“Media and Government: A Love-Hate Relationship”
Tumblr media
The media and government play a vital role in civilization. Government associates on media to communicate with the people that have a thorough impact on public access in the means of communication for disseminating information. Although these two have their functions, there is something that connects them and that is the people. It is believed that the media is on the lookout for the transactions and actions of the government. From the existence of the media and government, there is what we called a love-hate relationship between them. Nowadays, there are lots of scenarios in which the love-hate relationship between the media and government has. Government officials or anyone who is involved in the world of politics used to love or hate media depending on the situation that they are into. An example of it is that they love to use media to gain more popularity especially if there is something that makes their names more known for something good that happened in society, and they hate media for exposing something bad about them such as their involvement in corruption and any other forms of unlawful actions.
Although at some point media was just used for personal purposes rather than for the benefit of the community. The use of media continues to rely on the government because there is also something that people can get out of it. There are lots of people who get easily believe in what they see or hear from the media, some exploitative individuals use this platform to gain money and for them, it does not matter if the information that they distribute to people is a fact or just fiction. These things resulted in so many disadvantages of the easy access and spread of information through the use of media platforms. Is there something that we could do to eradicate this love-hate relationship between media and government, and the exploitative actions from politicians and media users? Honestly, we are being desensitized with these things we already knew, but we tend to take action because, for us, media and government are inconsistent in their relationship with one another.
