Every now and then, when ordering several fragrance oil sample vials from the Internet, I roll and 1 and every single scent is unappealing.
So thankful for sample options.

My fan casting for Impa in an OoT-era Zelda movie would be Léa Seydoux (Fragile from Death Stranding).

Because boats float, even very large ships can have a movement to them, and an ever-changing (often very subtle) angle of the deck. Like an aircraft, roll, pitch, and yaw exist. In some conditions (like ocean crossing, where 15 ft swells are typically the norm outside of the Doldrums), one grows accustomed to a surfing motion, both above and below deck. Sailing downwind can cause ships to roll side to side a bit. Sailing upwind, a ship heels over to one side. In ocean crossing, a single tack can last a couple of weeks.
With all of this motion, one instinctively learns how to stow things. Don’t stack things, tie things down, set brakes on wheels, etc.
But when a ship is hauled out of the water onto land (less so with dry docks), it’s like solid ground on the ship. The lack of motion is eerie—things can be safely stacked, etc.
Also, because the weight of the ship is resting on her keel, door frames will shift a bit, and doors will not close, drawers will not close, etc. It’s weird.
All this is to say that WW Ganondorf lived in a section of old boat that was effectively hauled out into an enormous old tree, but probably didn’t notice nor care how weird that would feel to a person to spends a lot of time on boats in water (and Tetra didn’t have enough time to notice). 😂

*looks at Agahnim character art for the first time in like 25 years*
Well, apparently MENA stereotypes have been in the LoZ games since the early 90s. 😣

Agahnim in a Link to the Past is arguably kind of the first instance of a Phantom Ganon in the LoZ series (from a chronological game release perspective, not in-universe).

Shout-out to the young teen today who was hanging around on the dock as their older family member asked questions about the ship I work on, then had the most charming, quietly excited response to my joke about how the old boat was, “A Ship of Theseus.” You made my week.

Syncarpha argyropsis look a bit like IRL bright blooms. The photo does not do their silvery glow justice.

100% would love to see more exploration of this era in a DLC.
*wistfully looks over at Omega Force* Maybe they could delve into this with another Hyrule Warriors game? Even if it is only what-ifs and isn’t fully “canon?”
In TotK, why was there a total lack of Sheikah in the sages and Rauru’s court?
It is implied that the Ancient Sheikah developed their technology from Zonai tech, but how did they feel about the Zonai? Was there strain and suspicion? Or was there quasi-worship there, given all the constellation motifs and the Astral Observatory? Were the constellations from a desire to explore the unknown, or a warning about the potential return of the people who had arrived from the stars and then heavily mined the kingdom?

Even with this small sample size, this definitely appears to be the case!

If I recall correctly, there is a portrait in Hyrule Castle with Princess Zelda surrounded by people who look like Tetra’s crew.
Was the flood actually fairly recent and these are the same people, and the Zelda in the portrait Tetra’s mother? Or are the folks in the painting ancestors of Tetra’s crew? Or perhaps the Hylian court reborn?

Several months ago, we started watching the One Piece anime on a whim. We were only vaguely aware of its existence for about a decade, and weren’t big into shonen series (until we binged several seasons of My Hero Academia over the pandemic, which better acquainted us to the genre). One Piece had top recomendation billing on multiple streaming services, so I—a fan of IRL tall ships—finally gave it a shot, knowing that it is an anime series that began in the late 90s, and would show its age a bit. Intimidated by the number of episodes, I did not expect to watch much of it, but I was curious, especially since it is so popular.
We ended up watching the early episodes in doses. I found it was difficult to get into. The world was intriguing and the characters were interesting, and I was slowly warming up to it, but the pace was dragging.
But I remember the exact moment when I became truly hooked to the show and all of its charming weirdness:
In the Baratie arc, when Dracule Mihawk first appeared. It was the first of many, “What the…?” moments that helped set the tone of how random this world can be, and I loved it. (I had to look it up, and apparently Mihawk sails in on episode 23.) In that moment—with the backdrop of the floating restaurant and its fighting cooks—something clicked in my head, and I went from, “I don’t know if I can get into this show,” to, “Oh! OH. Yes. I have calibrated and I get it now. Sign me up.”
Fast forward several months. We’re just shy of episode 500 as of this writing, and I am very glad we gave it a shot and stuck it out.
How funny that the “Rule of 5 Episodes” in anime (which I definitely felt with Cowboy Bebop) must be—due to its sheer scale—extended to 25 episodes for One Piece. 😂

Was Rauru just a kid when the Zonai first arrived to Hyrule, or was he born in Hyrule?

The Zonai have a lot of toothy creature motifs on their tech. What was it based on? More dragons? Creatures long extinct? Creatures from their home world? Creatures from their mythology?

Also voice acting while matching another person’s lip movements is way more difficult than acting to the cadence of simplified mouth animations.
It just dawned on me that the Netflix “One Piece” show using the original anime voice actors for the Japanese dub is a lot more complex than it seems. At first glance, it looks like the voice actors are just reprising their roles. They are already familiar with their characters, so it shouldn’t be too difficult doing the dub.
What makes things complex is that, technically speaking, these aren’t their characters. When Mayumi Tanaka goes to voice Luffy in the anime, she’s only working off of the script and directions from the director. When Mayumi goes to voice Luffy in the live-action, she’s actually working off of Iñaki Godoy’s performance. Even if you’re the greatest actor in the world and can replicate another performance perfectly, there’s still going to be distinct differences that will make you stand out. These differences could be anything, from dialogue changes to make the pacing work for the show to Godoy’s own little nuances that he adds to his version of Luffy.
It’s strange to think that even though Mayumi Tanaka is doing the Japanese dub for Luffy, she has to approach the same character from a different angle since this isn’t her Luffy, it’s Godoy’s. Same goes for the entire cast and their respective characters. It’s like they’re starting fresh.
