silence. there was silence. the camp was deserted—no one was there, except for a son of hermes, luke castellan.

he was sitting by the lake, where they used to spend time together. he loved the place, he truly did only because you were there with him.

now, with you gone and everyone else, he hated it. he hated the lake, he hated every place because it was only him that was there. just him—no you.

and again, there was silence. the sun didn't shine like it used to, the moon didn't glow like it used to, the stars didn't twinkle like they used to, and the songs, the melodies, the notes, they didn't sound the same like they used to—like they used to when you were there.

the only thing he has left of you was in his hands, a small box labeled 'for my pretty boy'

he opened it and inside were pictures of you and him together. your first summer at camp, dates by the lake, birthdays, and that winter-solstice field trip where it all started—oh, and another one. a picture with you, luke, and annabeth together.

taking out the photos one by one, underneath those now bittersweet memories, were a couple of cds and a cd player.

one was labeled 'our favorite songs' another, 'dates by the lake' and another 'when u miss me'

he couldn't help it. a tear fell and soon tears fell. did he regret it? did he regret following kronos? was it all worth it?

placing the headphones on his ears, he chose 'when u miss me' and opened the cd case. there was a small folded piece of paper and he opened it.

'if ur listening to this, i'm probably away, but don't worry, i'll always be back, pretty boy. i promise. i love you <3'

the first song played. it was 'oh, honey, i love you' he laughed bitterly at the lyrics.

you've never failed to cheer him up even at his worst moments. and today was one of those tiring moments.

luke entered the cabin, looking tired as ever. the day had just finished—for him and the sun's at least. the moon's was just beginning—casting its evening glow at the camp, its rays entering the window panes.

he was met by his lover, sitting on his bed, waiting patiently. [name] didn't realize he entered, too busy perfecting her daily poem for her one and only.

luke immediately sank into you, resting his tired head on your shoulder. "love," you whispered, taking his hand. he hums in response.

"how was your day, hm?" you ask while playing with his fingers. "terrible." he whispers into the crook of your neck.

"want to talk about it?" you stopped playing with his hands and now turned to look at him. hearing no response from luke, you assume he doesn't want to talk about it.

"come on, let's go outside. i've got just the thing to make you feel better!" you chuckle, cupping his face and giving his oh so sweet lips a peck.

he still doesn't say anything but he follows you, locking his fingers with yours.

the walk was silent and you stopped by your cabin. "wait here for a bit, pretty boy."

you entered your cabin and as promised, returned quickly. but now, you had something in your hands. a lyre.

"okay, now, quick! let's go." you took his hand again leading him somewhere. after a while, luke now knows where you're going. he's very familiar with the path as this is where you go all the time.

whether it may be secret dates or just meet ups—he loves that place because he spends most of his time there with you.

"and, we're here!" the two of you sat by the lake, finding solace in the calmness of the stars illuminating the sky.

it was silent. but the good kind of silence, where the two of you just understood. luke had his head on your shoulder and you had your head on top of his.

"thank you," he whispers, finally breaking the silence. "hm? for what?" you ask.

"for cheering me up and being with me." he never failed to compliment and praise you every single day even if he was tired or anything—he'd never go to sleep without thanking and telling you how much he loves you.

"but, i'm not done yet." you face him and caress his cheek. you take out your lyre.

"did you know, your father, hermes, gave apollo the lyre?" luke nods and chuckles in response. you prepare your lyre and take out a piece of paper as you begin to recite your poem.

as you finished, you noticed luke's breathing was slow and relaxed. 'he must have fallen asleep. should i return to the cabin or nah?'

"ah, fuck it. we're sleeping here."

the door opened as you had just finished patching up an injured camper. "feeling any better?" paying no mind to the sound, you ask the poor kid. apparently he got injured after he was challenged to a duel with clarisse.

he nods and hides himself in the white sheets of the bed. "okay, good. tell me if it hurts again, hm?" you pat his head and turned around—only to be met by the one and only luke castellan.

"what is it this time, castellan?" you sigh. he goes here every day and asks you to heal him despite only having very small injuries.

"oh, come on, sweetheart. can't i just visit my girlfriend?" he suddenly hugs you, resting his face on the crook of your neck.

"can we do this later? i still have to heal other campers, love." you kiss his head and hesitantly push him away.

you go to another injured camper that was waiting by the bed. you didn't realize luke trailing behind you. "what happened?" you ask the girl. "accidentally tripped," she replied looking embarrassed "twisted my ankle."

luke wrapped his arms on your waist from behind and as much as you love it, you had to focus on helping the young girl. "love, not now, please."

you kneel and examine her injury. "does it hurt a lot?" you ask, holding her ankle. she nodded in response. you hum in response. "just relax. i'll heal it, but it might hurt a little, okay?" the 12 year old nodded, feeling tears prick her eyes.

luke noticed and sat beside her, tracing small circles on her back to calm her. you saw what was happening and smiled. "what's your name?" you ask, preparing your powers. "maia," she answered.

"i'll count to three—one, two, three." maia closed her eyes and to her surprise, there was no pain. "so, how do you feel now?" you looked up at her and smiled.

"better and it didn't hurt!" she giggled. "thank you, [name]!" you were now standing and maia hugged you. "no problem, maia, it's my job after all." you chuckle and pat her head.

"how about me?" you turned to your right, seeing luke pout. "what about you?" you tease him. "don't i get head pats, too, love?" he's still pouting and he looks absolutely adorable.

you sigh and eventually give in. you pat his head while maia laughs at the sight. this made all of you laugh and you hug both of them. "maia, you'll have to stay here for a bit, okay? you need to rest." the little girl nods and smiles.

"as for you," you squeeze luke's cheeks. "you come here with me." you drag him outside the infirmary both of you waving maia goodbye.

"i missed you," the two of you arrive at the lake and sit on the grass. "i missed you too, pretty girl." luke places a hand on your face and eventually, your lips meet his in a sweet kiss.

oh, how you missed this feeling. just the feeling of being in his arms, not caring about a thing in the world.

you move your hands to tangle themselves in his soft brown locks while he moves his to your waist.

your lips were just so soft and so sweet—he couldn't get enough of it, but both of you knew you had to pull away for air. so you did. (you didn't want to, though)

now you're on his lap, a sweet smile on both your faces. "i love you," luke smiled, pressing a kiss on your cheek. "i love you, too, castellan." he then kisses your other cheek, then your forehead, then your nose—and eventually, your lips.
