Okay a lot of people have been telling you about the mediocrity that is homecoming which is true

However irl most people don’t care to live their lives exactly like their parents so thronecoming being a big event makes sense

How I see it is that the royals really care about it for being crowned king or queen, the bookball players love the attention, same with the cheerhexers and a handful of other characters would be hexited for it like party planners etc.

But there definitely would be a lot of people who just enjoyed the half day and long weekend. Lots of the rebels probably wouldn’t care too much and really just want to get waisted at the after party

My school doesn’t rly do a lot with homecoming, because we don’t actually have a football team (it’s the sadder Canadian equivalent of homecoming) so it’s really just a dance. But we do have this other tradition called gym riot (im pretty sure it’s particular to my school) and there’s a lot of fun events to it that most ppl look forward to.

I would say the events of gym riot remind me of float building and at least half of the school gets involved or helps out a bit.

I mean there’s still ppl who don’t care abt gym riot and just skip (I’d bet that Grimm wouldn’t let anyone skip thronecoming) so I mean there’s definitely still characters who just would not give a shit about thronecoming.

But that’s just my take on it. Whether you make it super fantastical or down to earth I literally cannot wait to see what you decide to do with thronecoming

i think thronecoming is now throne-COMING together very decently in my fried ol brain.. i will likely be returning to the USians and their boundless wisdom in time, but for now all thats left for me to do is piece things together and frantically ignore whatever the Float Parade actually is!!!! ON WE ROLL!!!!!

if you were going to publish a book, what would it be about?

WELL. i've had several things floating around for a very long time, but if i ever get a proper handle on the plot of The Furnace i'd love for that to be my debut!!!! alchemy, small town gossip, painted symbols, attempted murder, actual murder, failures of nature, lakes and hungry hunting things! it's got something for everyone !!!!

Out of all the hypothetical/canon EAH parents... Which handful of them intrigue you the most?

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. ill be honest, i dont spend a massive amount of thought on the eah parents!! their kids certainly give me mad enough of a time. currently i'd have to say the evil queen and the good king, which is a painfully basic answer but they are the ones i have thought about the most, far and away!!! mostly for rir reasons, and their plot relevance has endeared me to them. i will be setting aside time to think upon more eah parents, and get back to you !!!!!

homecoming is so funny like they had dumb activities at the actual dance and i stayed for 5 minutes and then dipped to get mexican w a separate group of friends from the friends i went to get mexican with BEFORE the dance... mostly just an excuse to look fancy 👍🏽 also idk if nobody actually cares abt who's crowned king/queen or if i was just a part of the circle of people who Didn't Care but i'm inclined to say that nobody cared bc i literally never heard any discussion about it and like half the school doesn't even bother to vote 💀 highlight is that the football game had a based halftime show where band performed longer than normal and the dance team and cheerleaders both had showcases!! in football's case it's Supposed To Be the first home game of the season that takes place AFTER the first away game and my school always scheduled it against the Known Worst Schools in the district so we'd win 😭 but wikipedia has a page on it if u want to look at that, i wouldn't say that its current present-day section is very accurate (to my single experience LOL) but origins probably is and it WAS originally to welcome back alumni/other former members so u could do some crazy things w the eah parents visiting or whatever

i love and appreciate these field notes greatly this made me giggle a lot!!!!!!! you know for some reason it never once occurred to me to just...... look at the wikipedia page for homecoming..... but at the same time i feel like just that on its own would have neglected the richness of the event, the humanity, trials, and profound mediocrity that i have come to understand are crucial to homecoming itself!!!!!!

this does now present me with an entertaining choice.. do i stay true to the [now apparently vastly unrealistic] special and doll up eah:rir's thronecoming to epic proportions, have everyone actually want to be there and have virtually any of it mean anything to them, OR do i ground it. make it a naturalistic, decent thing that everyone shows up for because they sort of have to and theres not anything else to do in the evenings. i fear for the plot i will have to keep it as showy and vital as in the cartoon, but GOD wouldnt it be funny if the thronecoming dance is just a bunch of kids lowkey sweating through their rental finery in a dark, hot room with a snack bar full of premade sandwiches. THE THINGS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN.......

going crazy thinking ab the fact that there might be a time where lizzie thinks daring will get bored of her once she reciprocates his feelings and all the kindess hes shown her so far is only to gain her affection and once he has it he’ll move on to the next girl…. going crazy thinking about how daring probably doesnt realize it, but it creeps up on him, the fact that he looks forward to seeing her when they share classes and feels mopey on the days when they don’t. the fact that he gets a little jealous the wonderlandians get to know lizzie in a way he probably never will. going crazy about their first meeting being so indicative of their relationship to one another: daring, show-boaty, and well-practised in the art of flattery and lizzie, blunt and straightforward and herself. and a laugh escapes daring and it surprises him too. and thats the thing, is that lizzie thinks daring has an agenda and a goal treating her so kindly, and that’s daring alright, always the showman, always the quintessential prince. but like their first meeting, daring doesn’t expect to find her so funny, to not mind her mean quips and snotty disposition. lizzie thinks he’s doing it for himself, but daring is doing it entirely in spite of himself. going crazy thinking about lizzie keeping her heart cautious and far away, while daring’s is spilling over itself.

i shall be absorbing this information properly in time and may come back for some more, specifically about the king and queen aspect...... but FOR NOW i especially appreciate the details regarding both football and the actual feelings of students towards this .....esteemed..... event. it's nice to know that school events being lukewarm amusement at best is a global phenomenon !!!! it unites us all.

OH ONE THING I FEEL THE UNFORTUNATE NEED TO REMIND EVERY1 OF is that. i am english. and i do not know anything about the specific or even really the general goings-on surrounding the event of homecoming. we do not have that in the uk and frankly i am still quite muddled it regards to both it's origin and purpose.. so there may be some details in thronecoming that make absolutely no sense to a logical american !!! but please believe me i am trying thank you.
