Pink Flashing Research Part 2

I've done a bit more research and testing on the subject of pink flashing (Thanks to everyone from my Discord who contributed!)

I came up with a "duct tape", temporary solution for Mansion & Garden players, in the form of an ASI mod, available with instructions under the cut.

Let me know how it goes! This won't fix crashes and won't work in every case, but people have seen improvements. Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this at some point. I might make it a part of RPC eventually.

Usage and drawbacks:

All this mod does is ignore when the game tells materials to start flashing, which can result in them working fine as the game tends to misjudge the amount of available memory and make stuff pink flash when it's not really necessary.

This can result in pink flashing being gone and everything looking normal or stuff that would normally pink flash simply turning invisible.

If you see things start turning invisible in-game, type in the cheat "boolprop reparseshaders true" (without the quotes of course)

Installation Instructions:

If you use Sims2RPC, copy the "NoErrorVisualization.asi" file into your "(Mansion & Garden Install folder)/TSBin/mods" folder. (e.g "C:/Origin Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection/Fun with Pets/SP9/TSBin/mods")

If you don't use Sims2RPC you will need a cracked Sims2EP9.exe, then copy the "NoErrorVisualization.asi" file into your M&G TSBin folder, and download an ASI Loader: (SFS/Dropbox). Copy this dsound.dll file in TSBin alongside the .asi file.

Little Community Series - No CC Dorms & Apartments Edition - Part 1

This is the first installment of my Dorm and Apartment creations! I have really been into making community style lots as you may have already seen with my Bay View Court and Harper Court creations. Today I am sharing the first of probably many multi-building sets, just to get them out there.

I wanted the dorms in my University towns to actually look more closely like the dorms where I went to college. So i gave them all a more community like feel. Llama Plaza and LaLlama Dorms also have a special dorm room for the building R.A. complete with their own private bathroom and connected to the front desk for their “work-study” time. All buildings are CC free.

First are 3 dorm lots. So sorry, but these are pretty pointless if you don’t have University (or Ultimate Collection).

The House I Grew Up In" Legacy Challenge

The Story:

Newlyweds spend their life savings building the house of their dreams! But they haven't got any money to furnish it! They move in with their parents old furniture and their university furniture and get to work making the house of their Dreams.

The Setup:

in CAS make a husband and wife, one MUST have fortune aspiration and the other doesn't matter.

use money cheats to build the foundation walls, windows, doors, outside paint (bricks/siding) and roof of a 5+ bedroom house - Be ambitious! Plan the perfect house!

After house is roughed in furnish with

cheapest couch

cheapest TV

cheapest table

2 cheap chairs

cheapest stove

cheapest fridge

2 cheap counters

2 cheap sinks

cheapest toilet

cheapest shower

cheapest double bed

Reduce funds to 2,000

House Rules:

Must have:

Kitchen

When purchasing furniture MUST buy from top 3 most expensive to fit with your ideal interior design plan

Game Rules:

No cheats during gameplay

Cheats allowed - Inteenimator and realistic pregnancy

No Children until Nursery is furnished and decorated AND one sims wants to

No one is allowed to move out of the house

If University is available Young Adults may go to university but must move back into their parents house

No Nannies, Maids, Gardeners etc...

You can have as many children as you want but since no one can move out be careful!

Goals:

Generation 1: Starting Out

Fortune Aspiration Sim reach top of career

*No children until Fortune Sim reaches level 5 career

at least 3 rooms have max environment

Children get A+ on report Cards

Generation 2: Making a name

Reach top of Business or Politics Career

250, 290 & 330 Main Street, Pleasantview Makeover

Yeah, so the Community lot buildings in Pleasantview were always so blah to me and painful for my sims to visit. I decided to work on them a bit and make them worthy of my sims presence :)

250 Main Street is considered the "community pool" area, it looks fairly decent, but needed some sprucing up. I added some real eating areas, locker/shower areas for men and women as well as a nice little area for a "smoothie" and chat. I also decided the parking lot needed to at least look like somebody drove to the lot. IJS.

I added lighting for the safety of our sims to swim at night and to make it just look bettah!

290 Main Street just let me down everytime. The grocery store was alright, but I wanted more of that mini mall feel that I expected from this visit. So I made it happen by turning the arcade into more of an arcade, adding a full retail clothing store upstairs (yes, there is an upstairs now) along with a coffee shop and manager's office. There are outdoor food vendors in the courtyard along with vending machines and plenty of lighting. I did the same thing to the parking lot as 250 Main Street just for a bit of realism you know?

330 Main Street was a treat to makeover. The playground was a little sad with just the swingset for the kiddies. They deserve more, you know? So I added more playground furniture and of course, fixed the parking lot. Instead of a retail clothing store, I turned it into a computer resource center with a fully equipped reception area and modern, cubicled computers. Upstairs is a large balcony for our artistic sims to utilize easels and make....um....art. Got rid of the funky roof for a more modern look.

I hope you enjoy these creations as much as my sims do. Of course, these lots, do include CC. The CC is included in the package. I thought about making these CC free, but only if enough people request it. I don't mind at all! Just let me know! Enjoy!

Clean Pleasantview Templates - Rerelease (Fixed Dead Version)

Hello friends.

It’s been many years since I first released my clean templates - 7 and a half to be exact, it would seem. Time sure does fly!

So what is this? Something I’ve been meaning to do for a while - a release of my templates. This is part 1, Pleasantview. The others will be coming as I finish them

They are, honestly, not all that different to my originals from 2011-2012, just some minor fixes here and there, so don’t feel like you have to replace your current play-neighbourhood. Just, if you want to start a new Pleasantview sometime soon, you might want to consider these. :)
