I like that The Chalice of the Gods is technically cozy fantasy. The Percy Jackson books (including Heroes of Olympus, and The Trials of Apollo) are filled with high stakes and violence. And yeah, there are definitely stakes in The Chalice of the Gods, and they’re high in their own way (but not apocalyptic high), but we see more cozy moments, like Percy doing homework, Percy and Annabeth and Grover hanging out after school, Percy and Annabeth helping Percy’s mom and step-dad make dinner. Another part of it being cozy fantasy is that it all takes place in Percy’s home of NYC. But with this cozy fantasy it gives us another way to view the high stakes we’ve seen, even for Percy. Everything seems so much more important, especially the little details of life, Percy’s own life is suddenly so much more important, and not because gods are giving him life or death stakes and asking him to save the world, but because he realizes how much he loves his life. He loves family dinners, he likes dates with Annabeth, he likes spending time with Grover, he even values the little gesture from his dad at the end. And it makes you actually want to be there with him this time. You want to sit down at Himbo Juice and try a Salty Sailor, you want to wander the farmer’s market, you want to see if maybe you could help Percy with his homework. It’s obviously written in the classic Percy Jackson style we all know and love, but this time with more focus on Percy’s personal life. I can’t wait for the next book.

i like to think when annabeth and percy get married percy takes annabeths last name

i feel like the name “percy jackson” has so much history connected to so much trauma and it’s known by so many monsters/gods alike that he’s just done with it he just wants a new beginning and takes annabeths last name to symbolize that

maybe they name their first kid jackson giving that name a new meaning

instead of jackson the name following destroyer attached to a killer of thousands of monsters a hero of olympus twice over its jackson, maybe just jack for short, a baby something of life a kid who gets to grow up a kid rather then a soldier someone meant to live not told to die

i like the idea that no one really thinks that’s gonna happen maybe sally jokes with annabeth that she’ll be the new mrs jackson maybe people even talk about the power that name holds (literally lmao)

then during one of the nights their planning their wedding they’re curled up together percy’s head against her chest getting ready for bed and percy confesses how much that name has haunted him

maybe annabeth confesses that she’s always liked her last name and though she didn’t care enough to fight against the name change but she’s more then happy to keep it

maybe she’s the first person to call percy by that new name that night, whispering it against the top of his head

maybe it doesn’t roll off the tongue the same way but maybe that’s also the whole point

does this fully imply that Brizo is confused by Percy's lineage and chalked the son of Poseidon up to being a sailor

got reminded again of my silly hc that the reason why Percy has prophetic dreams more often than the average demigod is that Brizo (greek goddess who sends prophetic dreams to sailors) is just constantly throwing prophetic dreams at him rapid-fire like a frenzied baseball pitcher

I know in the books it’s already like, a Thing that Percy’s relationship with his godly family seems to be abnormally good- like, Poseidon’s not dad of the year but he’s also made it clear he deeply cares about Percy and has tried to warn/protect him in the past, there’s been brief references here and there that after tlo Percy started spending time in the underwater palace occasionally, he calls Amphitrite his step-mom and says she bakes him cookies and doesn’t mind that he’s messy when he stays over, he brought back that pendant Annabeth wears, little stuff like that- but tbh I wish it would be expanded on more because apart from the fact it’s sweet, it’s also like, kinda funny? when you think about how all the other gods are just. messes. about family. like let me just SEE him interact with his family more, it has such potential. He casually mentions he’s meeting his sister Kym at starbucks later and Jason’s like ‘she sold you out to a giant that wanted to murder you’ and Percy’s just like ‘yeah but that was months ago and dad made her apologize we’re cool now’. Annabeth still hasn’t forgiven her mom for the whole Mark-of-Athena-Suicide-Quest thing and they had a huge fight on Olympus the other day, the first time they had seen each other since the war ended, and Annabeth’s complaining about this to Percy, who’s Iris Messaging her from the bottom of the ocean because it’s Poseidon’s custody weekend. There’s a mandatory parent bake sale at school to raise money for a field trip but Sally’s on a book tour and Paul was prepared to just quit after he set the kitchen on fire, only for Amphitrite to stroll into the school the next day and ruin every PTA Mom’s life. Percy telling his friends to stay out of the water for a few days because he called Triton a bitch in the family group chat and he just wanted them to be careful. Percy trying to figure out if a bunch of Greek gods are expecting Christmas presents or not and wtf to get them if they are. Triton wanting to get Percy back for the bitch comment but knowing their dad won’t let him drown someone so he instead shows up at Percy’s mortal high school and does The Most to embarrass him. Tyson begging Percy to let him help babysit Estelle. Poseidon showing up at Career Day with absolutely no warning and trying not to laugh at Percy’s reaction. Percy getting his dad a fathers day card like he wanted to do in SoM!! Like it’s a dynamic I don’t want pushed to the side as much as it is!!! There’s so much to work with there!!! I want more!

oh my god please a percabeth au and percy is an activist and annabeth is an architect and they meet before a protest on land being developed/being taken away but plot twist annabeth is on this project and she has to rethink her morals and her idea of her self worth being tied to accomplishments like making the best biggest monument of a building for a bunch of rich people

the show changing thalia and annabeth's relationship allows for so many interesting dynamics. but especially between percy and thalia. give me that scene where thalia calls percy 'seaweed brain' and percy damn near drowns her in a lake. give me that scene where percy and thalia are incredibly hostile to one another because 'he/she doesn't know annabeth like i do'. give me that scene where percy and thalia are having a screaming match and he calls her out for how she owes annabeth an apology and then some for reinforcing that fear in annabeth that she has to be more than herself to be loved. give that scene where thalia breaks down crying because she sacrificed her life to save annabeth. but it wasn't enough to convince her she loved her.

let me live in my sunshine rainbow world where they're all friends, are each other's 'found family,' where hazel, piper, and annabeth are best friends, where leo, jason, frank, and percy are like brothers, where jason and piper never existed, where hazel and piper were actually friends (that they should've been), and leo and percy are the most sarcastic and funny people you've ever met (and they make each other even funnier)!!!!!
