Find the Word Tag game (chest, book, glass and window)
Greatings everyone, well I have been tag by the always lovely @axl-ul (I apologize for the wait) to find the words chest, book, glass, interest and window in my WIP: The Eternal Throne. Make sure to check out his post right here.
Hope you enjoy!
As always a gentle reminder, these are rough translations from The Eternal Throne.
Chest from Chapter 5: The Smuggler.
One of them, the one directly behind <Samuel>, tried to make a vertical slice with his sword. Before he could even swoop his sword downwards. <Samuel> giving him a quick glance reacted with an even quicker move, turned himself towards his aggressor and putting both hands as support in the bar, delivered a kick with both legs right in his chest; with his guard open the soldier just received the hit, losing balance and falling on his back.
Book from Chapter 2: The Farmer.
<Bren> without much thought, lean over, dropping the staff beside him, taking the book with both hands already open on the floor.
His eyes quickly went through every page trying to decipher its secret, but, his glance only found those walls in ivory. One after the other those blank pages went through and, at that moment, filling the lad with doubts, after all maybe he was mistaken, but his conviction led him to the next page.
Glass from Chapter 10: The Maid.
—Doing what exactly? Searching for myths? Explore ruins of a glory long gone? There's nothing out there worth anything in that cruel world.— Her eyes went glassy and in the starlight they shined as two golden plates —Why do you want to inflict you more pain?
Interest from Chapter 3: The Ranger
—I came here because I heard you had an elusive prey giving you trouble, and now that I’m here I can see that not only it's an elusive one,— she explained while looking at the wall of flames that now was slowly vanishing —but an interesting one as well.
Window from Chapter 1: The Healer.
While exploring the second floor, he found that a main hallway connected with some doors and at the end was a wooden shut window in which dim light passed through. His search continued there, the magus carefully opened each door until behind one of them the detection spell, as expected, finally had a reaction.
Well that's it for me, hope you enjoyed! Now time to tag: @goblin-writer, @asablehart, @maddstermind, @the-down-upside-finch, @lexiklecksi @betweenthetimeandsound @inkhelm and @charlies-storybook. Your words to find are: Word, Seek, Find and Surprise. Have fun!

Find the Word Tag game
Thank you @anthros-vanitas-archive for the tag. it took me a while to rouse myself to find Word, Seek, Find and Surprise from the WIP that I am trying to drag across the the finish line: The Case of the Shining Jade.
Word:
“If this gets out of hand you will have less suspects. How is that investigation going?”
“Not well.” Tibault stepped forward, “So far there are no concrete leads and there seems to be something,” he hesitated for a moment, picking his next words carefully, “ancient at work.”
Seek:
As she mulled over the three men she watched as others took turns on deck. The ragtag meetings kept her entertained with ever changing scenery, and even when they seemed incongruous the close quarters of a ship and the occasion of travel made people seek out different company. The most contrasted pair was the middling gentleman that took a turn on deck with Marguerite. While she seemed to glide across the deck he was firmly corporeal,
Find:
“I understand that.” She would want to investigate the crew but wouldn’t push that yet, not after last night, “In that case I would like to interview the passengers one at a time. Maybe they saw something, or I could find the thief.”
Surprise:
The deck was empty. The crew had cleaned here early on and even repaired the lanterns. No evidence of last night remained. It both surprised and concerned Karo at how practiced the clean-up was. As she turned the corner to walk to the front of the ship, she saw Charon standing at the railing, fishing rod in hand. It seemed he was relaxing, and he had not noticed her yet.
That's about it from my side. I'd love to hear from @sleepyowlwrites, @n1ghtcrwler, @pheita. No pressure obvi and I hope you'll enjoy. Words to find: Gasp, Moon, Hidden, Season.

The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Amini’s murder by the regime in his songs.
Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, “Iranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?”

Always love how much folklore especially creature folklore emphasizes that there is a way for you to win. These are the steps to ensure the dead don't rise: take them out through a hole in the wall and give them iron shoes. Vampires cannot abide sunlight. If you hear a dog howl on a churchyard path turn around and get home as fast as you can. Iron and salt and the colour red. None of this doomed idea, the world is incomprehensible but if you're a bit clever you'll survive it just fine, there's always ways out.

Strange things happen when the Mists are involved; fractals can splinter off from other worlds. Worlds where one little thing went different and changed the thread of fate.
Take, for example, Tyria's heroes. What would the consequences be if the beloved Commander made a different choice so many years ago?
What would be the fallout of a meeting between the two?

A digital painting of two Glaws standing opposed to one another with arms raised and weapons aimed at one another. The Glaw (Stormcaller) on the left is dressed in dark blues, grays, and bright yellows in full-coverage cloth and armor. Their hair is shoulder-length and braided. Their right arm is covered in an intricate golden-armored sleeve, and they hold a slim dagger. A bolt of lightning runs down this arm. The Glaw (Spiritsfire) on the right is dressed in rich browns and reds with pops of light blue gemstones in a revealing corset. Their hair is chin-length and tied up in a ponytail. Their right arm is bare and tattooed in white ink, and they hold a gray-green gun. A streak of fire runs down this arm. Behind the two is a smoky, dark background.

I know I don't shut up about this but frankly not enough people are angry about the 5-day/40 hour workweek (and I am AWARE a lot of people work even more than that). I feel like a lot more people should be absolutely furious that we only really have two days a week and some occasional hours in the evening to socialise, run errands, do chores, or relax.
It's no wonder so many people are profoundly lonely and disconnected from their communities when maintaining a social life in what little free time we have is incredibly difficult. If you have kids, a second job, a very long commute, or other responsibilities, it's nearly impossible.
We literally aren't meant to live like this and I'll never stop being shocked how many people just take it as the natural state of things and don't want to throw a brick through a billionaire's window every time they think of it.
