If you have a minute to spare...

I’m sorry, you guys, that my posts have been few and far between, and the day I come to post, it’s about this. I don’t really know what I’m trying to achieve. Part of me just hopes this resonates with someone... 

A dear friend of mine has been having these strange “attacks” that started about four days ago. He’s been to the ER twice, but because of the world’s current situation, he was turned away with some “workaround” for whatever he was going through.

At first the attacks didn’t really have a pattern. He’d have about two or three a day (never one). They each involved tremors in his limbs, collapsed lungs, (difficulty breathing and extreme tightness in the chest) and nearly fainting.

This friend of mine has been working a night shift job for the past x years. A doctor finally told him that that lifestyle is possibly the root of all this. 

The “pattern” that’s now documented is that he gets the attacks when he’s at rest (!!!) According to his doctor, his body is at the point where it doesn’t know night from day, rest from work, and it is beginning to reject attempts to sleep. I’m so worried because...how stressed does the human body have to be to associate sleep with such “non-productivity” that it outright rejects it?

I don’t know how to end this post...I guess all I want to really say is do your very best to take care of yourself, and get the rest that you need before it’s “too late”  😟 before you’re body “doesn’t understand”

If you’re on a the night shift too, please don’t stay too long. Please find a way to come into a day shift job. If you’re working professional, a student, or both, and you find yourself constantly grinding 18 hours a day, please at least make sure you’re in your deepest sleep between 10pm and 3am.

COVID-19 has disrupted the way we live. We are all expected to be “perpetually connected”. I personally struggle putting my foot down, especially since I work for a global organization, and my team consists of at least two and up to four time zones at a time.

Still. Please do your best. We are at the worst of it, you guys, but I’m sure humanity will figure something out soon. Hang in there.

[Personal; ramble] I’m just here to say I miss you, tumblr and my FMA fam 🥺 I wasn’t able to draw or write anything over Christmas and New Year. I wasn’t able to serve any Royai because ya girl got hit by the want to sleep all day every day and so she didn’t realize her art block was so real.

The tablet pen froze on December 27 😭

But I continue to promise that I’ll be back. Lemons and all 🍋 (yes I promise to finish this fic, too. I had a pretty good streak of finished fics in 2020 huhu)

OOOOO oh my goodness this brings back all the good memories of working on this with the lovely and incredibly talented @hirayaart :’) <3 I think the first scene we put down was the scene where Riza was getting all tipsy and uncharacteristically... enthusiastic about Mustang’s appearance, which was what inspired the art in the first place xD that was a real fun ride, though - drunk Riza and role reversals are tropes that I will never tire of reading and writing xD
