Sirius and Ginny are both a little overconfident.And they're all a little bit immature.To be honest, I think the younger version of Sirius and Ginny would be the most perfect match.On the cross-age Sirius&Ginny though I also liked those fiction matching Sirius over 35 with Ginny of a normal age.However, the order of the phoenix shows that Sirius is more mature by this time, after all, he can persuade ginny and the twins not to rush to see Arthur.Of course, after the war he might be able to return to being the free and fearless Sirius.After all, he had lost twelve years of his youth. Surely he would want to make amend.

And Ginny doesn't want to be in charge of his type, so Sirius can be very freely with her.Instead, we've already seen in the books that Hermione has been a control freak throughout the seven books,she always trying to keep Ron and Harry in check like a mother.So I think even if at some point Sirius does have a crush on Hermione, they won't last, because it's not in Sirius's nature to want to be controlled, so his personality really conflicts with Hermione's.

This why I find some sirimione fiction normally are bit too ooc. The Sirius of the book did not like to be controlled.In the book, Hermione is always trying to change people, and Hermione is very opposed to bad behavior, breaking the rules only when it's necessary.This is definitely at odds with Sirius, who delights in breaking the rules for fun.That is why I found sirimione didn't attract to me at first.Of course，after I read Complex Touch by keeperofthemoon0. I completely hooked by Ginrius/Redstar.After that，I could never read any other Sirimione pairing.

ok so while we're all on a Sirius Black Kick, I read some Sirius x Ginny fic a bit ago that is the exact inverse of everything you don't like about Sirius and Hermione- namely, because Sirius and Ginny are both Very Over This Shit and Especially Being Asked to Always Sacrifice Themselves for Nothing in Return and Just Want to Drink Some Goddamn Whiskey in Peace for Once. humbly submitted.

I think they both same in their young age.The both reckless,fiercely and vicious.In addition,they both like pranking and flying.Also,they are both handsome and beautiful in the books.So the young version of them will be the perfect match.

Of course,the original version of them will be great too.Because Sirius have made those mistake,he could give her advice and he will not force her to do anything.

Very good point. Ginny haters made me insisted on translation those Ginny's pairings. She's a great character with so much potential. We can't change the view of haters. BUT we could change these nerutal viewers.

The thing I find funny about Ginny-bashing in the fandom is that if you put together all the “reasons” given by haters for why they dislike her, you actually end up with a good, well-rounded character.

Like half of the haters say they hate Ginny because she’s “too perfect” while the other half say they hate her because “she’s a bitch”, mostly because of the way she treated Ron in book 6 and the fact that she’s sorta trigger-happy when it comes to hexing people. Some say they hate her because she fangirls over Harry and other hate her because she’s “too cool” and has lots of boyfriends (even aside from the slut-shaming, she canonically dated a grand total of 2 boys before Harry lmao).

And it’s like… She’s good at some stuff but can be mean or bad-tempered sometimes? She has a childish crush on Harry and then later grows out of it? So what’s you’re saying is she has some qualities and some flaws? Just like any well-written character?

Of course that’s leaving aside all of the criticisms which clearly indicates that people have forgotten about the books. Typically the arguments that she’s a “Mary Sue” or a “not like other girls” stereotype which I just don’t get ? The main thing that Ginny is canonically good at is Quidditch, and it’s explained in the books that she trained secretly since she was a kid, not to mention that all of her brothers minus Percy are Quidditch players (also if you can accept that Harry is naturally good at Quidditch just like his father, or that Hermione is naturally excellent at school, Ginny’s Quidditch skills seem pretty realistic in comparison). Regarding everything else we don’t know if she excels at anything? There’s ONE line in book 5 that says she’s really good during DA training but that it could be because her boyfriend is going easy on her. We know that she’s pretty and popular, but that alone doesn’t make her a Mary Sue? Other characters are described as attractive (Fleur, Bill, Cedric, Sirius as a teenager, Lily, the Patil twins) and 1) they don’t get that much hate 2) that alone doesn’t make them bad characters since they have other traits. And so does Ginny.

As for the “not like other girls”…It’s pretty clear in HP that unlike sports in our world, Quidditch in the wizarding world is not a stereotypical male interest (see: Katie, Angelina and Alicia ; Cho Chang, Demelza Robbins ; the Hollyhead Harpies ; and I’m pretty sure the national Irish and Bulgarian teams in book 4 have both male and female players) so Ginny liking Quidditch doesn’t set her apart in a “I’m not like other girls, I like boyish things” way. From a narrative viewpoint it’s just something that Harry and her have in common and it’s one of the reasons why Harry starts noticing her more. Also, it’s been said before, but Ginny isn’t a tomboy nor does she reject femininity? She buys a pink Pygmypuff because it’s so cute and calls it Arnold, she wears a flowery scent, she has long hair, and wears a low-cut dress at the wedding. She’s friends with Hermione and Luna so she doesn’t reject other girls. True she makes fun of Fleur, but 1) so does Hermione and oddly enough people don’t hold that against her as much 2) it’s more because Fleur is condescending and treats her like a child.

(And I’m not even getting into straight-up false stuff like “Ginny dated other guys to make Harry jealous”. No she didn’t)

So basically it’s really fun to see how Ginny-bashing is so contradictory because they’re only acknowledging one aspect of her character. “She’s perfect and has no flaws” but also “she’s mean to Ron/Fleur and has a temper”. She’s a “flat character” but also “oh she’s so good at Quidditch”.

(Also a lot of people seem to forget that Ginny is not a main character and complain that we don’t know every single detail of her life. Dude she’s a secondary character, this isn’t Game of Thrones where every single character gets extensive POV chapters.)

Tl;dr : hate against Ginny Weasley just reminds me why I like her and why she’s a great character and she and Harry belong together.
