How many sims alive who are descendants of Maddox the first are there? Are there occult lines we may see, but do not know about?

I can't really be sure because my ancestry lines in the game are a hot mess with loads of gaps (from sims being deleted rather than killed off). However, I can promise that the family line that the story centres around are descendants of Maddox and hopefully always will be.

There are not yet any vampires, aliens or werewolves in the game. I intend to introduce those in specific eras. Mermaids have entered the story with the Stuart Era and may or may not become part of the family line...

have you ever regret not having choosen another sim for a specific era? for example instead of kennedi maybe have sophie be the main sim in the roman era

Love this question!

I don't tend to find I have much choice.

For example, I actually intended to follow Sophie in the Roman Era... and then she died by being struck by lighting. So I made a pivot to Kennedi.

Another example for the Tudor era is that I loved Isabeau, but needed to play mainly as Cassian for the challenge goal of having a sim with the six wives of Henry VIII.

Now that I think about it, age, challenge goals and who survives end up meaning I only have one option anyway. I've genuinely never had to ponder who to choose as my heir. If anything, I pray a particular sim will get to survive so they can be my heir!

That might be too limiting for some, but I really prefer my story being heavily guided by gameplay. If I had to purely make it all up, I seriously doubt I'd have come up with the dramatic turns of events we've had up to now!

Most definitely - both the Georgian and Victorian era will have sims travelling to non-English worlds!

Historically, that was for pretty shitty reasons (empire and all that) but in the game we won't be going as dark as all that

Not getting to play sims? I've got withdrawal shakes. I am greatly looking forward to the day the babies sleep through the night so that I can get some sleep and the energy/time to play Sims!!

I must add that the many asks I've gotten have been greatly appreciated for making me feel like I'm still in some touch with the story and simblr

how does your game normally look like without shaders?

I have the reshade you see in my images on all the time as it's a gameplay friendly reshade. I honestly don't remember what the game looks like without reshade / Sunblind / OOTD and I don't ever want to go without them again!

I hope you know the way you show us this stories is very inspiring and when I was tired of doing the same type of gameplay it inspired to play the Sims again ❤️

I am forever grateful I found the historical simming/ story-telling communities because I think I otherwise would have stopped playing years ago. Instead I have found the most fun hobby that feels so much deeper than 'playing a video game'

I feel like Frankie would name two of her children Maggie and Peggy so she can remember those who were close to her.

I absolutely agree - even though marriage and children are the furthest thing from Frankie's mind at the moment.

Enjoy an outtake from their final night together (I decided a heavily pregnant woman lifting a child up and onto her shoulders was a step too far, but I still love the moment!)

Don’t you hate it when you have a whole plot planned for your sim like a partner, a house, who they’re friends with and all of a sudden your sim decides to flirt with their partners dad. 😭

I experienced this big time with Elisaria in the Medieval era...

Elisaria at this point was on the cusp of having an affair with Colette. However, Colette's father would not stop trying to shag Elisaria. Because I let gameplay dictate the story, we very nearly had a Colette-Elisaria-Colette'sfather love triangle, but then the father was killed off in the plague and the problem was solved!

Hii I’m here to recommend you to use MissChipsa’s map replacement, they make your game look more historically accurate. For example in San Myshuno the apartment are replaced by towers!! It’s very nice

I'm aware of this map replacement and have actually reblogged it over on my CC side blog ( @allhistoricalcc )

There's an insane amount of incredible CC and mods on that blog - more than I would dare to add to my game (somehow I doubt my 1TB hard drive would be enough...). This community is amazing for CC and mods!

i know this is a weird question, but bear with me- how inbreed are your current sims? because after seeing how a lot of simmers have their sims distant relatives all married to each other (me included unfortunetly) i wondered if it was the same for you

I actually love this question! It's such a common challenge for legacy players.

Mine are not very inbred. At the end of each era I go through all the households and delete - to be honest - any sim I deem unattractive. This can lead to a pretty big culling so I then repopulate with attractive sims I've downloaded from Simblr.

It means I don't have huge, impressive family trees, but I don't mind that.

maybe everytime an era ended you could upload the main household to the gallery for us to play with like you did in the medieval era unless you’re uncomfortable then no worries!!

I have uploaded quite a few of my main households to the gallery/Patreon, but there are definitely gaps. Below are the sims I've missed so far (excluding any sims that I downloaded from other simmers, my original starter sims Maddox and Kaitlin and Flori).

I won't bother with a poll, but if anyone else would also be interested in downloading them then drop a comment and if a few people are interested then I'll look into doing it. If there's a character you really want that's not listed here, then drop a comment on who it is and I'll see if I can upload them.

Uberhood 2024 Update By AnotherPlumbob (CC free)

The Uberhood is an ongoing PROJECT where I’m creating a Cc-free savefile, with all the worlds and lore from The Sims 2 ported to The Sims 4. 

NOTE: In this update I've revamped PLEASANTVIEW only - if you were interested in the other worlds or premades, please note they remain exactly as they were in the previous versions.

It currently includes

1.- Remade Worlds

Pleasantview (Newcrest+Willow Creek)

Strangetown (Strangerville+Oasis Springs)

Veronaville (Windenburg)

Bluewater Promenade (Magnolia Promenade)

Three Lakes (Granite Falls)

Bluewater Bay [only partially built] (Brindleton Bay)

All the career lots (detective, hospital and science lab).

BEWARE: the rest of the worlds are either empty, half built or a mess in general.

2.- Families

The save includes all the premade families as well as the iconic townies that lived in those worlds in The Sims 2 times. They all have jobs, relationships, sentiments, lifestyles, reputations, etc. For Pleasantview sims only I've also included more lore in the form of milestones, added traits, midlife crisis, etc.

3. Required packs and How to Install (PLEASE READ)

THE SAVE IS CC-FREE BUT ALL EXPANSION, GAME PACKS,STUFF PACKS AND KITS RELEASED UP UNTIL MARCH 2024. 

If you don’t have all packs, sims may be half naked, and/or bald and stuff may be missing. Install at your own risk. 

In order to install:

BACK UP YOUR SAVES.

Download the the SAVE file.

Put the save in your SAVES folder.  Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Saves. I changed the name of the file so that it will hopefully not overwrite any of your saves (including the previous v1). If your system prompts you to overwrite a save, do not click yes. Just change the name of the save (keep it 8 numbers but change the numbers) and try again.

Optional: Put the .package file (StrangetownTexts.package) in your mods folder. This file is used to change the Strangerville mystery a bit, and turn it into the Strangetown mystery (with custom texts, references to the Bella mystery, etc.). Please install it if you want to have some clues on what happened to Bella!! 

4. Play Order

There’s really no set play order but note that:

1.- Brandi Broke is pregnant and will give birth in 3 days regardless of who you play and regardless of whether aging is on or off, so play with her first if you want to be there for the birth.

2.- Same thing applies to Pascal Curious, who’s also pregnant at the start of the save.

5. Disclaimer and TOU

I’m just one person and there may be some bugs here or there, or naked sims or whatever. Feel free to report any bugs you find but I will only fix them if I consider them super relevant or game breaking, otherwise the save is provided as is and you install it at your own risk.

Also please don't waste your breath asking me to do X world, or add lore to Veronaville or Strangetown or whatever, because I will only do it if and when I'm inspired to do it - and the requests quite honestly stress me out.

It’s so fun starting again with a sim in this challenge, I love when my gameplay goes form the rich sims to the pooper ones because it gives you that nostalgic feeling and you really have to try to raise money

I agree! The game makes it so easy to become mega rich that you need some challenges thrown your way to force you into harder times. I've tried to make sure that every era has a money killer in there somewhere!

i really like how you manage to put gameplay features into the story like maggie saying to frankie she should learn some handiness skills

Thank you! There are a few aspects to the gameplay that I keep in the story:

1. Knowing traits, skills and ambitions.

2. Only referring to time via days and seasons (as opposed to months or years).

3. I used to refer more explicitly to Christianity, but I've shifted that to a more Sims version of The Watcher lately.

5. Ages being the 'infant' 'teen' 'elder' etc rather than a number

6. Occult have the powers and skills of the game

7. Everyone is fine with the idea of meeting someone for the first time at 9am and being madly in love and married to them by 9pm ( /s )

I've leaned into this more and more as the story has gone on. I like the story to feel part of the Sims Universe rather than as if I am trying to recreate a historically accurate and real world.
