Okay I know some people think "Great Alastor, altruist, died for his friends." is Alastor genuinely implying he cares about the others and thinks of them as his friends, but like. I don't see it?
Alastor is very blatantly deeply distressed by the idea of being perceived and remembered that way. The confines of his deal and the way they weaken him are slowly driving him insane, losing a fight and almost dying has deeply shaken him, and the idea of being viewed as an altruist who sacrificed his life for his 'friends' is almost too much for him to bear at this point. He's manically panicked in this scene, he's not saying they're his friends, he's deeply viscerally upset about the mere idea of that perception.
He feels weak. He feels trapped. He feels like a cornered prey animal. He's speaking with panicked irony here. He is not calling them his friends genuinely or implying he'd actually die for them.

There are people I'd argue Alastor is genuinely fond of and could consider friends to an extent but guys, the hotel gang (minus maybe niffty) are not on that list.

The way Lute looked at Angel, saw how selfless he is, saw how much pain he's in, and still explicitly called him a crack whore who deserves to die is actually profoundly evil and if this woman got into heaven there is something deeply wrong.

I actually really like Cherri being a "bad influence".
Obviously, we all know she cares about Angel a lot. Everything we've seen of their friendship up to now has been supportive, and she doesn't want to hurt him or something.
But while Angel has been working on opening up and getting clean(?), Cherri hasn't had that opportunity. She tries to fuel his self destructive behaviors, not out of some kind of malice, but because she knows him, and she thinks it'll help. She thinks drugs will help, she thinks partying will help, she wants to help him forget and have fun instead of being miserable all the time.
But that's not what he needs anymore. He's changing for the better in a lot of ways Cherri can't necessarily relate to and doesn't know how to navigate, and it'll just probably take her some time to get to the point where she can switch from being the kind of friend he needed a few months ago to the kind of friend he needs now.

Uh- guys? Why does Charlie think Lucifer "didn't want to see her" after her parents split? I mean, we see very clearly how desperate he is to connect with her and how much he loves her. So what gave her the idea that he didn't..?

I'm just not sure I trust Lilith (for multiple reasons, but this is one of them).

Thinking about how Angel doesn't believe he's worth anything or is capable of being good and doesn't even know his love for other people is strong enough to literally cause crisis in heaven-

Okay no but I think Alastor seems quite fond of Mimzy, genuinely.
I don't know how much he Cares(tm) about her cause Alastor gives the impression of someone who doesn't necessarily form attachments the way most people do. But he's obviously very very comfortable around her.
His expressions are more at ease than they usually are, his voice is more genuine, a lot of the ways he expresses himself around her feels more real than anything else we've seen from him. He lets her be touchy and make flamboyant comments about him without ever seeming uncomfortable or upset like he does around everyone else (hell, he even initiated the hug when they first saw each other). He never threatens her and she isn't threatened by him (even when he kicks her out?). And it's clearly not an act they've been friends since they were alive (over one hundred years now??) and apparently she regularly comes to him for protection and favors without having her soul stolen or being threatened like, again, he's done (or tried to do) with literally every other person he's ever done anything for, and he seems happy with that.
Which makes it odd to me that he'd throw her out at all. He knows how she is, he doesn't seem to mind it, and in fact, he seems to enjoy her company generally. Hell, even when she outright challenges him on it, "You love taking care of me...there's no way you care about that place", he doesn't refute it, he just says "I can't have that here". Interestingly enough, while he's very tense, he also doesn't seem nearly as threatening even in this scene as he usually would, especially to someone he thinks disrespected him in some way, which only fuels my stance that he probably wouldn't usually throw her out like this under most circumstances.
But, well..he's "On someone else's leash" now. And I highly suspect that he doesn't have any choice except to protect the hotel (or charlie?) really. Which would explain why he threw out the only person he seems really fond of, why he keeps dodging the question of why he's helping the hotel in the first place, and possibly why he disappeared at the same time as Charlie's mom all those years ago..

I'm gonna write a full analysis on this later but guys I feel like Velvette is genuinely a lot smarter and more in control than some of y'all are giving her credit for, like, I don't think "The backbone of the Vees" is even an exaggeration.
