We fought, Mobius... and she kicked me through the time door. Well, I'd asked who won but... It was a draw.

i hate the fact that sylvie is so underappreciated and underhyped.
she is everything a fandom loves, minus the fact that she isn't a cis man.
she is canonically queer.
has traveled all around the multiverse.
her glorious purpose is defeating the fascist organization.
she is radical. she believes that a rotten system needs to be burned down, not rebranded.
she has complex, intriguing dynamic with other characters. hwr? her archnemesis who wanted her to continue his legacy. loki? her variant who is obsessed with her. the tva? has been stalking her since she was 11.
everything about her is punk. her personality, her appearance, everything.
she isn't "softened" or "feminized" in order to appeal to the male audiences, or any audiences for that matter. she is unapologetically feral and bratty.
she has trauma, issues and flaws that are explainable by her backstory - her childishness, for example, can be explained by the fact that she never got to properly grow up through socialization.
she inspired loki, the biggest mcu antihero, to change for the better.
like, people here will say that they want three-dimensional, angry female characters but when they actually get her, they complain about her being too rude instead of platonically sucking their fave male character's dick.

I think Cousin's comment at the end of season 2 really sums it up for Carmy. His mom has fked him up so bad that he can't let anything good into his life. And that good is Claire. Now, I know a lot of the fans want Carmy with Sydney together and I respect that but I do genuinely believe those two are best friends and should not be together romantically. When I see them interact, do I think they have a connection? Of course I do. But is that connection conducive to a good relationship? Not necessarily. They're both way too in it (the restaurant) to have a healthy relationship that doesn't get overwhelmed by the needs of the restaurant. I also don't think every significant relationship between a man and woman needs to necessarily be romantic. Their connection can be significant just because they're friends and partners who have each other's back and respect the hell out of each other.
I actually really liked the introduction of Claire and the relationship Carmy starts with her. Claire is so good for him in a way that's very necessary for Carmy. Everything about the restaurant is just so fast paced and aggressive that when she's with him, things slow down. Most, if not all, of their scenes are close ups of their facial expressions, their eyes, and them just sitting/standing still talking to each other. And that's all it is, their voices, with barely any background noise. Which is in direct contrast to the way the scenes in the restaurant are filmed: loud, chaotic, very fast paced.
The way Carmy is with Claire is different from the way he is with others. He automatically becomes more gentle and soft with Claire. You can hear it in his voice. He calls her beautiful and seeks comfort from her as she grounds him and tries to make him understand that he's allowed good/fun moments. The other shoe isn't going to drop. It makes sense that he has a difficult time balancing his new relationship and the restaurant. Of course he does, bc both those things require a lot of time and dedication but it doesn't necessarily mean they have to be one or the other. He just needs more time to learn how to balance the two.
He's constantly told by Uncle Jimmy and Sydney that he needs to be focused and can't be distracted by other things and that's completely understandable because Uncle J and Sydney NEED Carmy to put his entire being into the restaurant so they also do not fail. Their intent is understandable but also not the purest. Then you see Richie and Fak completely waving the Claire Bear Flag and it's because they're his best friends/family who just want the best for him. They see how Claire makes him happy and they know that Claire is good for him. So Carmy is once again being pulled into two different directions and his self loathing pushes him to believe everything wrong w the restaurant is his fault bc he's happy with a girl and so happy that he's not always thinking of the restaurant. A viewer has to be able to see that that's not right? He can love and bleed for the restaurant while also being with a woman that "provides him with amusement and enjoyment."
You might not like Carmy and Claire together or you might want Carmy with Sydney but I don't think you can sit there and say Claire is a bad character or she's bad for him. She literally left him a voicemail because she was so overwhelmed with love for him that she just had to call him to say she was so happy and proud of him. She had to tell him she loved him. That is so unbelievably sweet. The way Carmy reacts to that is up to him. And he doesn't react in the best way but he obviously loves Claire just as much and hates that he hurt her. But it all just goes back to Richie's comment that he can never allow himself to let anything good in his life so he ends up self sabotaging.
