There's a post about financial abuse going around that starts off solid but additions to it make me really understand that a lot of what is considered financial abuse is "I entered into a relationship with someone financially worse off than me and the way it is impacting me is abusive" and my experience of being a person born into poverty who grew up in a upper middle class area is that they truly all do think you're abusive, evil, and awful if you happen to be poor.

If your credit is bad and you can't get yourself out of the hole you were born into, that's because you did something wrong and are continuing to do something wrong and forcing anyone to be in close contact with you is inherently abusive. Even if you tell people up front your situation, even if you tell people "I'm in the middle of fighting for disability aid and can't work" and they say "don't sweat it bc I make 100k a year and I gotchu" eventually they'll see their agreed-upon dynamic as inherently abusive on your end, even if they have ALL the power bc they have money.

It's no wonder we have such a homeless crisis when people see people in poverty as inherently abusive. The capitalist individualism brainrot goes so fucking deep. I'm so fucking blessed my partner grew up just as poor as me lmfao!! Some of the shit being labeled as financial abuse was so insane to read as someone with no money. Y'all are pigs to poor people
