The latest in my series of liminal paintings! A little bit of a riff on Level 974 from the Backrooms. My first time making one of these using my Holbein gouache. I only have five colors in the set so it was a fun challenge to paint this using only those colors. Happy to finish this in time for my first big convention of the year!

My first solo table! Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by!

I had a small, one-day event last weekend and it was a lot of fun! Also a great opportunity to try a solo setup for the first time. Hoping I can make more art to fill it out in the coming year! Currently, anxiously waiting on application results for a few events; Tabling has been a lot of fun so far and I'd love to do more!

I had an event recently and amidst my very terrible artists block, my goal for it was to at least make one painting and one fanart piece. I wanted to try out my new gouache set that my friend @siribunbun gifted me, and since she's a huge fan of Genshin Impact, I thought my first work with the set should be from that! I really vibe with this Neuvillette guy so I chose him.

You went to tour an apartment.

Even with the struggle of really bad artists block, I'm really happy I was able to finish a painting. This is a continuation of my liminal series of paintings. I was thinking of Level 94, but from the inside. Though I think it ended up leaning into the dreamcore genre. For some reason the scanner didn't register the last character in my signature. I'll have to look into that.

I thought I'd finish my gouache painting and put it up before leaving town, but I still have a few more finishing details to do first. For now, here's some from the sketchbook. I'm not sure how I forgot all of these but here they are! To explain the last one, a while back I speculated that one of Douman's components as an Alter Ego was Hades. And that it would maybe be why he is in the Olympus chapter. And then Olympus hit the NA server and I was proven to be completely wrong, haha! The others are summery things and his outfit from one of the dreams.

Yeah, when I went to the Fate vendor on Friday they said that their Douman stuff doesn't last long, so I'm happy to hear you were able to get one of the standees! Hope you had a fantastic rest of the convention; I heard they had some great programming this year!

And OMG AAAAUAUAUAUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I feel so moved and honored to see how the book found a place in your home I'm absolutely speechless! ;u; Thank you so much for sharing the photo! (Also love the setup with all of the Babylonia and Camelot friends!) Cheers! :)

I realized I didn't post the final front and back cover of my Douman book of sketches; This was a lot of fun to make! While the originals are spread across numerous sketchbooks, it's so cool and surreal to have your own works compiled into a printed book! I think now I ought to draw lots more Douman because it would be fun to have two more books that have the second and third ascension on the cover. Kind of like a little trilogy.

A bit delayed in my posting but in the blink of an eye, Otakon has concluded!

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by the table! I enjoyed chatting with y'all! Overall it was such a fun and exciting experience; This was my second Artists Alley, but my first anime convention AA table!

Shout out to the Douman enjoyer who told me that there were Summer 7 Douman standees being sold in the vendors hall! I was able to get one and now he's home on my shelf.

All in all the convention experience has been fun and fulfilling. Definitely been a lot of work and preparation the past 5-6 months but it was worth it and I'm proud of myself to make it to the finish line! Even moreso that I finally went out and fulfilled my middle school dreams! And special thanks to @siribunbun for giving me the push to table, the help and support throughout the journey, and for being an awesome table artist buddy! (Check out her awesome art!)

What's next? Sadly a lot of local conventions this year already have their applications closed, so I possibly won't be tabling again until 2024. (If that changes I'll post an update! I do still have an app or two out) In the meantime I'll enjoy leisurely drawing~
