there,” he said quietly as he watched her touch the spines just as he did. He grinned more when Rey mentioned coming back in three hours. “I’d love to,” he said as he looked down at her. She said that the she liked the flowers that glowed at night, and he wanted to see those and he wanted to see the look on her face when she looked at them.
“Do you think we’ll be able to come alone?” he asked as he glanced over at the Stormtroopers behind them. “I promise I won’t do anything,” he said more to them than to her. He chuckled as he went over to Rey, getting just into her space as he looked at the vine on the wall. “What else do you like here?” he asked, his voice quiet.
Rey smiled up at Ben as he looked down at her. He had a pretty smile. She wondered how often he did actually smile. “Spinebarrels saved my life. solo-dyad:
Ben followed her, his hands at his sides as she brought him to almost the back of the greenhouse. The temperature had sweat breaking out over his forehead and at the back of his neck, though Rey seemed unaffected. He figured it was something she was used to, the heat. Jakku was a desert planet, she’d lived there long enough to become accustom to extreme temperatures. He walked with her, glancing behind them every once in a while at the Troopers that were flanking them. He reached up and wiped his forehead with the back of his arm as she opened another door and they were led into another room with dry air. He glanced at Rey as she mentioned the flowers, noticing the smile on her face.
He loved when she smiled. His heart lurched in his chest as he grinned back.
His eyes fell next to the Spinebarrel and he reached out, gently touching the spines with his fingertips, “It’s not as…spiky…as I thought it would be,” he murmured as he touched it again. He dropped his hand and he looked at her, tilting his head to the side as he looked at the flowers again. “I like that you brought some of Jakku with you,” he said quietly. He half lied. He didn’t want her to have to remember that place if she didn’t need to, but he like that she’d found something beautiful that meant so much to her in that desert. “I wanna see the night ones bloom…guess we’ll have to come back after the sun sets…or whatever virtual sun you have working here,” he chuckled.
Rey didn’t notice the troopers at all, though they noticed her and him, keeping far enough back to not be obtrusive but close enough to make themselves felt by Ben. They were aware they couldn’t stop him if he wanted to hurt anyone, but it was the perception of things, really. The troopers temperaments were calm and relaxed as they stayed outside the desert room.
Rey hummed appreciatively as he gently touched the flower. “They do have nasty spines, but they are in bloom and don’t want anything to be killed getting to them.” She answered easily, reaching past him to run her fingers under the flower, to show where the ‘spine’ bit was. She smiled up at Ben as he spoke. “I collected flowers on Jakku and dried them out. It was a way to keep a little bit of beauty that can be found there.” Sometimes she did miss that part of it, but now she didn’t have to dry them, so it was better. Though she did have a collection of dried flowers in her quarters still. From planets she’d visited and couldn’t stay long enough to get a living plant from.
The woman moved to the currently bland looking vine like plant and a hologram popped up next to her. She flicked through it, eyeing the time. “... About three hours, apparently. We can come back then if you’d like.” She glanced back at him as she turned away from the hologram, that disappeared as she did so.

solo-dyad:
How could Snoke only have found her if there were other Force sensitive on this ship? Who knows how many there actually were in the First Order. He might have only wanted to train the strongest potential Force user, being Rey, but that didn’t mean he hadn’t been looking for others. He followed behind Rey when she headed toward the greehouses, clearly happy that she seemed to be. He followed closely, noting the two Troopers that walked with them, though he paid them no additional mind. They were there, and he figured they always would be. As long as they left him alone he didn’t care that they followed.
When they stepped off the elevator his eyes widened at all of the actual green in the place. Fruits and vegetables, flowers and trees and plants of every kind from different planets and systems. The deck was warm, different kinds of artificial sunlight streaming onto the flora depending on what color it needed. He laughed quietly, “Rey, this is amazing,” he said as she pointed out the different things that were growing. The glass wall to the right of them, a little far off, had flowers of every hue Ben could think of. “You have a pretty green thumb, huh?” he chuckled as he took hold of her hand. “Show me your favorite spot on this deck…that’s a good place to start.”
Rey wasn’t about to explain that she made herself too difficult for Snoke. She was willful on a good day, after all. She didn’t like doing what she was told, she argued and fought even when she shouldn’t. Jakku had taught her how to not give up. Ever. It was a problem that had been solved by Snoke’s death. She was all too aware of her many faults.
She glanced at Ben as he laughed, head tilting a bit in confusion. “I don’t.” She answered easily. “But this was planned before I took control. I just had half of it converted into decorative plants. I personally thing trading with systems is much more important, but this ship is too big to import that much food.” She did have a collection of dried flowers, however. Just a flower here or there that she found beautiful. She glanced down as he took her hand, finding the touch both exciting and soothing. That was still strange. She could feel his interest in the bond and amazement.
“Hm...” She glanced at the flowers again and started towards them. “There is a space near the back of the decorative area. It was specifically set up as a garden.” She lead the way inside the greenhouse. It was much warmer in here, but she barely noticed. Heat was not something Rey really cared about. It was cold that was an issue. It took a few moments to wander through the decorative flowers, trees and ferns before they stopped before another door and she had to take her hand back to put it on a scanner. The door opened to show a rather simple largish room. It was full of more desert like flowers and plants. It was drier in this room as well, though no less warm. “I know it’s desert plants, but I’ve found they can be most beautiful.” She mused as she entered. She pointed at a rather unassuming plant with no flowers. “That only blooms at night and has the most stunning white flowers.” She smiled a little. “And this is from Jakku.” She moved to stand next to a very thorny flower that looked more like a thistle than anything else. “I don’t know it’s real name, but on Jakku it’s called a Spinebarrel. There’s a spring under the AT-AT and a few of these were growing there.” Its how she found her home when she’d been too young to understand what that really meant.

solo-dyad:
He let the jab about all life being important go, not bothering to comment. He wasn’t a true Jedi, he was more grey, he always had been. Some people deserved to be ended and others forgiven given the circumstances. He hadn’t been blinded by the Jedi teachings like the ideologues had. “Luke found young Jedi and trained them to be Jedi….Snoke found them and forced them to be Stormtroopers…I don’t think it matters how many Force sensitive people are in the First Order..” Ben looked at her and he tilted his head to the side as he listened to her, a small smile curling the corners of his lips as she teased him, or came close to it, though what she said did sting just a little. “Well Finn…seems strong,” he said quietly. “Why wouldn’t Snoke take you and him and train you both?” he arched an eyebrow.
At her asking about where he wanted to go, he bit back his answer of ‘Manufacturing’, but noticed the smile on her face when she mentioned the greenhouses. His heart warmed and his own smile softened as he nodded, “The greenhouses sound interesting,” he set his hand on the small of her back, “Lead the way.”
Rey shook her head. “Snoke didn’t find anyone but me.” It was a quick answer. Technically he found Ben as well, but that was an obvious one. The child of Leia Organa was going to be force sensitive, especially if you knew who her father was. She shook her head a bit at his question. “He’s not nearly as strong as your or I. He wouldn’t have survived Snoke’s teaching methods.” Hell she’d barely survived them. She had scars to prove it, too. In simpler terms, Ben and herself were much more interesting than Finn. “Not to say he’s not strong, but that he’s not strong enough. Snoke only cared about strength, nothing else.” A well learned lesson, but Rey had learned on Jakku there was more than one kind of strength. She’d seen people be kind there, even if it was damn near impossible.
And she’d seen Troopers help one another, another kind of strength.
She watched Ben as he decided where he wanted to go. She smiled brightly at his choice. “Alright then.” With that they left the suit room and out into the hanger. Two troopers fell in behind them, and she seemed to not notice them at all as she lead the way to the elevator. She stepped inside and eyed them as they followed. “And I can assume FN is monitoring us as well?” The nods from the helmets had her shaking her head, but there was an almost smile on her lips before it faded. “The greenhouses are more for food, but there’s flowers and decorative plants there as well.” She seemingly was ignoring the two guards now. She wasn’t, she was aware of them, but their job was to be ignored until needed.
It didn’t take long to arrive on the deck the Greenhouses were housed on. Stepping out of the elevator it was warmer, and a bit humid. “Hm, where to start? The left is where all of the nutritional plants are kept. Fruits, grains, vegetables... uh...” She paused trying to figure out if there was something else. “We can’t grow everything, but the basics are all there.” She glanced at the right, eyes lingering on a glass wall that showed pops of color. “And that way is the flowers and less critical plants.”

solo-dyad:
“A little surprised, yeah,” he nodded a she looked down at her with a small shrug. “I guess I didn’t realize that the initial Stormtrooper collectors before you might have scooped up kids that were Force sensitive,” he said quietly. He was pulled up a little short when she said the Royal Guard were Force sensitive. He could feel that the more he concentrated on it, but the Captain seemed stronger than most.
“I’m not surprised, I just didn’t stop to think about it,” he told her truthfully. “Stormtroopers were just Stormtroopers to me until I met you,” He told her quietly. “I didn’t exactly try and figure out what Snoke did or didn’t do when it came to other Force sensitives…I figured he wanted the strongest ones, hence you, and he didn’t pay attention to anyone weaker.” He glanced over at who he believed was ‘FN’ and he chuckled, “Finn?” he asked, his eyebrows going up. “No, I can feel he’s strong too,” he agreed. “I didn’t say he was weak, he’s the strongest Stormtrooper I can feel on this ship…It’s a shame he doesn’t wanna learn. He’d be good at it.”
Rey found herself smiling a little at his honestly. “Skywalker is one person looking for powerful force users. The First Order was looking for children who were easy to take.... who’s going to find more force sensatives?” She knew that was a bit cold, but she’d been taken for exactly the same reason. She was easy. No one to turn her against, no one to claim her. No one on Jakku would have even noticed her disapearance. “We tend to make our families terrified of us by our mere existance.” That was also said rather coldly. It was, she was certain, why her own family had left her on Jakku. What parent wanted to deal with an angry feral child who could throw things with her mind and shake rooms?
Not her’s.
She gave him an odd look when he said they were just stoormtroopers. “And I thought the Jedi were taught that every living being was unique.” It was almost a tease. “They were always people.” For a Sith she had a very strange view of life. Though she’d kept it to herself. Chaos was useful, but at this point the Galaxy needed order. And she’d give it that if it killed her, at this point. “He wanted the strongest, yes.” Snoke had always said she was only ‘second’. But the requirement of fully focusing on her made him lose whatever control he had over Ben. She supposed that was a good thing.
She glanced at where she could feel FN. “I think Finn is easier than FN.” She answered easily. “If I get a name, so should they.” Being that she was well aware even her own name wasn’t her’s, more than likely. “He’s not as strong as me, so he was ignored. It may have saved his life.” She shrugged as she turned towards the door. “And he would, I agree. I think he’s too worried about me getting hurt to allow himself to learn something knew. Maybe once things settle... after we deal with... him....” She frowned, gaze flicking off where she knew, mentally, strange ships were appearing.
“So, where do you want to see first? Bridge? Manufacturing? We even have our own greenhouses.” She smiled at the last word. She liked plants. More than she really let on.

solo-dyad:
He followed behind Rey as they walked out of the Ebon Hawk and down the gangway. He felt something flutter across the Force and he frowned, not sure what it was. Ben stood up a little straighter when they saw the Troopers and his fingertips brushed against themselves, trying not to look suspicious. His fight or flight was kicking in and he kept himself under control. He paid attention to the Captain of the Troopers in front of them, the fluttering from the Force was coming from him. He heard Rey defend him and he couldn’t help the smile that stretched across his face. He tilted his head to the side before she spoke and got his attention.
Ben nodded in agreement as he looked down at the flight suit he was in too. He followed beside Rey, glancing over his shoulder and then back at the Empress. “You have Troopers that can use the Force?” he asked, keeping his voice quiet so only she could hear. He wondered if the man behind the helmet knew; if he did, why would he stay a Stormtrooper? The Jedi took off the flight suits and hung it up, stretching a little and making sure his saber and blaster were secure.
Rey glanced at Ben as he spoke. She could tell no one else could hear and she smiled just a little. “You’re surprised?” She was actually surprised there weren’t more force users in the galaxy. It wasn’t like it was tied to blood. Anyone could have it. Everyone technically did, but some were more aware. She glanced at the trooper following them. “He’s aware. So are the rest. The entire ‘Royal Guard’ are force sensative.” She shrugged as she moved to pull off her suit.
“I’d have trained them, but they like themselves the way they are, and who am I to force what I know on them?" She put the helmet back before turning to look at Ben. “In an organization that is big enough to hold the galaxy, are you really surprised there are force sensatives? Your uncle couldn’t have found them all.” She crossed her arms with a bit of a smile. “Snoke ignored them because they weren’t strong enough. Anything less than me... or you, would be worthless to train, in his eyes.” She flicked her gaze back to the door, where she could feel the trooper. She didn’t really dwell on her implication about Ben, focused on the troopers. “FN is... not weak, however.” When she said FN, it almost sounded like Finn. “But I can’t force him to learn anything, beyond what he picks up.”

solo-dyad:
Ben nodded, “No, not today,” he agreed. “I’d like that tour, thanks,” he grinned now. He was feeling a little better at the moment because she seemed to be feeling a little better. He reached out and brushed his fingers down her arm before he let his hand fall to his side, not sure if she’d want him to touch her. He reached up and pat the Ebon Hawk’s wall, “I’ll be seeing you later,” he said to the ship as he pat it again. “Get ready to get out to flying again, it’ll be here sooner than you know it.” His attention went back to Rey, “Lead the way,” he gestured to the outside of the ship.
Hazel eyes watched him a moment as he reached out to touch her. She didn’t move away or make any indication she wasn’t alright with what he’d done. She’d cried in his arms the day before, but still, physical touch sometimes surprised her. She nodded as he accepted the tour. That she could do. She stepped past him towards the ramp as he closed up the ship’s hyperdrive. She sensed a familiar mind and smiled a little as they walked down the plank. Standing at the end was a trooper, and behind him was an array of them. “Empress.” The man’s voice was modulated, but it couldn’t hide the spike of the force that almost instinctually reached out towards herself from him.
Rey seemed a bit surprised to see him as she came to a stop at the bottom of the ramp, arms crossing. She was still dressed in the flight suit from earlier. “Can I assume Hux decided I needed a guard?” She asked pointed. The captain of the group shook his head.
“No, Ma’am. I heard we had Mr. Solo aboard and decided you could use an escort. I didn’t realize we allowed enemies to view, muchless fly, our tech.” There was anger there and Rey sighed, rolling her eyes.
“If Solo wanted to cause damage, there isn’t much you could do to stop him, Captain. The escort won’t be needed. He’s not an enemy.” She responded pointedly at her Captain of the Guard. She could feel his glare through his helmet. This particular soldier had been about to leave when she’d felt him, his force presence bright. he wasn’t the strongest force user, but with training he could wield quite a bit of power. Though that required broching that subject and she hadn’t figured out how to do it. She glanced at Ben.
“Come on, I need to get out of this, and then we can go.” With that she walked past the trooper, ignoring the anger she felt coming off of him and back towards where she’d first changed. The troopers moved out of both of their ways, though they didn’t leave the hanger and the Captain followed them.

Almost 200 people were murdered in Armenia in 3 days and y'all are still ignoring us.
This is not war, this is a massacre Azerbaijan and Turkey are committing against the Armenian people.
Turkey's president literally admitted that he wants to finish what his ancestors started. He wants to commit another genocide, and this time he wants to kill us all.
Silence is violence
