How to Create a Mobile Health App from Scratch
Designing and developing a mobile health app that performs effectively, looks well, and can be sustained is a challenge for healthcare professionals.
IDENTIFY A PROBLEM THAT REQUIRES A SOLUTION
According to Dr. Michelle Longmire, the key to successful mobile health app design is understanding how and why consumers will want to use the app. Those unfamiliar with apps frequently regard mobility as a solution rather than a tool, resulting in the creation of something that resembles but does not improve a healthcare function, such as a mobile version of a health system's patient portal. That app may be beneficial, but not if it lacks added value, such as mobile-optimized features or data tailored to mobile users.
BE AWARE OF YOUR TARGET CLIENTS.
Because, as Gross puts it, “healthcare providers have famously not been consumer-driven,” they frequently make errors on this phase. Providers have just recently discovered the need to listen to what the public wants as a result of patient engagement programs and satisfaction surveys. In other words, suppliers need to know who will use the new app and why they will do so.
GET PRIVACY AND SECURITY EXPERTS TO CHECK IT OUT.
First and foremost, an app's privacy policy should be transparent, with information about it available before the program is purchased (if it's a paid app) or downloaded.
