A harmless Yōkai with a friendly nature. Haradashi can appear in a number of ways; a kindly old nun, a female monster, or a headless body. With all forms Haradashi takes, she has a large, funny looking face on her torso that she uses to make people laugh. She comes to those that are sadly drinking alone, and if they offer her sake, she will show them her belly and dance to cheer them up.
Haradashi will sometimes take up residence inside an old temple. If a person is lost or seeking refuge from a storm, she will invite them in to stay the night. This isn't where this Yōkai's hospitality ends. Haradashi will provide a comfortable room and warm meal to her guest, complete with belly dancing as entertainment.
This doll is made of; polymer clay with a wire armature and acrylic paint. Her yukata is made with fabric, and her hair ornaments are mostly wire and nail art decor.
((This doll is a personal interpretation inspired by japanese folklore. I do not speak for, or claim to be any kind of authority on Japanese culture, as I am not Japanese.))
Fuck it all. I’m going back to my ORIGINAL art style (Circa 2012). I had taken a three year break from art. My relationship at the time had me so mentally drained that I didn’t want to even draw or work on my projects. So I’m going back to my roots with art and going from there.
I finally started on the full body concept for the main character Ayame and I can truly say that I'm very pleased with how this came out! More to come!
