No but really I love that after Darcy’s second proposal and Lizzy’s (awkward) (vulnerable) (affirmative) response Darcy DOES say something, he does elaborate and you know it’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever heard in your life but Austen doesn’t tell us what. Austen drops the veil for a second and only tells us what his face looks like and that Lizzy is unable to meet his gaze. And tbh that makes it perfect.
