im sorry i don’t know if someone has said this before but do you guys mind if i just-

PSA to non-black fans of stranger things. lucas sinclair\caleb mclaughlin is a beautiful dark-skinned black boy. he is not light-skinned. nor is he in between or medium. he is a dark. skinned. black. boy. you got that? 

so when you make your moodboards or castings or art of lucas or whatever please keep in mind that whatever celeb you pick isn’t light and bright because lucas is DARK and LOVELY. for instance reece king and keith powers I’ve seen them be used one too many times.

do you ever look at caleb’s instagram stories or posts? if you do, you’d notice that he uses the last skintone for any people/hand emojis he uses. he uses the darkest skintone because he knows he is DARK. also? not all black people look alike. we generally have ’like’ FEATURES (noses, lips, hair etc.) but we do not. look. the. same.

so any celebrity you pull out of your ass that only looks like Lucas in terms of skintone? nah. you can keep that shit.

ignoring these blatant and obvious facts is pushing aside lucas’/caleb’s validity as a dark skinned black boy. also guess what? it’s an ugly form of racism as well. if you don’t care enough to try and take these things into consideration? then just leave lucas sinclair alone. just leave him be.

and it doesn’t matter if you do this/have done this intentionally or unintentionally. just don’t. learn and change. or don’t learn, don’t change and be a dick.

I’m very certain caleb looks at anything fanmade, and appreciates those that do not forget he is black and he is a dark-skinned boy. y'all would do well to remember.

Heck I just want Eddie to die in Richie's arms, like I'm not even asking for a cheek kiss because I'm sure even that's too much to hope for. But like the friendship between Eddie and Richie stands out so much in IT 2017 that him not dying in Richie's arms and having his last words be to him and having Richie be most affected by Eddie's death would just feel so wrong

right?? and eddies death scene is such a powerful scene for so many reasons; he literally sacrificed himself for his friends, the only ppl he ever truly loved, and he dies before he can finish his final words. which are directed at richie !! the whole dying before they can finish speaking trope isnt written when the dying character is just spouting nonsense. or saying something insignificant. its used when theyre saying something important, but also something that the protagonist, or whoever theyre speaking to, needs to figure out themselves. 

like when its used with plot points, the dying character might say “the key that youve been looking for…i know where it is…its in the castle…near the…the…” and then die. so they give the protagonist some information, but not all, bc the protag needs to do the rest themselves, have their own journey/their own arc. find the key. but those dying words are always the first step. theyre the push they need to start the journey. 

but this scenes at the end. so in this case, eddies dying words are supposed to close his and richies relationship arc. theyre like closure, in a way. but eddie doesnt get to finish speaking, leaves it open to interpretation for the reader, and for richie. so it doesnt seem like closure. but then richie kisses eddies cheek and lashes out. but then richie acknowledges that ‘he knew well enough’ and thats the closure !!!! we found the key. its a ‘oh, he loved him’ sort of moment. an ‘oh, eddie was rlly important to him’ moment. eddie gave us some information and richie gave us the rest. and maybe you can interpret it as platonic, sure. though theres plenty of evidence suggesting it was romantic. but it doesnt stop it from being a rlly significant moment for both eddie and richie. and for their relationship. and to ignore it and not include it would be such a disservice to both of them. 

#honestly the tragedy of canon is so great #like all the fluff in fanon is sooo good bc canon is sooo sad #and they don't get what they want #but there's such significant moments #that make the story #sooo good #and makes me feel a lot #also @ everyone that's read the book: #thank u bc it's so hard for me bc it's so sad lmao #but I love knowing the Facts
