In my stories, my Pokemon have both common and rare shines depending on environment.

So it's different for every one of us.

I just want to add here that in loupy-mongoose's story, when Akoya transformed for the first time Randy's mother mentioned that Akoya was an albino. It would be reasonable connection, since both shinys and albinos are considered quite rare.

I'm aware. However, that is what happens in Loupy's story. We don't all share the same headcanons. While I do like that connection in her universe and that it does make sense in a way, my universe is different. Shiny pokemon can be albino, but not all the time. Even if they have human disguises. Like Gwen, I've made a non-canon human design for her awhile back. She's shiny, but her human form wasn't albino.
